Chapter 1617: Chapter 1617: Everything Falls into Place

"Eat, what’s wrong?" Taylor suddenly asked with concern, "Do you feel it’s too bland and you have no appetite?"

As a prince, he knew the breakfast menu, and the royal breakfast had no chili peppers.

Jocelyn Morgan smiled shyly, "It’s not that I’m not hungry, it’s just that I’m not used to it yet. But don’t worry, I’ll slowly get used to it."

"We avoid spicy food for breakfast because it’s good for the stomach, it’s scientifically proven."

Taylor thought he understood and couldn’t help teasing her, "Did you sneak into the kitchen just to secretly add some spice to the breakfast?"

This was a perfect excuse, requiring no further thought from Jocelyn, she smiled silently and tacitly agreed.

"Haha, it’s okay, I’ll send you a bottle of hot sauce later," Taylor found her adorable, "It’s a secret royal recipe, you can’t buy it outside, I guarantee you’ll like it!"

"Thank you, Prince."

"You’re welcome, my friend!" Taylor was happy to oblige her.

Jocelyn took a step forward, "I’m going now, it’ll be a hassle if the doctor can’t find me later."

Taylor cheerfully stayed by her side, "What do you usually like to eat?" as if trying to learn more about her little by little.

"I’m generally fine with everything, no dietary restrictions."

"Then you’re quite easy to please!"

"Aren’t I though!"

In the King’s palace, Taylor had the servants prepare and then dined with Jocelyn.

However, the King witnessed this, and recalling yesterday’s situation, he felt that Taylor was fond of Jocelyn, which was not good.

Jocelyn was Louis’s girlfriend!

The relationship between half-brothers was already awkward, and a fallout over a woman would make it worse.

So the King came to the dining table and focused his gaze on the girl, "Jocelyn, you will dine with me from now on."

Eden and Arthur were standing not far away and saw and heard this scene too.

They seemingly understood the King’s intentions, he did not want Prince Taylor to have too many opportunities to get close to this girl.

They believed that this girl was a person of Justin Kingston, and Justin was a businessman with significant international influence, who could be friend or foe.

Such friendships were unstable.

Jocelyn looked up at the King, thinking, isn’t this an opportunity?

"Okay." She stood up and saluted the King, agreeing calmly, "I’m willing to dine with you, just the right chance to learn some royal etiquette."

"I heard you also write novels?" The King gave her an appreciative look, "I hope during your time at the royal household, it will enrich your experience, and make your visit worthwhile."

Jocelyn gave a smile in return.

"Sit down, eat, don’t be so formal," the King said, "Starting from today’s lunch, you’ll be with me."

"Alright."

Then the King turned and left, and Jocelyn sat down.

Taylor felt dejected, what was his father doing? Couldn’t he see that Taylor liked Jocelyn?

Instead of helping create opportunities, how could he even cut off the existent ones?

The King had already had breakfast, and he went to the reading room.

Eden and Arthur continued to accompany him; the two looked like a father-son pair, diligently guarding the King.

"Taylor likes Jocelyn Morgan."

The King paused in front of a row of bookshelves and asked, "Did you two notice?"

Eden and Arthur both nodded, as yesterday evening Prince Taylor wanted to take Miss Morgan horseback riding, and they were there too, the air was filled with palpable goodwill.

The King, with a stern face, said, "It’s best to keep a distance from Justin Kingston’s people." He deliberately said this, directly diverting the attention.

Thus having Jocelyn dine with him seemed to favor Prince Taylor on the surface, but in fact, it was providing convenience for Jocelyn.
