Chapter 1541: Chapter 1541: Witnessing Happiness

Nathan Mills reached out and fiddled with the cable box for a moment, quickly identifying the cause, then said to her in a relaxed tone, "Don’t worry, this is easy to fix, I’ve found the issue."

"Uh-huh." Carlotta Sterling thought to herself, luckily he’s here tonight, otherwise... she would have been scared sick.

She was the kind of person who needed to sleep with the lights on, so her sleep quality was particularly poor.

Tonight, Old Mills was like a hero.

About a minute later, click, the entire house was brightly lit!

It’s done!

Carlotta Sterling finally breathed a sigh of relief, the tension in her whole body dissipating, feeling as if she had just recovered from a serious illness, while feeling incredulous, "You actually know how to fix this?"

When Carlotta released him, she found him staring at her intently with his eyes lowered.

He didn’t answer her question, just had a serious look on his face and she didn’t know what he was thinking.

"Uh..." The woman felt a bit awkward, "Thanks."

"You’re welcome." Nathan Mills quickly covered the cable box and, looking at her once more, noticed that she was still somewhat worried and saw through her anxious thoughts at a glance.

He said, "It’s alright, I’ll stay with you for a while longer. If you’re worried about the voltage not being stable, I can stay with you until Janelle comes back."

They exchanged glances.

Carlotta looked into his deep and dark eyes, looked at his mature and sincere face, and felt a surge of indescribable emotion, feeling a bit bittersweet inside.

But she quickly came back to her senses, "I’ll go check if the water is still boiling." With that, she turned around and walked into the kitchen.

Nathan Mills also withdrew his gaze, inwardly sighing lightly, he went and sat on the sofa in the living room as the woman busied herself in the kitchen.

Time passed second by second, the surroundings exceptionally silent.

Not only were the daughter and son-in-law helping them, but even Heaven was assisting... therefore, he must make the most of tonight.

Recalling her delicate demeanor, it seemed as if her warmth still lingered on him.

Night, tranquil.

It’s almost New Year’s Eve, the leisure plaza at night was practically a light show and the musical fountain danced continuously.

It cooled down again at night, the snow from yesterday hadn’t had time to melt, and now, snowflakes like willow catkins were fluttering in the sky.

Trevor hugged Janelle Mills’ shoulder, accompanying her for a walk along the bluestone path in the plaza, not far away there were pavilions; occasionally some young couples would sit there and snuggle up for a chat.

"Look over there, isn’t someone proposing?" Janelle Mills pointed towards the direction of the small hill where many young people were gathered, applauding and cheering from time to time.

"Let’s go take a look." Trevor led her over to that area.

The location was exactly where Trevor had confessed to Janelle, and those snow lanterns were still there, the string lights on the wintersweet tree continued to flicker with a warm and beautiful glow.

"Darling, would you marry me?!"

From a not-so-close distance, they heard the protagonist’s voice coming through the microphone, as they approached they saw him kneeling on one knee in front of the girl.

"Marry him, marry him, marry him!!" The crowd cheered enthusiastically, clapping in rhythm.

Trevor and Janelle Mills also stood among the crowd, just like recently when others witnessed their moment, they were now witnessing someone else’s happiness.

The girl in the white gown wore a crown, like a princess, she excitedly covered her mouth, "I do." Tears of happiness fell down.

They watched the boy put a ring on the girl, then stood up and hugged her tightly, as if the Prince had embraced his whole world.

Around them, the sound of enthusiastic applause echoed!

Trevor and Janelle Mills’ faces also beamed with smiles of blessing, both clapping to congratulate them, sincerely hoping for their everlasting happiness.
