Chapter 132: Chapter 132 The Ring Meant for Someone Else
This restaurant was extremely popular on social media, attracting visitors from all over the world.
The room was filled with international guests.
Naturally romantic by nature, many of them couldn’t help but watch the scene unfold, eagerly offering their blessings.
Ryan glanced at Samantha before nodding politely to the staff member who had approached their table.
"Thank you."
Whenever the restaurant learned it was a guest’s birthday, it prepared a complimentary gift and special celebration.
The festive arrangement quickly drew the attention of everyone nearby.
Feeling countless eyes on her, Samantha couldn’t help enjoying the sensation of being the center of attention.
"Happy birthday, ma’am," someone nearby called out.
Samantha smiled gently. "Thank you, everyone."
"Are you two a couple?" a woman at a neighboring table asked curiously.
Samantha glanced shyly at Ryan.

Across from her, he maintained his usual composed and dignified demeanor.
The man seated beside the woman laughed.
"They might even be married."
The comment immediately drew more attention.
Many people turned to look at Samantha expectantly.
She chuckled softly and replied ambiguously, "We’re not married yet."
That single word—yet—instantly sparked another round of teasing.
Some spectators joined in enthusiastically.
"With a woman that beautiful, you’d better hurry up and marry her."
"Exactly. The two of you would have gorgeous children."
The conversation quickly shifted toward Ryan.
His refined features remained calm and unreadable.
He merely curved his lips slightly before lifting his glass for a sip.
But he didn’t deny it.
Nor did he correct anyone.
Samantha noticed his reaction.
A flicker of anticipation flashed through her eyes.
Her heart pounded wildly in her chest, but she lowered her gaze shyly and said, "You’re all teasing us. Today’s just my birthday. Besides, if that’s the case, wouldn’t it be strange if neither of us proposed?"
Her tone sounded playful.
Like a joke.
But Rose, standing among the crowd, had witnessed everything.
She could tell.
Samantha was serious.
She wanted to marry Ryan.
She wanted everyone to witness it.
Sure enough, the moment Samantha finished speaking, cheers erupted throughout the restaurant.
Many people praised her confidence and candor.
Others eagerly encouraged her.
"Then let us all be witnesses tonight!"
People from all over the world tended to embrace romance, and they were delighted by the possibility of witnessing a proposal.
Soon, the crowd began clapping.
"Propose!"
"Propose!"
"Propose!"
The chants grew louder and louder.
Samantha and Ryan had become the undeniable stars of the evening.

Even Rose hadn’t expected events to unfold this way.
Standing among the cheering crowd, she watched as her ex-husband and his mistress became the center of everyone’s admiration.
Even though she no longer cared about Ryan, the scene still felt painfully ironic.
Her fingers tightened around the DSLR camera.
They felt cold.
It was as though the past seven years she had spent hidden in the shadows as Mrs. Knight were being publicly mocked.
A reminder of just how pathetic she had once been.
Suddenly, Rose felt a sharp gaze land on her.
She looked up.
Ryan had already spotted her in the crowd.
His expression barely changed.
He didn’t seem bothered in the slightest that his ex-wife was witnessing what appeared to be his long-awaited second chance at love.
Of course, Samantha noticed Rose as well.
A trace of mockery flashed through her eyes.
Tilting her chin slightly, she smiled and picked up the conversation around her.
"Everyone has worked so hard to create such a romantic atmosphere. Wouldn’t it be disappointing if I didn’t do something?"
Though she spoke lightly, her gaze never left Rose.
Her confidence was unmistakable.
In truth, her birthday really did fall on this day.
She had originally come to Hong Kong to discuss a robotics project with the CEO of a major technology company.
But with the atmosphere unfolding so perfectly around her, why not go with the flow?
After all, she wasn’t the one insisting on a proposal.
Everyone else was suggesting it.
And Ryan would never embarrass her in public.
Of that, she was absolutely certain.
Rose could clearly see the challenge hidden beneath Samantha’s smile.
Just then, someone in the crowd pointed toward her.
"Ma’am, since you already have a camera, why don’t you take some pictures of this beautiful couple and help them capture this special moment?"
Dozens of eyes immediately turned toward Rose.
Seeing the DSLR hanging from her shoulder, several people chimed in enthusiastically.
"Yes! I’m sure you’d like to wish them well too."
Samantha smiled silently.
She raised an eyebrow and waited.
She knew exactly what this was.
A public humiliation.
A fresh handful of salt rubbed directly into Rose’s wounds.
Ryan slowly ran his fingertips along the rim of his wineglass.
His gaze remained fixed on Rose.
Yet his expression revealed nothing.

At that moment, the restaurant manager approached carrying a tray.
Smiling warmly, he announced, "This is a gift left behind a month ago by a luxury jewelry brand that filmed a commercial here. We were instructed to give it to the right people when fate presented the opportunity."
He lifted the velvet box.
Inside lay a pair of matching diamond rings.
"If neither of you minds, perhaps they could serve as engagement rings."
The timing was perfect.
The setting was perfect.
The atmosphere was perfect.
Everything seemed to have fallen into place.
A flash of excitement crossed Samantha’s eyes.
Originally, she had only intended to play along with the crowd.
A verbal proposal might not have carried much weight.
But now?
Even the rings had practically fallen into her lap.
Her heart thundered in her chest.
Almost involuntarily, she turned to look at Ryan.
Tonight, she was about to become the center of everyone’s attention.
Meanwhile, Rose nearly laughed from sheer disbelief.
Her eyes, however, remained ice-cold.
To her, this entire scene felt like a public execution.
It was humiliation.
It was torture.
It was a mistress openly flaunting her victory.
Rose didn’t want to stay.
She certainly didn’t want to become the photographer documenting their happiness.
Even if walking away made her look like a sore loser, she no longer cared.
She turned to leave.
Only to walk straight into someone’s chest.
Startled, Rose looked up.
Her gaze collided with Trevor’s deep, unreadable eyes.
She had no idea how long he had been standing there.
Or how much he had overheard.
The moment Ryan saw Trevor, his dark eyes narrowed slightly.
Samantha looked equally surprised.
She immediately stood.
"Mr. Robinson, you—"
Trevor ignored her completely.

Instead, he turned to the restaurant manager.
"Since these two haven’t decided whether they’re getting married," he said calmly, "would you be willing to give those rings to me instead?"
The manager blinked in confusion.
"What would you need the rings for, sir?"
Without answering immediately, Trevor walked over and picked up the diamond ring from the tray.
Then, in full view of the entire restaurant, he returned to Rose’s side.
The crowd gradually fell silent.
Every eye followed him.
Trevor stopped in front of Rose.
His expression remained calm and composed.
His voice was steady and unwavering.
"Ms. Rose Bennett," he said, holding out the ring, "would you consider marrying me?"
