Chapter 121: Chapter 121 She Is my Child’s Mother
The spring breeze brushed against her face, bringing Rose back to her senses.
She hadn’t expected Trevor to have returned to the country.
Opening the car door, she exclaimed in surprise,
"Mr. Robinson? Are you in Washington, D.C., right now?"
Airport announcements could still be heard in the background.
He must have just landed, as the call had come through almost immediately after his arrival.
"I’m in New York," Trevor replied.
Rose was even more surprised.
After all, the Robinson family’s main branch was based in Washington, D.C.
Shouldn’t he have returned to headquarters first to handle business there?
Before she could think it through, Trevor spoke again.
"I have several meetings and public events to attend today. I’ll probably be finished around seven. Are you free this evening?"

After a brief pause, he added, "I’d like to see Ariel. I have an early flight to Hong Kong tomorrow morning."
Trevor’s voice was calm and composed, completely different from Ryan’s detached and indifferent manner.
Glancing at the time, Rose realized that Trevor’s return was also connected to Ariel.
Warmth spread through her heart.
For some reason, she suddenly felt a glimmer of hope.
"I’m free," she replied. "But Ariel is staying at Dr. Nathan’s house. If it’s convenient, would you like to come there tonight?"
It was only a suggestion.
Trevor had no objections.
"Alright. I’ll see you tonight."
Although they weren’t especially close, Ariel connected them in a way that made their relationship different from ordinary acquaintances.
Trevor and Dr. Nathan were also on friendly terms.
In many ways, Ariel had brought all of them together.
During the two years Trevor had spent overseas, Ariel had often been cared for by Dr. Hale and his wife, and everyone had remained in contact.
Rose had always been grateful to Trevor.
Even though she knew he had agreed to become Ariel’s nominal father only to avoid an arranged marriage.
They had both entered the arrangement for their own reasons.

"What’s wrong?"
Caleb noticed the subtle change in Rose’s expression and leaned over curiously.
Rose smiled. "Mr. Robinson is back. He’ll be at Dr. Hale’s house tonight."
She glanced at him. "Want to come?"
Caleb looked surprised. "When did he get back?"
Rose thought for a moment. "He just got off the plane. He’s still at the airport."
Caleb gave her a meaningful look. "He called you the moment he landed?"
Lowering her head to send Diana a message, Rose replied without looking up, "What’s that supposed to mean?"
Caleb chuckled and shook his head as he gripped the steering wheel. "Nothing."
Then he added with a grin, "Just get along well."
Rose didn’t have time to analyze his expression.
Diana had already replied with a string of question marks.
The next message came immediately afterward.
[Trevor is back? When? Already?]
Rose typed back: [You didn’t know either?]
Diana replied: [Does he look like the type who reports everything to me?]
Rose considered it.
Fair point.
Trevor had contacted her because the matter involved Ariel.
But...

Her gaze drifted back toward the conference venue.
Thinking about it only gave her a headache.
The issue with the divorce certificate had come completely out of nowhere.
Margaret had shown no mercy, and Ryan still hadn’t managed to retrieve it.
Even with Trevor back in the country, Ariel’s legal custody status couldn’t be resolved immediately.
The thought made Rose grit her teeth in frustration.
Inwardly, she cursed Ryan.
His romantic complications were interfering with matters that truly mattered.
*****
Trevor was genuinely busy that day.
A mountain of work awaited him after his return.
The company had new strategic initiatives to implement, and he also had a business dinner scheduled for that evening.
The driver sent to pick him up was a new employee.
Seeing Trevor end his phone call, the driver smiled.
"Mr. Robinson, checking in with your girlfriend?"
Trevor loosened the top button of his shirt as he settled into the back seat.
His expression didn’t change. "No."
After a brief pause, he added calmly, "She’s the mother of my child."
The driver froze. "You’re married?"
*****
Samantha was not in a particularly good mood after the approval conference.
Even though she convinced herself that Rose’s recognition had been purchased through influence, the fact remained that it had been officially awarded.
She simply couldn’t accept that such an enormous opportunity had fallen into Rose’s lap.
Oliver spoke bluntly. "Real ability is what matters in the long run."
He continued, "Ryan and James are attending an investor dinner tonight. Your project is about to start assembling a team, so this would be a good opportunity to network."
A thought crossed Samantha’s mind.
She looked at Ryan with a gentle smile. "Ryan, would you be available tonight?"
Ryan had just finished a business call.
Hearing her voice, he looked up.
He didn’t mind Samantha leveraging his connections.
"I’m available."
James understood Ryan’s attitude perfectly.
A man’s love wasn’t measured by sweet words.
It was reflected in the resources, opportunities, and support he provided.
Adults didn’t survive on empty promises.
And Ryan had never been stingy with Samantha.
James frowned.
The sooner Rose gave up on Ryan, the better.
*****
The dinner began at seven that evening.
Dressed in an elegant evening gown, Samantha arrived with Ryan and James.

Many guests had already gathered inside the venue.
As soon as James entered the banquet hall, he spotted a familiar figure surrounded by people.
His eyes widened slightly. "Trevor?"
Ryan glanced over as well.
Among the crowd stood a man who naturally commanded attention.
Trevor Robinson.
Having moved within these circles for years, Samantha naturally knew his name, though she had never met him in person.
"Isn’t Mr. Robinson overseas expanding the Robinson family’s international business?" she asked.
James looked puzzled. "That’s what I heard too. Logically, he shouldn’t be back until the end of the year."
According to family rumors, Trevor had gone abroad to oversee a major expansion project.
Ryan said nothing.
He simply lifted his gaze and nodded toward the approaching man.
"Mr. Robinson. It’s been a long time."
James turned.
Trevor had already walked over.
He looked exactly as James remembered.
Cold.
Reserved.
Difficult to approach.
Trevor paused briefly when he saw Ryan.
"Mr. Knight."
Only then did he turn to James. "Mr. Taylor. I didn’t expect to see you in New York."
Samantha smiled. "You two know each other well?"
James shook Trevor’s hand. "Our families arranged a marriage alliance years ago. We may become relatives someday."
It was something they had known since childhood.
If his younger sister hadn’t disappeared all those years ago, the two families might already have become one.
Trevor didn’t deny it.
Nor did he show any interest in discussing it further.
Smiling politely, Samantha linked her arm through Ryan’s and extended her hand toward Trevor.
"Mr. Robinson, it’s a pleasure to meet you. My name is Samantha Hill."
Just then, Trevor’s phone rang.
He took it out and glanced at the screen.
Then he looked up at Samantha and gave a brief nod.
Samantha’s outstretched hand stiffened slightly.
She immediately reassured herself.
Surely he hadn’t ignored her on purpose.
He probably hadn’t noticed.
Or perhaps the message was important.

A message had indeed appeared on Trevor’s screen.
It was from Rose.
[Mr. Robinson, are you busy right now? Ariel knows you’re back and insists on picking you up herself. Would that be inconvenient?]
Ariel truly was a spirited little girl.
After finishing work, Rose had picked her up from kindergarten and taken her directly to Dr. Hale’s residence.
When Rose told her Trevor had returned and would be leaving for Hong Kong again tomorrow, Ariel had immediately said, "Then I need to spend more time with him. I’ll start by picking him up from work."
The little girl loved creating special moments.
She was full of enthusiasm and ceremony.
Not wanting to discourage her, Rose decided to ask Trevor first.
Just as she was thinking about it, her phone vibrated.
Trevor had sent her his real-time location.
A message followed: [Tell Ariel she’s welcome to come anytime.]
