Lily had summarized a pattern from a young age:
The more she worried that something would happen, the less likely it was to occur.
For example, when she had to sign a test paper with her parents’ signature after failing, or when she left a small toy in her bedroom and feared her parents might find it. Despite always being worried, her mother had never entered her room without permission, even when small mistakes happened.
This led to a decreased sense of caution. Over the winter break, she had even revealed her succubus form in front of her mother.
Fortunately, her parents weren’t entirely unaware of succubi. Although they scolded her harshly like any typical parents, they didn’t throw away all her "toys."
After all, compared to other succubi who threw wild "parties," Lily was considered quite innocent.
So, while she was still anxious, she didn’t think there was a forgotten toy hidden in the corner of her bedroom that Qianqian might discover.
This allowed her enough time to tidy up the takeout boxes and place the trash by the elevator door in the hallway, before leisurely walking into her bedroom.
In the bedroom, Ning Chu and Wen Yang were sitting cross-legged on the floor, their faces excited as they played a two-player co-op game. Qianqian sat at a nearby computer, peering over their shoulders to watch.
"Left, left! Quick, dodge!"
"Hey! That was so close! If it were me, I would've dodged..."
"Hit it! Use your ultimate on it!"
Although Qianqian wasn’t actually playing, she was excitedly commenting like an expert, clenching her fists, looking even more nervous than Ning Chu, who was actually in the game.
"Stop talking! The more you talk, the worse I play!"
Finally, Ning Chu couldn’t take it anymore. She lifted her head and glared at Qianqian, “If you’re so good, then you try!”
Seeing Ning Chu getting upset, Qianqian quickly shrank her neck and turned to Lily, who had just entered the room. “Lily, can I play on your computer?”
"Mm," Lily replied absentmindedly, sitting at the foot of the bed, staring at the game on the TV screen.
Every time Ning Chu came to her house, she always focused on the game consoles. Lily didn’t really understand the appeal of these shoot-'em-up games, and after playing for half an hour, she was usually exhausted.
She preferred playing something like "Butter."
"Hey, Lily," Ning Chu suddenly paused the game and looked back, "Didn’t you bring back that octopus?"
"No."
"What if it escaped?"
"It’s locked in the cabinet."
"Oh~"
After seeing Qianqian use magic to make her suitcase follow her like a dog, Ning Chu began to understand why Lily kept that tentacle monster around.
It was indeed pretty convenient...
If a magical girl could become more beautiful, use convenient spells, and have self-defense # Nоvеlight # magic in case of bad guys, then, with that tentacle monster locked up in a cup, barely alive, just there as a decoration, Ning Chu could understand why she wouldn’t want to throw it away.
Though, Ning Chu still suspected Lily might be hiding something else.
"Shao Qing and Qianqian’s here." Wen Yang’s phone vibrated, and he looked down to see a message from Zhang Shaoqing. "I’m going downstairs to meet them. Are you still playing?"
"Sure."
Lily took the controller that Wen Yang handed her and sat in his seat.
"The cleaning’s all done. Consider it a favor for Shaoqing..." Ning Chu mumbled, "I endured the pain in my feet and still did the cleaning, and now he shows up."
"Even if he came with us, he would’ve just sat there watching us clean," Wen Yang disagreed with Ning Chu’s complaint. "I’ve never seen him do cleaning when we were in the dorms."
"After all, he’s a rich kid, never lifting a finger—thick-skinned too."
Ning Chu sarcastically commented on Zhang Shaoqing, even though the guy couldn’t hear her at that moment.
"I’ll go meet them."
As Wen Yang turned to leave, Ning Chu looked at Lily. "Lily, want to familiarize yourself with the controls?"
She noticed Lily’s expression suddenly changed, her gaze fixed on Qianqian, who was sitting at the computer desk.
Following Lily’s eyes, Ning Chu saw Qianqian blushing deeply, her face completely red with embarrassment.
There had to be something on the computer screen that shouldn’t be there!
Qianqian, trying to avoid looking at anyone, kept glancing at the screen, her face filled with both shyness and curiosity. She was so engrossed in the screen that she didn’t notice the looks from Ning Chu and Lily.
Ning Chu guessed that Qianqian wasn’t the type to snoop through other people’s files, so there must be something on Lily’s desktop that could make a girl blush so furiously.
She teasingly winked at Lily, who usually had a cold demeanor, but now had a rare blush creeping up her cheeks. Lily quickly averted her gaze, looking guilty.
"Did I start the game?"
Lily calmly nodded, though she knew exactly what Qianqian had seen...
Since her parents never touched her computer, her desktop wallpaper was an inappropriate, lewd anime image—an absurdly risque picture of a girl with her legs spread wide and the door wide open.
But there was no turning back now. She couldn’t exactly use magic to erase Qianqian’s memory, could she?
"Lily! I’ve wiped down the table!"
Just then, Yan Xinya rushed into the room, causing Qianqian to jump and quickly switch the screen to a browser.
As soon as Yan Xinya entered, she immediately sensed the strange atmosphere in the room.
Qianqian, still blushing and unable to raise her head, while the usually cold Lily now had a noticeable look of discomfort. Ning Chu couldn’t help but smile teasingly, her expression as sweet as a little devil.
"What’s going on?"
"Nothing," Lily said, her ears red as she hurriedly stood up, shoving the game controller into Yan Xinya’s hands. "I’m going to the bathroom."
She practically fled the room, and Qianqian, feeling guilty, quickly shut down the computer, curling up in the chair with her arms around her knees.
"How strange~" Yan Xinya’s wolf ears twitched, clearly confused. "Did you do something bad to her?"
Ning Chu, still playing the game, shook her head in denial. "What could I have done to her?"
"That was Qianqian?"
Qianqian, with her face still red, buried half of her face in her arm, leaving only her big eyes exposed. "..."
"Did you discover something?!"
Yan Xinya suddenly got excited.
"Uh..." Qianqian, trying to keep Lily’s secret, shook her head like a rattle drum, almost shaking out a blurry afterimage. "No!"
Heaven knew that the ice-cold goddess she had admired used such a wallpaper on her computer!
It did suit a succubus’s identity though...
A cold-on-the-outside, yet sultry succubus?
"I’m shocked! Your place is pretty luxurious! Way better than mine!"
Ning Chu’s pointed ears twitched slightly as she heard noise coming from the living room.
She put the controller down and stood up, peering out the door.
Sure enough, it was Zhang Shaoqing...
"Yo!"
As soon as she noticed him, the shameless guy had spotted her peeking from around the corner. "I heard there’s a game console here! I—"
"Weren’t we supposed to go shopping?" Qianqian suddenly interrupted.
Zhang Shaoqing sighed in defeat, "I’m really tired. Can’t we rest a bit first?"
Though he was still as energetic and shameless as usual, Ning Chu could tell his steps were more sluggish than usual, and his face looked off.
How pitiful, he was supposed to be the second lead villain! So weak! Even a catgirl in heat could handle more than this!
