Later that night, after finishing her writing, Ning Chu lay on her bed, refreshing the school forum on her phone over and over.

The forum was the place for all the latest gossip on campus—whether it was fights, cheating scandals, or even stolen delivery food, you could find it here.

She didn’t have any other sources for information.

As for the idea of wandering around campus at night in search of a tentacle monster... she wasn’t that foolish. In horror movies, people like that were the first to die.

Half an hour of refreshing the forum yielded no news about any tentacle monster.

Even if the school was trying to keep things under wraps, there should have been some kind of buzz on the forum, right?

With that thought, Ning Chu felt a lot more at ease.

In the book, the tentacle monster had already started causing havoc on campus, and then the magical girl arrived to take care of it. Maybe reality was playing out a little differently.

The bed shook slightly as a tall figure sat beside her. Without looking up, Ning Chu casually reminded him, “When you go to the store later, pick up a new set of bed sheets.”

“These sheets are so dirty; they feel really uncomfortable...”

Even though Ning Chu was wearing pajamas, the dampness on the sheets made her feel uneasy.

“Weren’t you the one who got them dirty in the first place? Why complain?”

Her face flushed slightly, and she turned her head away from Wen Yang.

A warm, rough hand settled gently on her waist, fingers slipping under her shirt to touch her stomach.

“Stop it.”

For once, Ning Chu pressed down on Wen Yang’s hand, stopping his wandering.

Ever since their first time, she’d found it harder and harder to resist Wen Yang’s advances. Even when she tried to push him away, it was more in an inviting way.

As a succubus, even a few suggestive touches made her body go weak, completely ignoring her brain’s commands.

But tonight, she just wasn’t in the mood.

Her mind kept returning to thoughts of whether a girl had already been targeted by a tentacle monster—the very creature she had conjured up in her writing. The guilt weighed heavily on her.

Seeing the troubled look on her face, Wen Yang withdrew his hand, softly reassuring her, “Don’t worry so much. There hasn’t been any news, right?”

“I know...”

“I’ll head down to buy the sheets now.”

“Go on, and get me an egg pancake and milk tea too.”

Wen Yang paused, raising an eyebrow. “Didn’t you say you were full earlier? And didn’t you mention wanting to diet?”

“Ugh, I just feel like eating something... I’m annoyed.”

With a touch of a pout in her voice, her tone carried a hint of sweetness that made his breath hitch, irresistible.

“Alright, alright.” He sighed, grabbing his umbrella by the door. “I’ll leave my key here. Let me in when I get back.”

“Got it~”

Once Wen Yang left, the only sound in the room was Ning Chu’s quiet breathing. She lay on her side, staring out the window, listening to the rain, which calmed her nerves somewhat, though the thought of her clothes not drying in the next few days irked her again.

Though she was now a girl, she still only had a few sets of clothes. If her mom hadn’t bought her more, she’d still only have three outfits like before.

The forecast said this rain would continue on and off for about a week...

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.

Ning Chu sat up and quickly ran to the door, grumbling, “Can’t you just bring a key with you? Did you forget your umbrella too?”

She ran to the door, opened it, and froze when she saw who was outside.

Standing there was the red-haired girl from next door, dressed provocatively. Black stockings clung to her legs, outlining her slender, youthful curves, and the sheer fabric even revealed a hint of her belly button.

Her skirt barely covered her thighs, and she wore a white lace garter around her leg. The strapless top, even on her A-cup figure, managed to create some cleavage. The entire outfit looked more risqué than any lingerie.

With a confident air, the girl proclaimed, “Surrender yourself!”

“???”

Ning Chu was stunned for a second, and before she could react, the girl pointed a large, ornate magic staff at her throat, a soft glow emitting from its tip.

Her mind went blank. She was completely frozen, unsure of how to react, her face showing nothing but pure bewilderment.

A magical girl?

Is this her battle outfit or something?

Do magical girls have missions to hunt succubi?!

Outside, Qian Qian looked just as confused, staring at the clueless and bewildered succubus inside the room. She tried channeling her magic, but, strangely, it had no effect on the succubus.

They stared at each other in silence, the damp air thick with awkwardness.

“Um... do you need something?”

Ning Chu finally broke the silence.

Qian Qian lowered her staff, a blush quickly spreading up her neck to her face, even reaching her ears.

“Well, um...” She hugged her staff tightly, mumbling as she glanced at the black cat by her feet, giving it a gentle nudge with her foot.

It’s all this cat’s fault! If her magic wasn’t working, this must just be an ordinary person!

“You’re... not an evil being!”

The cat suddenly spoke, making Ning Chu jump and take a few steps back.

What the heck! A talking cat?!

But hey, if my cat can turn into a cat-girl...

That thought flitted through her mind, and her panic gradually subsided.

A talking cat? A cat-girl Black Bean would be even weirder.

“This doesn’t make sense...” The black cat paced back and forth in the hallway, its four paws somehow conveying the gait of an old man with hands behind his back, muttering in a gender-neutral voice, “I can clearly sense an aura of lust coming off her. Both of us felt it...”

Lust...

Ning Chu averted her gaze, looking slightly embarrassed.

As a succubus, it’s natural to have a bit of... well, allure, right?

“And her soul is definitely from another world. It’s the same one that descended half a year ago. How is this possible?”

“Why are you asking me? If the magic doesn’t work, how could she be an evil being?”

“...”

Finally, Ning Chu’s muddled thoughts started to make sense. They had mistaken ❀ Nоvеlігht ❀ (Don’t copy, read here) her for an evil creature.

Come to think of it, the criteria for an “evil being” was coming from another world and possessing a human body... which she matched perfectly!

No wonder this girl had been following her around today.

So the tentacle monster is actually... me?!

Watching the girl and the cat argue outside the door, the weight on Ning Chu’s shoulders finally lifted.

There really isn’t a tentacle monster on campus, is there? This magical girl came here for her!

After a few minutes of arguing, Qian Qian looked up, her face full of embarrassment and apology. “Sorry for scaring you... It was all a misunderstanding.”

“What’s going on here?”

Wen Yang’s voice echoed from the hallway.

Ning Chu immediately reacted, grabbing Qian Qian’s arm and pulling her inside, calling out, “Wait outside for a moment!”

Qian Qian stumbled into the room, looking panicked. “What are you doing?!”

Could she really be an evil being?!

“Change your clothes! You’re dressed so provocatively, and you want my boyfriend to see you like this?!”

Ning Chu’s jealousy flared as she glared at Qian Qian’s skintight battle outfit.

“Oh... okay...”
