During the ten-minute break in English class, Ning Chu couldn’t wait any longer for the end of the school day.
“Quick, go to the pharmacy!”
Yan Xinya’s teasing had left her in a panicked frenzy, convinced more than ever that she might actually be pregnant.
The thought was terrifying!
Wen Yang stood up instantly and sprinted out of the classroom, racing toward the school pharmacy.
Ning Chu sat in the classroom, restless and full of worry, glancing down at the school website’s rules and regulations, trying to figure out what she’d do if it turned out to be true.
While the regulations didn’t specifically mention expulsion or academic suspension due to pregnancy, she found a few cases on the school forum.
This is a disaster...
If she kept it, there was no way she and Wen Yang could afford to raise a child. She’d have to rely on her mother again.
Last semester, she’d left “daughter” Hei Dou in her mother’s care, and now she’d be coming home pregnant... Her mom would kill her!
Should she call her mom to give her a heads-up?
Seeing her nervous fidgeting, Yan Xinya started to feel a little guilty and muttered, “I was just kidding, you know... Don’t take it seriously...”
“But I really have been feeling strange lately!”
At first, Ning Chu hadn’t thought much of it, but now the late period, low flow, and craving for sour foods all seemed like pregnancy symptoms.
At least she wasn’t feeling nauseous or throwing up—that would be undeniable proof!
“Could it be something else?”
“I don’t know... Let’s wait for Wen Yang.”
She couldn’t sit still any longer, so she got up and walked out of the classroom, pacing back and forth in the hallway and occasionally peering down the road, hoping to see Wen Yang.
Yan Xinya and Lily followed her outside, keeping her company.
“Blame it on Xinya,” said Lily, even her usually icy face showing some concern.
The wolf girl looked down, guilt written all over her face, too ashamed to say anything.
It wasn’t long before Wen Yang came bounding up the stairs.
“So fast?”
“I went to the infirmary.”
Ning Chu hurried over, accepting the pregnancy test and disposable cup Wen Yang handed her. She glanced at Wen Yang’s warm, gentle smile, which calmed her nerves slightly, then rushed off toward the restroom.
“Wait, do you know how to use it?”
“I’ll look it up online!”
Wen Yang followed Ning Chu to the restroom door, watching her small figure disappear inside, his smile fading as he knitted his brows in worry.
He sighed softly, his emotions tangled in a mess, his mind too cluttered with feelings to think clearly.
After a moment, he snapped out of it and called over to Yan Xinya and Lily. “Can you two keep an eye on her? If she gets too worked up, she might faint.”
It was still break time, and the girls’ restroom was packed. As a guy, he couldn’t exactly barge in.
“Oh, right, we’re on it!”
Yan Xinya snapped out of her daze, pulling Lily along as they ran into the restroom.
Not long after, the bell signaling the end of break rang.
Wen Yang paced anxiously in the hallway, muttering, “What’s taking so long...”
If she was really pregnant, would they keep it or terminate it? Ning Chu had always been against the idea of having children, right?
In hindsight, he probably shouldn’t have gone along with Ning Chu’s whims. That little succubus was always completely unrestrained in bed, with only one thing on her mind...
“Wen Yang!”
He froze, took a deep breath, and hid his nervousness behind a warm smile. “So? What’s the result?”
Ning Chu came bounding out of the restroom, waving the test at him. “One line! It’s fine!”
“Blame it on Xinya for scaring me!”
“Good, glad it’s nothing...”
Ning Chu leaned closer, whispering, “We have to be careful from now on! I don’t want to go through that again—it was terrifying!”
“Told you it’d be fine~”
At the sound of Yan Xinya’s voice, Ning Chu turned, grabbed the wolf girl’s big ears, and tugged. “You have the nerve to talk!”
“Ouch! Ouch!”
“Why’d you scare me like that?”
“Well, it was suspicious! I was just suggesting a possibility!”
Ning Chu’s smile faded as she looked at Wen Yang. “Should we go to the hospital just to be sure?”
“Yes! Definitely!”
Pregnancy tests could be wrong, and her nerves started acting up again.
“The next class has already started... Should we go back? We’ll still have time to go to the hospital after we’re done around four.”
“No problem. I’ll get Qianqian to skip roll call.”
Ning Chu glanced at the wolf girl, and Yan Xinya nodded quickly. “I’ll talk to her; you two go without worrying!”
“Feels like you’re jinxing me...”
She muttered, heading off with Wen Yang.
Although the school was in a mountainous suburb, it was only an hour’s drive to the nearest secondary hospital.
Though not top-tier, it would be fine for a basic checkup.
Upon arriving, Ning Chu clung tightly to Wen Yang’s arm, her gaze wary as she glanced around nervously.
Hospitals were like a minefield in certain fantasy stories!
Reclining on a gynecologist’s chair with the curtain drawn... You never knew what might happen...
Even physical therapy and massages in these stories often took that same approach.
Fortunately, Wen Yang was with her, his main-character aura offering some protection. Plus, she probably wouldn’t need the gynecologist’s chair this time.
Growing up, Ning Chu had always been accompanied by family to the hospital, so she was unfamiliar with the procedure. She simply followed Wen Yang, watching him handle everything.
After completing all the tests, they finally sat down with the doctor. Ning Chu felt like she was awaiting a final judgment.
If she was really pregnant...
“Hasn’t your family ever told you?” °• N 𝑜 v 𝑒 l i g h t •° The doctor looked up from the test results and glanced at the succubus sitting across from him.
Ning Chu blinked in surprise.
About contraception? Her mother had certainly emphasized that...
“You’re about to grow horns, which is causing a hormonal imbalance and pseudo-pregnancy symptoms.”
“!!!”
“Horns?!”
Ning Chu froze, instinctively touching the top of her head, her anxiety and panic suddenly dissipating.
Oh, so it’s just horns growing~
Wait—horns?!
Ning Chu didn’t know whether to feel relieved or frustrated.
A tail was one thing, but horns were just a little too non-human, and they were such an obvious feature. It made her look like an unmistakable otherworldly creature, which she struggled to accept.
But somehow, now, it didn’t feel as hard to accept?
At least she wasn’t pregnant...
She turned to Wen Yang, who was standing behind her, and saw his barely contained joy.
Oh, steering wheel, are we? Why are you so happy about this?!
Her mouth twitched as she asked the doctor, “So, what kind of horns will they be?”
“Well, that depends on your family history.”
Her mother didn’t have horns, so maybe her grandmother...
A vision of her grandmother’s curled ram-like horns flashed through Ning Chu’s mind, reminiscent of a goat’s horns in a game she’d played in her previous life.
I was a perfectly normal human guy, and now, one step at a time, I’ve turned into a succubus with horns and a heart-shaped tail, living as some guy’s plaything...
