Ah~ so much for abstaining from indulgence~

In broad daylight, no less. Fortunately, the sound of water in the bathroom helped mask the noise, and she did her best to keep her lips sealed.

Although it wasn’t entirely her choice this time, she had to admit that a bit of relief left her brain feeling much more awake.

Though her body felt rather worn out.

She dressed herself tiredly, collapsing onto the bed like a ragdoll that had been played with a bit too harshly. Her mind swirled with the lingering fragments of the storyline she’d written.

In it, the antagonist would say something like, “You wouldn’t want anyone to know there’s a girl staying in a boy’s dormitory, would you?” to pressure the girl into submission, effectively overpowering the protagonist... and later sneaking into her bed at midnight when everyone else was asleep.

Although Zhang Shaoqing hadn’t turned into a villain yet and was still just a clueless, naïve guy, she worried he might actually start having those twisted thoughts.

Too terrifying!

And Zhang Shaoqing had indeed come back! He probably hadn’t overheard anything, but it was almost certain he guessed what she and Wen Yang had been doing.

Writing it had been fun, but now that the plot from her novel seemed to be happening to her, she couldn’t muster any excitement as she slipped into the role of the girl. If anything, it made her feel sick.

Wen Yang’s bed carried a faint, unfamiliar scent—definitely Zhang Shaoqing’s... which only made her more restless lying there. But she was exhausted, barely able to get up, much less make her way to bed without Wen Yang’s help.

Meanwhile, Wen Yang looked completely refreshed, showing no signs of fatigue.

“I’ll go outside for a bit. Shaoqing’s probably still waiting.”

He glanced at Ning Chu, her cheeks still tinted a soft peach, her eyes unfocused, lips parted as she caught her breath in small gasps. His gaze lingered a little too long, his spirits rising again.

A fierce possessiveness surged within him. He didn’t want any other man to see Ning Chu in this state. After a moment, he added, “I’ll take him to the internet café for a bit. Why don’t you rest up and head back later?”

“Mm, got it...”

Wen Yang paused at the door, smirking as he looked back at Ning Chu. “How about we follow that novel of yours sometime?”

Those exciting scenes were all things Ning Chu had imagined herself, which meant that deep down, she might want to experience them too, right?

“No way!”

Ning Chu found the energy to shake her head vigorously, almost leaving afterimages as she did so.

She did want to experience it! But only from a man’s perspective!

After all, back then, she had always written from the viewpoint of the male lead! She’d had no clue she’d become the non-existent female protagonist from her own story!

But... it did sound pretty exciting...

“Absolutely not!”

“Alright, alright.”

Seeing her reaffirm her refusal, Wen Yang’s gentle smile grew, though it took on a slightly predatory edge.

After spending so much time together, he could tell she was tempted, but her lips only softened when they were kissing.

“Did it feel good?”

“Psh~ just average.”

Ning Chu scoffed, turning her back to him. “Weakling~”

If only it weren’t almost time to go to work...

Wen Yang gave her a quick, teasing squeeze before heading out the door, making her glare at him as he left. Outside, he immediately spotted Zhang Shaoqing sitting on the stairwell.

Judging by the number of cigarette butts on the ground, it seemed the guy had gotten impatient.

“Oh, you finally decided to show up?” Zhang Shaoqing looked up, casting Wen Yang a resentful glance. “I’ve been waiting out here for nearly two hours! You’re not even human! I’m freezing to death!”

“Good stamina.”

Zhang Shaoqing rolled his eyes at him. “Hanging around Ning Chu has really upped your sleazy talk, hasn’t it?”

Damn it, he was so envious~

Despite being a rich kid, he was still a virgin! He could never hope to last that long! Wen Yang was probably a bit sick in the head and should see a doctor!

“Ning Chu says you’re a bad influence.”

“Bullshit! She’s slandering me!”

Zhang Shaoqing stood up from the stairs, coughing twice. “If I get lung cancer, it’s on you two.”

“Then stop smoking.”

Seeing him head for the room, Wen Yang grabbed him by the arm. “Come on, I’ll take you to the internet café.”

“Don’t you have work?”

“There’s one near the restaurant I work at. You can hang out there this afternoon.”

As he spoke, Wen Yang watched Zhang Shaoqing closely.

He knew the plot Ning Chu had mentioned and how Zhang Shaoqing in her novel had overpowered him countless times. But now, all he saw on Zhang Shaoqing’s face was annoyance and frustration, with no hint of attraction toward Ning Chu.

The two of them walked downstairs together, with Wen Yang asking out of curiosity, “Weren’t you working? Why’d you come back?”

Zhang Shaoqing scowled. “Damn kid ran into me and made me spill the food on a customer. I got yelled at twice!”

“I couldn’t stand it, so I quit!”

Wen Yang shook his head, helpless. “So what’s your plan now?”

“Going home! My family’s loaded; why should I work?” Zhang Shaoqing cursed again, then threw an arm around Wen Yang’s shoulders, grinning mischievously.

“What is it?” Wen Yang frowned, sensing that this guy was up to no good.

“You two owe me dinner tonight! I’ve been waiting out in the cold for two hours; don’t I deserve a meal?”

Zhang Shaoqing was usually the one treating everyone to meals, so it was unusual for him to ask someone else.

“Are you out of money? Didn’t you say you’d budget enough to last until the semester starts?”

He scratched his head. “I’m used to spending big; I don’t know how, but I’ve burned through it all...”

“This is only the third day, right?”

“Don’t ask. You’ll have to cover my internet expenses too.”

Wen Yang reluctantly dialed Ning Chu. “Hey, honey, could you transfer me twenty bucks...”

“Oh~ calling her honey now, are we?”

“It’s for Shaoqing’s internet fees; he’s out of cash.”

Zhang Shaoqing leaned over, smirking and nudging Wen Yang. “Man, you’re whipped~ handing over all your cash even before getting married?”

“A real man should stand his ground! Look at that henpecked expression!”

He paused, adding fuel to the fire, “Ask for a few hundred more, and I’ll show you a good time tonight! Cat girls, fox girls, whatever you like~”

“You don’t even know; some bars have bunny girls pole dancing~ it’s wild!”

Wen Yang shot a glare at the cheeky guy beside him. “Ning Chu says if you keep babbling, she’ll throw your suitcase out.”

“What?! She wouldn’t dare!” Zhang Shaoqing’s face turned pale, and he shouted into Wen Yang’s phone, “I’m sorry! I’m sorry! Don’t throw it out!”

“Tch~”

Back in bed, Ning Chu rolled her eyes at the sound of his pleading.

She pushed herself up, leaning against the headboard as she fiddled with her phone. “I sent it over.”

So there really were bunny girls pole dancing...

She felt a faint curiosity stirring, not because she was particularly into it, given that she was now on the receiving end of such matters, but she was still curious!

A strange and subtle sensation stirred in her lower abdomen, making Ning Chu furrow her brows. She ended the call, dragged her exhausted body out of bed, and opened Wen Yang’s suitcase to pull out a few hidden “items.”

It was the plot’s punishment... It seemed Zhang Shaoqing hadn’t developed any special feelings for her after all.

So much for abstinence. Twice in one day.
