Wen Yang sat at the bedside, pulling the blanket over the naked little succubus beside him.

Ning Chu was still a bit dazed, her brain seemingly frozen, her lips slightly parted, and her cheeks flushed with a vivid, alluring blush. She panted softly, clearly out of breath.

This time, she didn’t pass out, but her body was too weak to move.

Luckily, she didn’t have any particularly heavy tastes, and nothing too extreme, like in those crazy harem novels, happened.

Otherwise, it wouldn’t be just weakness she’d be feeling—she might not even survive.

Her slightly glazed eyes gradually regained focus, and she realized Wen Yang had been staring at her the whole time, making her feel so embarrassed that she curled up, pulling the blanket to cover her exposed pale skin.

“Why are you staring at me like that...”

Although she had been very proactive just moments before, afterward, she reverted back to a shy little girl.

Wen Yang loved this embarrassed, easily flustered side of her, and he couldn’t help teasing her, “How about we go again?”

“No!”

Recalling how Ning Chu had been trembling in silence, yet her face had been filled with pleasure, Wen Yang felt an urge to continue. But, unfortunately, the little succubus didn’t seem up for it.

Not pushing further, Wen Yang stood up and asked, “How about I carry you to take a bath?”

“I can do it myself.”

“It’s not like I haven’t bathed you before.”

The last time, Wen Yang had been in full-on berserk mode, and Ning Chu had passed out completely.

Ning Chu shook her head in refusal, carefully trying to stand up, but her legs gave way, and she fell back onto the floor.

Sighing, Wen Yang walked over and scooped her up, throwing her over his shoulder despite her long legs flailing wildly. He carried her straight into the bathroom.

“No! I can do it myself!”

“Don’t touch me!”

“Hey!”

Being bathed by Wen Yang, inside and out, while fully conscious, Ning Chu’s embarrassment was at its peak.

“All done.”

She hurried out of the bathroom, grabbed a towel from the wall to wrap around herself, and quickly jumped into bed, hiding under the covers.

Wen Yang followed her out, noticing her flushed face and red ears. He suddenly realized this was the perfect opportunity to ask her something.

In truth, interrogating her during a dual-player game might have been even more effective, but he hadn’t thought of it at the time. Now, looking back, he realized he had missed out on some fun.

But that would’ve been too calculated, bordering on sleazy...

Wen Yang intentionally didn’t wear any underwear as he sat back down on the bed. Ning Chu glanced at him, then immediately looked away, awkwardly scooting a bit farther from him.

“Pervert.”

Even though she looked away, her eyes were clearly darting around, with her peripheral vision still focused on him.

“Ning Chu, I want to ask you something.”

“I don’t want to talk to a pervert... And I’m not doing anything else tonight, I’m exhausted.”

If it hadn’t been for the subtle way her waist shifted restlessly under the blanket, Wen Yang might have believed the succubus’s lie.

He carefully chose his words before asking, “I’ve noticed that a lot of the time, if something’s about to happen to me, you seem to know in advance. Is that true?”

“Huh?”

“It’s like what you wrote in your novel—as if I’m just a character in it... like a harem novel protagonist.”

Ning Chu froze for a moment, turning her head away in guilt.

She hadn’t gone out of her way to hide it, so she had anticipated Wen Yang would get suspicious eventually. She just hadn’t expected it to happen this soon.

It didn’t help that Wen Yang had seen her semi-autobiographical novel. If not for that, he might never have considered such a ridiculous possibility.

“I saw you reading that harem novel before, back in the dorm. The main character had the same name as me.”

Mentioning the harem novel made Ning Chu feel waves of embarrassment, like a deep, dark history being uncovered... But after what had just happened between them, with her body still bare and having been washed inside and out, it somehow didn’t seem quite as unbearable anymore.

Wen Yang carefully observed her, noticing that Ning Chu was avoiding eye contact, her eyes flickering but not reacting too strongly.

He sighed in relief before continuing with a mix of curiosity and anxiety, “So... am I really the protagonist in the harem novel you wrote?”

“Well...”

Ning Chu hesitated, unsure whether to tell a little white lie to put his mind at ease or to be completely honest.

She worried that Wen Yang’s worldview might collapse, leading him to spiral into despair.

After a brief moment of silence, she decided to trust him, as always, believing in his ability to handle the truth.

“Don’t overthink it... You’re nothing like the guy in the novel,” Ning Chu murmured, turning her head slightly, “But you’re right.”

Wen Yang was stunned, unsure of how to react or what expression to make.

“Here, let me show you...” Ning Chu reached for her phone, unlocking an encrypted document. She handed the phone to Wen Yang, her face flushed as she warned, “I wrote it ages ago... Don’t laugh at me.”

“......”

Over the next few hours, Wen Yang read through Ning Chu’s harem novel from beginning to end. When he finally set the phone down, he glanced at Ning Chu, who was sitting at the desk, absentmindedly playing Billion Zombies.

The writing was good, with plenty of variety. He was almost tempted to reenact some of the scenes from the book with Ning Chu...

Sensing his gaze, Ning Chu paused her game and nervously turned around, stammering as she asked, “So... what do you think?”

“What do you mean?”

“What’s going through your mind right now...” Ning Chu asked, her voice filled with guilt and insecurity. She pulled her legs up onto the chair, hugging her knees as she whispered, “If I had known back then, I would’ve written you as a rich second-generation heir.”

“So I’d be the rich husband, huh?”

“?”

She looked up in confusion.

How could he still be joking at a time like this?

Realizing that his life had been predetermined as part of a “character setting,” and that his past struggles were merely plot points she had whimsically created, Wen Yang should be having a crisis. His worldview should be shattering—yet here he was, taking it all in stride?

“You... you...”

Wen Yang interrupted her, “Didn’t you say? I’m nothing like that harem protagonist.”

“I’m not some overindulgent guy living in luxury with endless lovers. It’s just a name.”

“And besides, who’s to say you’re not also just a character in someone else’s book or game?”

Ning Chu froze for a moment, her mind racing with sudden fear. She glanced up at the ceiling, but quickly realized how silly it was and let out a small laugh. “You’re right.”

She moved closer to Wen Yang, sitting beside him and letting out a soft sigh. “I thought you wouldn’t be able to accept it.”

Wen Yang took a deep breath. He could feel Ning Chu’s cool, silky skin, and he could smell the faint, alluring scent of a young girl.

Whether or not he was a character in a novel or this was all just fiction, everything felt real to him. His life experiences weren’t fake, and his feelings for Ning Chu weren’t just part of a script. In fact, he had even won over the author herself.

“It’s fine. I went from being a protagonist controlled by an author to the guy who makes the author roll her eyes in pleasure...”

“Shut up! You’re such a pervert!”

She covered Wen Yang’s mouth in embarrassment.

She had been so worried, and yet here he was, with his mind still stuck on teasing her!

Wen Yang gently removed her hand, leaning in to meet her shy gaze, whispering softly, “I’m your protagonist. You’ll never escape me now.”

“Pfft~” Ning Chu turned her head away in embarrassment, her tone filled with disdain. “Who said the protagonist has to end up with the author...”

If that were the case, she’d already have multiple boyfriends by now!

“By the way, I read the last part. Didn’t you say Shao Qing would turn into a girl? When does that happen?”

“......”
