Chapter 53: A Bit Small

Zhang Shaoqing, that idiot! He’s more of a liability than an asset!
It’s hard to believe that in the book, he’s supposed to be the main villain. In real life, if this guy ever turned evil, with his IQ, he’d end up in jail within a week!
If he hadn’t butted in, the cat-girl Qiao Qiao would have been completely out of Wen Yang’s life by now! But instead, here she is, following behind Wen Yang, calling him “Big Brother” like it’s the most natural thing!
How shameless! She’s twenty years old and still acting cute and innocent!
Back in the dorm, Ning Chu was still fuming. She sat at the desk that used to belong to Lingling, shaking her leg in frustration.
At least the part of Qiao Qiao’s storyline where she moved in to live with Wen Yang during their shared apartment phase hadn’t happened yet. Right now, she wasn’t living in the boys’ dorms and didn’t have the chance to serve as Wen Yang’s alarm clock.
When Wen Yang gets a part-time job during winter or summer break, if he decides to rent a place like in the storyline, I’ll make sure I’m the one sharing the apartment with him. No way am I giving Qiao Qiao that chance!
“Ning Chu, didn’t you bring your laptop?”
“My laptop...”
Ning Chu looked up at the empty desk, realizing she had left her laptop in the boys’ dorm.
“I didn’t bring it. I’m only staying one night, didn’t feel like carrying it back and forth.”
“Want to watch a drama together?”
Ning Chu’s mouth twitched as she glanced over at Yan Xinya’s screen, where some idol drama from who knows where was playing.
This feels like a prison sentence.
Even though she had become a girl, her taste in media hadn’t changed. Ning Chu still couldn’t understand the appeal of idol dramas, but with Yan Xinya so excited to invite her, she reluctantly dragged her chair over and sat beside the wolf-girl.
Ning Chu stared lifelessly at the drama on screen, her mind wandering around the dorm.
She wasn’t wearing Wen Yang’s clothes today, which meant she didn’t have the protagonist’s aura to protect her. Even though Yan Xinya was strong, Ning Chu still felt uneasy.
Her gaze kept darting to the corners of the room or out toward the balcony, half-expecting some pervert or even a tentacle monster to appear out of nowhere.
“Lily! Want to join us and watch the drama?” Yan Xinya called out.
“It’s boring,” Lily replied, curled up in a corner with her chin resting on her knees, absentmindedly clicking her mouse.
Ning Chu turned to look at Lily, only to realize that the usually stoic girl was playing a rather interesting puzzle game. The expression on her face was so serious, anyone who didn’t know better would think she was doing something important.
How can she just play that out in the open?!
Compared to the idol drama, the game Lily was playing seemed far more entertaining.
“I’m going to take a shower. Let’s watch it together afterward.”
“Alright.”
Feeling a bit out of place in the girls' dorm, Ning Chu didn’t know what else to do after Yan Xinya left, so she buried her nose in a novel.
Before long, the door suddenly opened.
“Ning Chu?!”
Hearing the surprised voice, she looked up to see Lin Li standing in the doorway, staring at her in shock.
Ning Chu gave her a brief nod in acknowledgment.
“What are you doing in my dorm?!”
“I’m staying here tonight.”
“Huh?”
Lily offered an explanation: “She’s a girl.”
“I know that!”
As a fox, Lin Li had a sharp sense of smell, much like a dog. During the class dinner where they competed for Wen Yang’s attention, she had already figured out Ning Chu’s true gender.
Even though Ning Chu had a certain appendage back then, she was essentially female.
“Then why are you so worked up?” Ning Chu shot Lin Li an annoyed look and went back to reading her novel. “I’m just staying one night.”
“You actually left the boys' dorm? I thought you planned to stick to Wen Yang for life.”
Lin Li grumbled, returning to her desk. But she kept glancing back at Ning Chu.
They didn’t have any real grudges. Lin Li had just lost the battle for Wen Yang, and when she had tried to extend an olive branch for cooperation, Ning Chu had rejected her, leaving a lingering bit of resentment.
On the surface, Ning Chu seemed harmless, but she was fierce. Moving into the boys’ dorm just to stay close to Wen Yang? That was gutsy.
Plus, she had such strong control over Wen Yang’s movements—no matter where he went, Ning Chu wasn’t far behind, driving away any girl who tried to get close to him.
This is what they call a yandere!
Ning Chu, feeling Lin Li’s gaze, was confused by the mix of admiration and irritation in her eyes.
Thankfully, Yan Xinya returned from her shower just in time, wearing a nightgown with her hair wrapped in a towel.
Her large, wet tail hung low, still dripping water as she entered. Spotting Lin Li, she immediately darted over, pressing her nose to Lin Li’s face and sniffing.
“Hey, Lin Li! You’re back early! It’s only a little after seven!”
Lin Li wrinkled her nose and shoved Yan Xinya’s face away. “You’re soaking wet! Don’t come near me!”
“Let’s watch a drama together~”
Yan Xinya excitedly wagged her tail, sending water droplets flying everywhere.
“Get away from me! Don’t splash me with water!”
Ning Chu also scooted back in disgust.
Are you a wolf or a dog?!
Not wanting to get caught in the chaos, Ning Chu quickly grabbed her change of clothes from her suitcase and rushed into the bathroom.
It was her first time showering in the girls' dorm...
Back in the boys' dorm, Ning Chu had always been extra cautious, constantly double-checking the lock and worrying that Wen Yang would burst in, just like in the storyline.
Now, though, she felt oddly at ease.
The bathroom floor was flooded with a few centimeters of water. Ning Chu glanced at the drain, which was clogged with clumps of gray and black hair.
“Xinya! Your fur’s clogging the drain! Come clean it!”
“I’m coming!”
A moment later, Yan Xinya rushed into the bathroom, grumbling, “I brush my tail whenever I can, but it still sheds like crazy, especially the tail!”
She glanced at Ning Chu’s clothes hanging on the wall and blinked in surprise. “Hey, why are you wearing boxers?”
“...”
“Don’t tell me you usually go commando!”
As a guy, wearing boxers is normal! Not wearing a bra is even more normal! How is that going commando?
Her internal argument didn’t do much to quell her embarrassment. Ning Chu knew she was just making excuses.
Her face flushed as she tried to defend herself. “I live in the boys’ dorm! How do you expect me to wear a bra?”
“If you don’t wear one, your chest will sag.”
“I’m small! It won’t!”
Yan Xinya glanced curiously at Ning Chu’s chest, then looked down at her own, her confidence swelling as she puffed out her chest. “True enough!”
Suddenly, Ning Chu felt a little offended.
The wolf-girl was probably a B-cup at most, which wasn’t much bigger than Ning Chu.
“Go compare yourself to Lin Li or Lily,” Ning Chu grumbled, pushing Yan Xinya out of the bathroom now that the drain was cleared. “I need to shower. Get out!”
“Hey, that nightgown looks huge! Is it Wen Yang’s?”
“Get out!”
With a loud “bang,” Ning Chu slammed the bathroom door shut and finally had some peace. She locked the door and let out a long sigh.
“Why am I even comparing my chest size to these girls?”
She undressed and turned on the shower, but as the water started flowing, she couldn’t help but glance down at her chest.
After a moment of silence, she muttered softly, “It is a bit small...”
