Chapter 43: Bad News!

“What the hell is with that girl?!”

Ning Chu stormed out of the service center, clearly annoyed. “Next time someone tries to hit on you like that, just tell them off! Like you did in the cafeteria last time! Push back!”

Wen Yang nodded vigorously in agreement, his face still flushed red like a shy boy after being teased.

He scratched his head awkwardly. Though he had met open and bold girls before, this was the first time someone he had just met immediately invited him to duo queue, leaving him feeling overwhelmed.

She was... a lot to handle.

As a man, it would be a lie to say he wasn’t even a little tempted.

Thankfully, spending so much time with Ning Chu—who often teased and even actively flirted with him—had trained him to be cautious around beautiful women.

As Ning Chu stomped ahead, she suddenly stopped in her tracks, causing Wen Yang to almost walk right into her.

“What’s wrong?”

Ning Chu didn’t answer. She stared down at her phone, typing “An An” into the document’s search bar once more.

Still nothing!

There was no female character in her smutty webnovel with the name An An.

So, was An An just a random girl who was overly forward and couldn’t keep her legs closed when she saw a good-looking guy?

Dammit! Did she get lazy and just give the girl a generic name like “An An” because she couldn’t be bothered to come up with anything better for all the extra female characters in her story? Were An An’s parents just as lazy?

“It’s nothing.” Ning Chu furrowed her brows and muttered in frustration, “This is annoying.”

She could only hope that An An had given up on Wen Yang. If not, dealing with some random girl who wouldn’t leave him alone was going to be a headache.

Difficult supporting characters were manageable because she could use the story’s plot to deal with them. If a character fixated on Wen Yang, she had methods to deal with it through in-story punishments.

But with random passersby, it was a different story.

Who knew how their behavior would unfold?!

She had no way of determining if An An had really given up on Wen Yang or if she still harbored feelings for him deep down.

“What’s so annoying?” Wen Yang asked, confused.

“Uh... Just don’t go back to the service center anymore,” she replied.

Wen Yang laughed helplessly and nodded. “Alright, alright, is it really that necessary?”

“Of course it’s necessary! That girl hit on you the moment she saw you! She’s obviously not decent!”

Under the awning, Ning Chu moved closer to Wen Yang, waiting for him to open his umbrella as they headed back to the dorm.

At least this time they didn’t run into that ghost~

If they hadn’t encountered one last time, she could have explained it as the ghost being too much for three men to handle, but this time, she had no excuse.

Now that she had become a girl, they were just a simple duo—one boy, one girl.

Maybe the ghost hadn’t even taken up residence in the teaching building yet.

All the way back, Ning Chu pondered how to deal with the overly clingy random girls, but after thinking for a long time, she could only conclude that she’d have to deal with things as they came.

When they returned to the dorm, the power had already been restored.

Wen Yang patted the rain off his shoulders. After the trip, his clothes were soaked through.

“I’m gonna take a shower,” he said.

“Okay.”

Ning Chu casually closed and locked the door behind them, glancing down at her still-dripping pant legs.

Although back when she was still living in the dorm, she would often walk around with bare legs after a shower, that was back when she was a guy.

Now that she was a girl, it was better to be cautious.

She waited patiently until Wen Yang had entered the bathroom before she hurriedly ran to her wardrobe and pulled out a pair of khaki capris.

Ning Chu was just unbuttoning her jeans when she suddenly turned her head toward the window facing the hallway.

She couldn’t be careless!

She rushed over to close the curtains, waiting until she heard the water running in the bathroom before slipping off her jeans, revealing her smooth, pale legs.

No matter how many times she saw them, she couldn’t help but be proud of her legs.

Too bad they belonged to her now...

Two months ago, her boxer shorts had been a bit loose, but now they hugged her curves tightly, making her look like she was wearing fitted short shorts.

She quickly changed into the capris without any unexpected incidents.

Ning Chu returned to her desk and sat down, continuing to search for any trace of “An An” in her novel.

There were some female characters she hadn’t even bothered to name, like that one girl who was bathing in the boys’ dorm bathroom, only to be interrupted by the protagonist and end up falling for him after the encounter.

Maybe An An was another one of those unnamed background characters.
