Chapter 12: A Date
Ning Chu truly had no idea how to face Wen Yang after everything that had happened. Their private conversation with Lily had been completely exposed...
Who would’ve thought that behind Lily’s cold exterior was a true pervert! She had bombarded Ning Chu with links to various "tools" without any warning!
Ning Chu was mortified. What if Wen Yang thought she was actually considering buying those items?

After the embarrassing incident where she lost control in front of Wen Yang last night, and now being caught chatting with Lily about such private matters, these past two days had been nothing short of a nightmare. Wen Yang probably now saw her as some desperate, flirtatious girl.
Just two months ago, Wen Yang had seen her as a shy, introverted boy...
Ning Chu sighed deeply, dragging a chair to sit by the door of the study room. She didn’t dare to go inside and face Wen Yang, so she leaned against the wall and picked up a magazine to distract herself.
But the magazine did nothing to soothe her already shame-filled heart. Within minutes, her thoughts spiraled out of control.
Even Lily couldn’t fully suppress her own urges and needed tools to help manage them. The book had warned multiple times that constantly suppressing such urges could lead to a complete breakdown of sanity.
So... maybe she really did need to explore those new "accessories" more seriously.
As the thought crossed her mind, her face flushed with heat, the waves of shame crashing against her sense of reason.
I can’t keep thinking about this, Ning Chu scolded herself as she felt her body start to warm up. Having already suppressed her urges twice, she was now far more sensitive than before. Even a fleeting inappropriate thought could send her body into overdrive.
The door beside her suddenly opened, making Ning Chu jump.
“Teacher! I’m going to buy some bubble tea!” the bratty student bolted out of the room like the wind, barely glancing at Ning Chu as he rushed out of the library.
A moment later, Wen Yang also stepped out, leaning against the doorframe as he looked down at Ning Chu, whose ears were red with embarrassment. “Why didn’t you come inside?”
“It’s too crowded,” Ning Chu mumbled, not daring to lift her head and meet his gaze.
“No more lessons?”
“Taking a fifteen-minute break.” Wen Yang rubbed his neck, complaining, “That kid is really dense. I explained a math problem three times, and he still didn’t get it. I wonder if he even understood a single sentence I said.”
“...”
He tried to read Ning Chu’s expression, curiosity bubbling up inside him, but he was too shy to ask outright.
Why would Ning Chu ask a succubus such a question?
And that cold, distant succubus actually recommended all sorts of strange tools to her...
Was it because Ning Chu had struggled so much last night?
Wen Yang felt guilty for having intruded on her privacy, but after mulling it over, he couldn’t bring himself to ask the questions nagging at him. Instead, he changed the subject. “How about we go for a walk?”
“Aren’t you supposed to be teaching?”
“I told you, it’s break time.” Wen Yang paused briefly. “There’s a small square outside the library. We could take a stroll to clear our heads.”
That’s probably a good idea...
Ning Chu was starting to feel stifled by the oppressive atmosphere of the library.
But instead of responding, she simply stood up and walked straight out of the library. Wen Yang quickly followed, trailing half a step behind her like a protective bodyguard.
The small square outside the library was bustling with people, with various food stalls lining the sides. But Ning Chu’s mind was far from thoughts of food.
Please don’t ask... Please just pretend you don’t know... Pretend nothing happened.
Ning Chu’s internal plea was written all over her tense expression. Her face was flushed, and her wandering gaze didn’t escape Wen Yang’s notice.
Sensing her discomfort, Wen Yang wisely shifted his focus. “How about some stinky tofu? My treat.”
“Sure...” Ning Chu responded hesitantly, her posture slightly awkward. In her entire life, she had never experienced anything as embarrassing as this.
It felt like someone had discovered her hidden stash of private stories or accidentally opened her browser’s bookmarked pages in front of her...
Anxious, she snuck a glance at Wen Yang, only to feel something lightly brush against the back of her hand.
Looking down instinctively, she saw Wen Yang’s hesitant hand.
This clueless boy! Does he think this is a date?
This fool—if he really likes a girl, he should be more assertive. Acting all shy won’t get him anywhere, though with his good looks, maybe he could wait for the girls to come to him.
Ning Chu couldn’t help but scoff, slapping his hand away and crossing her arms over her chest.
But before she could savor her small victory, a devilish voice whispered in her ear.
“Ning Chu, about that conversation with Lily—”
She immediately grabbed Wen Yang’s hand, glaring at him with a mixture of shame and anger.
Wen Yang had only been teasing her to see how she’d react, but her embarrassed response made him laugh as he wrapped her small hand in his. “Okay, okay, I won’t ask. I don’t know anything.”
Pervert!
Can’t he use this boldness with some other girl? Ugh, no—he needs to wait until after I’ve broken the plot.
Ning Chu’s face was a picture of internal conflict.
On one hand, she wanted Wen Yang to find a girlfriend and stop bothering her. On the other, because of the plot, she needed him to stay an innocent boy for a while longer.
But she had to admit, Wen Yang’s hand was really warm...
Her face stiffened as they continued down the street, passersby’s glances making her cheeks burn even more. She had no choice but to lower her head.
As a man, holding hands with another man in public... Even though her body and appearance had fully transformed into a girl, she still felt a deep sense of rejection in her heart.
But this feeling of being tightly held and protected was so comforting...
Her body and mind seemed to relax more than usual.
But could Wen Yang stop secretly touching the back of her hand? It tickles and is really uncomfortable!
When they reached the food stall, Ning Chu still couldn’t bring herself to lift her head, while Wen Yang casually ordered a large serving of stinky tofu.
“Extra spicy?” the vendor asked.
“Just a little spicy,” Wen Yang replied on Ning Chu’s behalf.
Having frequently bought meals for Ning Chu lately, he had already memorized her tastes and preferences.
A few minutes later, the stinky tofu was ready. As Wen Yang handed it over, Ning Chu, like a startled rabbit, quickly darted to the side, eyeing him warily.
“You’re not eating?”
“Have you touched me enough?” she shot back, frustration evident in her voice.
Wen Yang could still feel the softness of her hand in his palm. He chuckled awkwardly, “Go ahead and eat. I’m not really a fan of this stuff.”
“Pfft~”
Ning Chu approached cautiously, taking the stinky tofu from him before quickly retreating a few steps, glaring at him as if he were some kind of pervert.
If this world wasn’t so dangerous, and if she didn’t need Wen Yang’s protagonist aura for protection, she would’ve kicked him to the curb by now!
She swallowed her frustration, silently adding this to her mental list of grievances.
“I was just joking around... You didn’t have to take it so seriously.”
“Disgusting pervert!”
Ning Chu kept a safe distance of several meters from Wen Yang, taking a bite of her food and then glaring at him before retreating even further.
“Teacher! I got the bubble tea!” the bratty student suddenly appeared, carrying three cups of bubble tea as he ran up. “Here’s the milk tea for Teacher’s wife!”
“Teacher’s wife?!”
The student glanced at Ning Chu in surprise. “Uh... sister?”
Wen Yang, you idiot! Is that really how you introduce me to people?!
