Chapter 53: Hamster-keeping
Yeon Soohi had her own worries that made her care less about the steam cleaner in her brother’s hand as he cleaned the house like a psychopath killer erasing evidence.
Han Yohan hadn’t talked to her for like a week and it was driving her insane.
Like insane insane.
"Hey, Nabi," Soohi turned towards the bewilderingly beautiful girl beside her and asked. "Say, an omega likes to be hurt, how do you date someone like that?"
Seo Nabi looked Soohi dead in the eyes with a disgusted face and almost spewed out words that would have massively contradicted her appearance.
You see, if you go back a few Chapters, you’ll see a certain astonishingly prett omega girl going into heat.
That was Seo Nabi. She had just entered college and was a late comer because her family was abroad and just returned a week ago.
And on her very first day of college, she went into heat because of nervousness.
Now as she was runni away to get home, she found herself lost in the very unknown campus.
She was terrified and started running around in a frenzy fearing someone will track her down from her pheromones if she stayed still.
And that was when she bumped into Yeon Soohi, who helped and took her to the despite being an alpha herself.
Seo Nabi had incredible respect and admiration for Soohi after that day.
Maybe something more than admiration...
But all those bubbling feelings went down like a crashing car as she actually befriended and came to know Soohi.
Nabi knew three things about Soohi.
First was that Yeon Soohi was absolu terrified of her brother and would never do anything that might cause him trouble.
Second was that Soohi was trapped in a one sided crush from the last few years and that Nabi had no chance to be with her.
Third was that this incredibly healthy and athletic alpha lady that was so dashingly attractive ... had an IQ in the negatives.
Seo Nabi had never seen someone so academically and emotionally stupid that she almost pitied the poor girl for being born.
"That question just now, does it apply to the omega you’re chasing after?" Nabi asked sharply.
"Yeah. It applies directly to him," Soohi answered seriously.
"Then you’re better off forgetting about him," Nabi gave Soohi the ultimatum.
"Why?!?"
"Can’t you see yourself?! You’re the fucking embodiment of the word ’loving partner’. How are you supposed to cater to that freaky omega’s masochistic fantasies?!"
"... I’ll figure that out somehow. That’s why I’m asking you."
"And why would I know anything about such kinks?"
"Well, you’re an omega and all, so I thought you might know...."
"...."
"...."
"Are you fucking dumb? How is that in any way relevant? Do you think every omega has similar tastes?!"
"Do... they not?"
"..."
"..."
Seo Nabi held the back of her in frustration. She was a hair’s nick close to resorting to strangulation.
This goddamn stupid alpha!!!!
Soohi probably sensed the frustration in Nabi as she started unconsciously cowering and talking mellowed.
"I’m sorry if that was rude.
I haven’t really interacted with omegas much, you see.
There’s no omega in our family.
And they only other omegas I know are my crush and my oppa’s boyfriend.
I’m not really close enough with oppa’s boyfriend to ask him such questions.
And I can’t exactly ask my crush too. So I asked you.
I’m sorry if I’m burdening you."
Yeon Soohi resembled a drenched cat as she said those words. Nabi couldn’t help but feel guilty. It was a similar kind of guilt one feels when they don’t help a disabled person.
She sighed and said.
"First of all, tell me everything that’s happened between you two. Don’t leave a single detail out. Only then can I say something properly."
And then Yeon Soohi took the time of an hour and half to narrate the entirety of her relationship with Han Yohan.
Nabi finished listening with her ears metaphorically bleeding and looked Soohi dead in the eyes.
"Well, aren’t you one persistent bitch? I would’ve called the cops on you ages ago."
"Please! You said you’d help me!!!"
"Sure. Since your case doesn’t seem entirely impossible. The fact that he kept tolerating you until now must be because he likes you to a certain degree."
"Then, do I have a chance?"
"Yes. But a very sickly, weak and slim chance. I think I know how to get this omega to look at you."
"How?"
Soohi asked with glistening eyes.
Nabi smiled with an evil expression and said.
"Let’s treat Han Yohan like a hamster. You know pet hamsters mostly ignore their owners and are not affectionate at all. But what is the one time they actually give attention?"
"When?" Soohi was now leaning forward excitedly.
"When a new hamster arrives. You have always given that man all of your attention. Now what would happen if the attention he took for granted was taken away from him and given to someone else?"
"He’ll not care?"
"No! You idiot!! He’ll burn with jealousy and finally try to take you back."
"I don’t think Yohan oppa would do that. If anything, he might congratulate me for getting a lover."
"And that’s why you’re still just chasing him! Listen to me, let’s pretend we both are dating and show that oppa of yours that you have stopped caring about him. I can guarantee he would freak out."
"Are you sure it’s a good idea?"
"Trust me, you dimwit!"
Soohi reluctantly agreed to the offer and then Seo Nabi immediately stood up and declared in front of the whole class that the two of them were going out.
Soohi was quite dumbfounded and embarrassed by how sudden it was.
The entire class started cheering and clapping as Soohi stood up and dragged Nabi outside with her.
"Why did you do that?!" She asked in a whispered scream.
"Well, if we want your oppa to know that you’ve moved on, we need at least this much publicity."
"What are you...?"
"Soohi?"
Han Yohan voice echoed through Soohi’s head.
The moment to show the hamster that he was replaced, had come sooner than anticipated.
