Chapter 28: A Lie

"Let’s get you outside the wardrobe," Doha said as he gently put Song-rik’s leg back down. "I feel like I’ll really do something to you if we keep staying here."

Song-rik nodded as they both promptly exited the wardrobe and Doha handed Song-rik’s clothes to him.

"Come out after dressing up," he said openly staring at Song-rik’s nipples. "She made all sorts of dishes for you."

"Okay," Song-rik said as he hurriedly put on his shirt to escape the lewd gaze of a certain alpha.

"I’m waiting outside."

"Sure."

Doha made his way out to the kitchen table. Yeon Mirae was watching a show on the tv as Song-rik came out and greeted her in embarrassment.

He even apologised because he was so embarrassed.

Doha had finished setting the table and all three of them decided to eat together the breakfast as a lunch as it was already so late.

Song-rik went back after the two of them secretly kissed in the doorway. They even decided to meet up for a new date the next day.

And now, Yeon Doha had a proper way of using the holiday that he would have otherwise spent rolling around in his bed.

He packed up and went to the book store to buy books for preparing for his high school graduation as well as the college entrance exam.

He then returned home and filled out the online application for both.

And then he opened the books.

Yeon Doha had long given up on studying. And even after he transmigrated into his body, he had too much going on to actually study.

So Doha wasn’t expecting much from his brain. He knew it wouldn’t be easy to clear those exams but he had already promised himself that he would grow for the better.

Doha had first opened math. Even in the real world, if there was one subject he was bad at, it was maths.

And just solving through the first question of basic arithmetic, he made a big discovery.

Yeon Doha was an absolute genius at this.

Like he didn’t even begin using his brain and he already knew the answer to that question.

It was unreal. For someone who was haunted by mathematics for his entire school era, Doha was beyond dumbfounded at the sudden prowess in the subject.

And it was kind of addicting.

Yeon Doha then spent the next five hours buried in the maths textbook. He had finished the entire high school arithmetic in that time.

Why did he even stop studying? He would’ve done just fine even if he didn’t study properly!

Yeon Doha’s backstory in the original novel did mention that he was quite good at studies, but he didn’t know it was at this level.

Aren’t I a genius?!

Doha felt positive about the decision to take the college entrance exam. With Yeon Doha’s brain, it would just be a matter of time before he cleared it.

Maybe I could go into a mathematics major and become a maths professor...

Doha started grinning as he imagined himself as a professor and meeting Song-rik’s family asking for his hand in marriage.

"I would look so damn cool!" He muttered.

This was something he could never have imagined in the real world as Yoon $£^§!

"Huh?"

"Yoon ...?"

"Why can’t I remember...?"

Doha broke out in cold sweat as he ran his mind to find a single word inside it.

His name.

His name from the real world before he transmigrated into the...

Huh?

What was the novel’s name again?

Fear grew in Doha’s chest as he struggled to remember what his real life was, but all he could scramble together were broken memories... memories missing his name.

"Since when? Since when did I forget?!"

Surely, when Yeon Doha first came inside the novel, he remembered his real name. No, he remembered everything about his real life in clear detail.

But as time passed and he started living Yeon Doha’s life, he started to remember his real life less and less.

So he just found out that he could no longer remember his real name.

Doha stood up from his chair in shock and the thing fell back making a loud sound.

*huff!

*huff!

*huff!

Rose scent filled the room. A scared rose that is afraid of withering away as it’s life comes to an end. The scent of a dying rose.

"It’s okay.... It’s okay.... It’s okay....!"

Doha fell on his knees and thought clearly about his real life.

I was born on December 6, 20XX. My mother’s name is Yeon Mira... no, my mother’s name is Yoon J.... My father’s name is Yoon H... I have a younger twin sister. Her name is Yoon Sarang or was it Yeon Soohi?

"Write!! I need to write this down!!"

Doha yelled as he scrambled around for a piece of paper.

Doha never felt the need to write down his real life details because he was ever so sure he would never forget them. But that didn’t seem so impossible now...

He picked up the pen and wrote down each detail he remembered. He only remembered his twin sister’s name completely.

His parents’ initials were all he remembered and as for his own name. He remembered nothing.

As soon as he finished writing it, he put down the pen and looked up at the ceiling.

"What in the world is happening to me...?"

He stayed like that for a bit as if catching his running out breath.

Then he looked back at the paper where he had written all the things he remembered.

They were gone. The paper was blank.

Doha jolted up and picked the paper turned it over and checking each side twice.

The things he had written there vanished as if they were never written. As if it was a lie that he wrote them.

Doha’s hand trembled as he threw the paper away.

He took another paper and wrote again. It vanished right in front of his eyes. Words fading away as if returning to normal.

He typed it on the phone, it disappeared. Heck he even sent it to Yeon Soohi. The message disappeared as if it was never sent.

He added little bits of information in completely unrelated sentences and that too disappeared.

As if the world was erasing his real life.

At last, Doha decided to etch them in the wall.

Same result.

It all disappeared the same nonetheless.

And suddenly, drops of blood flowed down Doha’s nose.

Darkness took over him and he droped on the spot, surrounded by discarded paper where he had written it over and over again.

Jang Song-rik entered the office in a disheveled manner as he quickly entered his office and closed the blinds.

We are back together!!!

Song-rik squealed as he jumped on the sofas in his office. Then he laid on one.

He looked up at the ceiling.

"Eeeek!!!!"

He couldn’t contain his excitement as he wriggled around and jumped over furniture.

’You’re best thing that has happened to me, hyung!’

Song-rik imitated Doha, even taking the same pose as he took when they were in the wardrobe.

Ah, the wardrobe....

Jang Song-rik remembered all his drunk antics from the morning and was very ashamed of it.

He wasn’t really going to drink that morning. He didn’t even want to.

But suddenly a reminder came on his phone, telling him that it was Yeon Doha’s day off from the bar.

When they started dating, the two had shared their schedules so they could know when to make time for each other.

Song-rik had fed Doha’s schedule to a dedicated calender app to keep good track of it and it was a reminder from this app that Doha would be free to meet today.

Under normal circumstances, Song-rik would have been excited about the reminder, but he had just faced a crushing heartbreak last night when Doha walked out on him.

So it was plenty painful to be seeing that reminder. But Song-rik couldn’t bring himself to delete that app as that was also what he used to stalk Doha.

And just to cope with the harsh feelings of his fragile heart, Doha drank alcohol. Which he spat out immediately as it was bitter and hurt his throat.

He only drank that day because Doha’s cocktails were so sweet and delicious.

Even alcohol was reminding him of Doha now, Song-rik began sobbing.

And that is when, the real culprit of it all, the new managing secretary pulled up to pick him for the office.

When he asked why Song-rik was crying, the omega answered that he wanted to drink but the alcohol was bitter.

Now a good secretary would tell their boss to stop fucking around here and get their ass to the office. But this new secretary had recently joined the team (therefore on driving duty) and was very enthusiastic about helping his superior.

He offered to bring Song-rik a very sweet alcohol.

He went and came back.

The idiot had brought four bottles of sweet red wine for Jang Song-rik. And it was just his second time drinking properly.

And that was what led to that disaster.
