Seeing Ren walk away with his two wooden daggers in hand, Liam silently stood up and dusted the dirt off his pants.

Staring down at the wooden sword in his hands and oblivious to the approach of the main cast, Liam zoned out.

Snapping Liam out of his trance, Kevin tapped on the shoulder with his own wooden sword and said.

"Up for another?"

While Kevin was strong and proficient with the battleaxe, it was simply not meant for one-on-one fights.

The heavy battle axe, though packing a heavy punch, was inefficient and could not be used to consistently parry a broadsword.

The speed of Kevin’s sword swings far outpaced that of Zach, so after only a minute of fighting, Kevin had won.

All Kevin had to do was release a barrage of sword attacks, and Zach, with his slow and heavy battle-axe, wouldn’t be able to keep up.

However, Zach’s weapon shined massively in team battles and fights.

The weapon’s only disadvantage was its slow speed, which made Zach defensive when faced with fast attacks.

But, with the main cast, Zach could simply swing around his heavy axe without any worry, as the attacks coming at him would be deflected by his friends.

Zach had shined, especially during their stand against the djinns in the underground cave, where Alya’s ice pillars surrounded them.

He had, by far, killed the most djinns and done the most damage with his axe and, in turn, had received quite the prize from the principal.

Staying silent, Liam nodded his head, glancing out of the corner of his eye at Ren, who had reconvened with Jin and Han.

As Liam and Kevin immediately began their fight, Alya cocked her head in confusion, staring at her own wooden sword, and said.

"How did the pinsir Liam’s sword with his daggers? Liam’s sword slash was too fast for even me to have followed..."

Lily, already going back to practicing spell casting with Ruby, sighed before saying.

"He predicted it."

Lily could wipe off Liam’s defeat against Ren in the carriage as unfairly as Ren had full knowledge of all of Liam’s skills and moves; however, this time, it was different.

Their fight, without any skills and just their wooden swords, had been completely fair.

Ren’s book knowledge couldn’t have helped a single bit.

It was odd... she and Ren had taken completely different paths.

She had decided to team up with Liam to make him stronger and more prepared for future scenarios.

On the other hand, Ren did the exact opposite by simply surpassing Liam in power so that he could solve the scenarios without Liam’s help.

However, despite seeing Ren’s performance just now in the fight against Liam, Lily didn’t doubt her choice of joining the main cast.

As the other students saw Liam and Ren’s fight conclude, they slowly went back to training themselves, yet they still discussed loudly.

Of course, Ren was the topic of their debate.

First, he had gone from being the most infamous person in the school for the countless terrible rumors surrounding him to the battle royale star.

And, now, just today, he had beaten the top-ranked first year in a one-versus-one duel.

While some simply saw Ren’s transformation as the product of his hard work and training, others...viewed it in a more negative light.

"I’m telling you...he sold his soul to the devil!

"If he was a djinn, wouldn’t the academy catch him, though...?"

"Unless...the academy is on it."

"What if it...it’s not actually Ren, and somebody just possessed his body!?"

Hearing the wild rumors already starting to spread, Professor Zia shook her head and loudly announced.

"Everyone, back to training, or I’m turning the heating off in your dorms." Continue reading stories on freewebnovel

After an hour had finally passed, Han and Jin collapsed to the floor out of pure exhaustion.

With sweat dripping from their faces despite the freezing cold temperature, the two boys turned to Ren, who seemed to be dozing off and leaning against the wall.

After defeating Liam, Ren joined the two boys in their King of Court game...however, he hadn’t held back this time.

Wanting to immediately rest, Ren had beat the boys within a minute each time, going off the court and resting.

Then, at some point, Ren had just passed out on the floor, forcing the two boys to keep fighting each other the entire time.

That meant that Han and Jin barely had time to rest, as they were either being beaten up by Ren or by each other.

Shaking his head, Jin stood up and reached his hand out above Ren’s shoulder.

Hesitating, as if deciding whether to wake Ren up or not, Jin turned to face Han and asked.

"Can we just leave him to freeze out here?"

Taking Ren’s daggers, Jin’s katana, and his crossbow, Han placed the three weapons back into the racks and shook his head.

As Jin tapped Ren on the shoulder countless times, the red-eyes student slowly work up, his eyes fluttering open.

Yawning and stretching out his arms, Ren stood back up, glanced around for a few seconds, and confusedly asked.

"Where’s the teacher?"

Shaking his head, Jin pointed in the direction of the field and said.

"Apparently, we got let out earlier today because she has something urgent to do."

Immediately transforming his frown into a smile, Ren grabbed his bag and began walking out of the coliseum.

Just imagining his warm bed waiting for him in his dorm room, Ren consciously began walking faster and faster.

However, just as Ren was about to exit the coliseum, he suddenly felt someone wrap their hands around his shoulder.

Without even turning around, Ren sighed and said.

"What is it, Jin?"

After waiting a second for Han to catch up to the two of them, Jin pulled their Winter Ball tickets out of his pocket and said.

"Aren’t we missing something?"

Shrugging Jin’s arm off his shoulder, Ren sighed and responded.

"You two are, not me."

"..?"

"..?"

As silence descended upon the three boys, Jin immediately ran forward and grabbed both of Ren’s shoulders again with his hands.

Gripping Ren’s shoulder, Jin eagerly questioned.

"Who is it!?"
