To be honest, James was a bit confused when Alayna said this to him but when he looked in the direction where Alayna had been looking during their conversation, he suddenly received a hint.

"I humbly thank you for your advice, I will keep that in mind," he slightly bowed his head as he said this.

"I hope that you do."

After the small talk with James, Alayna joined another group for a chat. After some time, the house viewing was done and the feast began. With so much delicious food being served, the joy couldn’t be hidden anymore.

[To think that James was once a hunter without anything worth to be seen before….ahh life can truly play a joke on people.]

[He is now the most eligible person to marry now, whom do you think that he will marry?]

[I wonder if the ex-wife is regretting it now.]

[Ha ha ha, just thinking about how her intestines will go green after hearing how James rises up once again, my tears are already coming out.]

[This house is just so beautiful and I want a house like this too!]

[Me I just want to know if I can marry James and be the madam of this house?]

There was a lot of chatter among the guests as they devoured the food with gusto.

Alayna was having fun with her employees as they talked happily and ate the food merrily. After staying at the housewarming party for a few hours, Alayna bid James and others farewell.

She was a mother and leaving her children by themselves was not something that she should do. With her gone, the party still continued and so were the celebrations.

On this night, Alayna cooked a feast for her children to compensate them for leaving them alone when she went out to have some fun. The kids were also happy to eat a feast but they didn’t blame her for leaving them.

The three were sitting watching a show on TV when Alayna suddenly started a conversation with them, "I have been thinking for a while and I hope that you guys will be very honest with me. Can you do that for me?"

Merita who knew that she had been lying panicked for a second, in her mind she was thinking that she had been caught and they were going to get exposed but Neal who was blank about most things wasn’t thinking about anything.

"Yes, what is it that you want to know?" Neal enthusiastically asked as he looked eagerly at his mother.

"I want to know about your dreams. What do you envision yourselves doing in like ten years?" Alayna had never been asked this question in her life and it was probably thanks to that, that she didn’t have a goal to focus on.

She wasted a lot of years doing nothing and achieving absolutely nothing.

The kids weren’t expecting to hear this from Alayna but Merita was very relieved seeing that it wasn’t what she was thinking about.

Neal didn’t want to lose the face of his mother, this person was the only one that gave the two of them life, showed them love, and embraced them like her own. He wanted to make her proud and, in this world, there was only one way that one could do that, cultivate and become strong.

"I want to become a strong cultivator and protect you and sister," Neal’s dream was very simple, and hearing it, Alayna couldn’t help but tear up.

"Silly boy, the only thing that I want from you is to grow up happily and be strong enough to protect yourselves. Your mother is very strong and I have several guardian beasts and they will never abandon me.

What I want for you guys is to think of something that involves yourselves, think about it, and tell me when you do," Alayna was afraid that these two kids would try to live their life to just repay her and this is not the real reason why she adopted them in the first place.

The kids were very shocked to hear this and they were frozen for a while.

"But_"

"No buts, sleep over it and tell me your dreams by tomorrow night and we will work towards that. Currently, I am in the process of getting medicine for you, soon you will be well again. You will be strong enough to cultivate again and stand on your two feet again," she said happily as she looked at the two children.

Merita choked when she heard that, she wasn’t expecting Alayna will go to that extent for them, "thank you, for everything, thank you."

Alayna looked at the sobbing Merita and hugged her in her arms, "darling, I am your mother and I must protect you. I will provide you with anything and everything that you need. In return I just want you to be happy and if you can …. Oh, forget it! Just be yourselves for me, okay!"

Merita nodded her head as tears streamed down her cheeks. Even Neal was also affected but as the man of the house, he didn’t want to shed tears easily.

Alayna comforted the kids and sent them to bed, she sang a lullaby for them before leaving when they were sleeping soundly.

The kids were still young in her own eyes, Merita was barely around twelve years old and Neal around ten. In her original world, everyone was a kid until they turn eighteen. Of course, as long as your parents are still alive, you will remain a kid for eternity.

In this world, it was very difficult to determine when one will stop being a kid, but her children will remain her kids as long as they remain under her wings.

She was responsible for them and maybe one day in the future they will genuinely call her mother with all their hearts and not because they are entitled to.

She went to sleep and the next day it was working as usual. Later that night the kids told her about their dreams and this time she was relieved to hear about them.

She didn’t want to see them wasting their lives to repay her. that same night, she bought the healing pills needed to treat the children. She wanted to see them starting as soon as possible for every single second counts.

The next morning, the kids vigorously greeted her and helped her to prepare breakfast. When they ate their breakfast, Alayna was going to leave for work.

She didn’t need to worry about house chores as the kids will do it when she is gone. She also couldn’t give them the pills as she didn’t want anything to happen when she wasn’t there.

She also didn’t tell them about the pills either as she wanted to surprise them.

The day went as usual and more customers were coming which was good for business for her. Although her profit percentage was still 10%, she was still okay with it.

As everyone was used to Alayna rushing back home despite their curiosity, they simply watched her go.

Alayna prepared a simple dinner for the family and after that, she took the kids to their bedroom, the kids were wondering why they weren’t having family time but seeing their eager mother, they knew that she was up to something again.

"Mom, is something wrong?" Merita asked as soon as they were seated on their respective beds.

"No, everything is just fine. Remember I promised you that I will completely heal you before. I have the pills with me tonight and I want you to take them," she excitedly told the kids, happiness visible to them all.

The two siblings were shocked when they heard this but they were also very happy. They felt so much warmth knowing that this person truly cares for their wellbeing.

"Thank you, mother."

"Thank you, mom."

"Okay darlings, it will be painful but you must bear with it. Let me tell you a story before you take it," recalling the pain she went through that time, she wanted the kids to have some motivation first.

"A story, please tell us!" as a young girl, Merita was very fond of stories.

She didn’t like cultivating much, it was her brother who was a genius, fighting wasn’t her thing so she spent most of her time listening to servants telling her stories and she missed that.

Being with Alayna had also fulfilled that dream of hers, she gets to watch movies all day without being worried about cultivating and that was already enough for her.

But getting her to tell them stories was also a joy that others wouldn’t know of.

"Okay, the story is like this. Back then there was a woman who ...…"

If Merita had known that the protagonist of the story will be this pitiful, she would have refused to let Alayna tell her a story. They could feel the pain the woman in the story went through and somehow this made them take this moment very seriously.

"From this story, my darlings I just want you to take this moment seriously and do your best to achieve the greatness you want. If you waste this chance, then the rest of your lives will also be affected.

Forget about the pain and focus all the pain on your dreams. You can’t achieve anything in this life if you lack power. So, fighting guys!" Alayna didn’t want to frighten them but she also wanted them to face reality.
