Chapter 272: My bees can touch you.
Sienna’s compound was already alive with chaos when she returned. All the paths from the first courtyard to the backyard blazed with firelight, dozens of massive iron pots boiling over wooden flames, their stem curling into the cold air like a warning to all those who dared to cross her. The air was thick with smoke, sweat and fear.
Liman shouted from a tree branch where she was sitting with Mija and secretary Mika. "All captives are to be boiled." Her voice carried over the crackle of fire.
The words struck like a hammer. The gathered teachers, lackeys and parents froze, their faces blanching. Danny Risser himself, dragged forward by Linera and two guards, trembled violently. His bravado shattered in an instant--his trousers darkened as he lost control, the stench of urine mingling with the smoke.
Corven Junior laughed. "Did you just pee in your pants Danny? I thought you were a tough guy."
Some people near him moved away, while his mother glared at Corven, resenting him for publicizing his son’s shame.
Sienna’s gaze was merciless. She stepped into the center of the courtyard, her presence commanding silence. "Guard them well, make sure no one escapes." She unleashed her pan. "But before judgement, there will be reckoning."
She ordered the guards to clear a wide circle near the newly installed breakfast table, fighting ring marked by feathers and wooden posts was organized. Jorik pushed Soren forward. The boy was a bit pale, but his fists were clenched.
"Must we do this?" Mrs. Miller whispered to Sienna.
Sienna’s voice rang out, sharp and unyielding: "Brother, you must fight. Beat them the way they beat you. Douse them in water the way you plunged into water to save your books. Break their legs like they made you limp. Show them what it means to be my brother. If you cannot do this, then I never want to hear you promising that you will protect me in future, ever again."
Danny and six boys were shoved into the circle. They stumbled, their arrogance stripped away, their eyes darting toward the boiling pots as if they might be thrown in at any moment."
Sienna herself stepped into the ring, her pan in the right hand. She swung it without hesitation, the clan echoing as it struck Danny’s shoulder. He cried out, collapsing to his knees.
His mother screamed, throwing her handcuffed hands out. "Son, my son!"
"Lady Sienna!" one of the teachers gasped, horrified. "How can you hit a child?"
"This is not reasonable." Another shouted.
"The school has a disciplinary committee to handle any issues." The headmaster jumped in. "I may not understand what is going on here, but beating a child is not the answer."
Sienna’s eyes blazed. "He is eighteen." She growled. "He is legal. He is accountable. My brother and cousins are younger than him and his lackeys. What kind of eighteen year old adult picks on twelve to sixteen year olds? If one more person calls this monstrous adult a child, I will throw them into a pot. If you had all done your jobs, I would not be here, doing this right now. You have yourselves blame."
The crowd murmured, some in shock, others in grim approval. Soren struck Danny with his fist, as hard as he could. Then he moved to the next boy and the one after. His force increased with each blow, his rage poring out in every blow. Sienna did not just watch, her pan was in action. The sound of metal on flesh rung through the courtyard.
Then, a new voice cut through the chaos. Deep, commanding, dripping with authority.
"Enough."
From those ears which were similar to Danny’s Sienna knew she was looking at the Prime Envoy. He was as round in the waist as his grandson. He had guards flanking his sides and his presence was suffocating. His power was undeniable. Beside him stood Elias, his expression unreadable, his eyes flickering between pride and caution.
Sienna’s rage rose. She knew she couldn’t touch the Prime Envoy, not with his guards, not with his influence. But she would not bow.
Her lips curled into a cold smile. "You think your power protects you? Watch. I can’t touch you, but I don’t need to."
She raised her hand, and from the backyard, buzzing sounds started. Bees swarmed into the courtyard, led by their queens. They poured into the air, and surrounded the Prime Envoy and his men. The Prime Envoy’s guards faltered, swatting desperately as the bees descended upon them. The Prime Envoy staggered back, his composure cracking as the swarm enveloped him.
The crowd erupted in chaos and other bees turned on them. Teachers screamed, parents wailed, lackeys tried to flee but were dragged back by guards. Danny sobbed openly, his arrogance shattered, his body trembling under Thunder Honey’s sting and Soren’s continued blows.
And then, from the shadows of the house, a small figure emerged. It was Ali, clutching her new pan the replaced the broken one. The new version was almost too heavy for her small hands. She darted into the fighting circle, her eyes blazing with childish fury.
"Don’t bully my uncle!" she screamed. swinging the pan with all her strength. It clanged against Danny’s head, sending him sprawling. She struck another boy, and another, her tiny arms trembling but relentless.
While some people gasped, Sienna and her relatives laughed. Ali stood panting, her pan lowered, her defiance echoing her mother’s. "Bad teachers, very bad. I am never going to school mama." She declared.
Sienna ignored those words. She ordered the bees to back off so that everyone could take a moment to breathe. During that time, the doctor started examining the captives. Nobody could die. The capturing and beating could be written off, but not a revenge killing.
"This is what happens when you prey on my family." Sienna declared.
Before she could begin her vocal parent-teacher meeting, the sound of horns split the air. Heavy footsteps poured in through the gate. Royal agents and palace guards walked in, followed by the king and queen.
The royal couple had no smiles, only eyes sharp as blades. The crowd gasped in horror, bowing instinctively. The boiling pots hissed, the bees swarmed, the bullies whimpered and Sienna stood tall, her pan still in hand and now, her daughter at her side.
The king’s voice was low, dangerous. "Sienna. The Prime Envoy sent me a request to come here, claiming it was a matter of life or death. What have you done?"
The queen’s gaze swept over the chaos--the boiling pots, the bruised captives, the swarm of bees, the trembling teachers and finally settled on Sienna, her brother and Ali.
