Chapter 262: Her bee kidnapped another bee!

Sienna turned to Elias, her mouth wide open. She had researched fox beast men and found out they had hypnotic and seduction abilities. But, the beast king had forbidden them from using hypnosis unless it was a life or death matter. As for seduction, it could only be used under recorded mutual consent or in war, or a life or death situation.

The punishment for randomly using them to harm others was death or life in prison. But the good thing was that these abilities were not active in all fox beast men. And it was rare for one fox beast man to have all two.

Sienna suddenly got the feeling that her husband was the exception.

"What?" Elias asked her.

She blinked, "You....you have a seduction ability?!"

He smirked. "You didn’t know?"

Sienna sputtered. "Of course I didn’t know. It’s not like you shared it with me! Now, I have it too!"

The bird in his hands dropped to the floor. "Really?!"

She nodded. If anyone had told her that someday she would have an innate ability to seduce, she would have laughed in their face.

He leaned closer, voice low and teasing. "Then perhaps you should test it."

She slapped his arm. "Absolutely not. This is not the kind of thing you test in a public place."

He laughed, the sound rich and warm. "I will teach you how to control it. We will sign consent forms to use it on each other." His smile faded an inch. He took her hands and said seriously, "You have to read the laws regarding this skill and follow them. Nobody cares if you hit someone with a pan, but everyone will care if you suddenly start seducing others into harming themselves."

She lowered her voice, "Is that what Illora did? Did she seduce the Viran brothers into setting themselves on fire?"

He touched a finger to forehead and then flicked it. "That is irrelevant history, focus on yourself."

Sienna groaned softly. "I am still in a daze. I have fruit that makes babies, another that increases physical strength and fox seduction."

Elias’s eyes gleamed. "Fruit that makes babies and increases physical strength!" dropped her hands. grabbed the closest three fruit packets he had been observing, and escaped from the office like she was going to pursue him.

She didn’t go after him, Sienna just looked on in wonder. "You could have just asked," she shouted.

Without him, she would not be receiving the rewards, it was why she complained about his thefts of her fruits but never did anything to deter it.

Her lips curved into a smile. She packed up the food box, put away the rest of her property and left the mechanical bird on his desk.

Sienna returned home with heavy shoulders from the day’s disputes. All in all, she had settled three cases before deciding to close up at 4:00 P.M. She was expecting a hum from her daughter, instead, she was greeted by a scene of frenzied activity.

A shirtless Geo was sweating, despite it being winter! Her family, her in-laws, servants and even a few curious guards were bustling about near the bee hives, hauling heavy planks, weaving reeds and hammering together new frames. The air was thick with excitement, punctuated by the steady buzz if bees.

"What is going on--" Sienna began, but Ali darted forward, eyes shining.

"Mama! mama! While you were gone, Honey Thunder went out and brought back another bee! Look!" She pointed toward the hive, where a smaller, crimson colored queen bee hovered regally beside Honey Thunder. The newcomer’s wings shimmered like red rubies in the sunlight. There were honeycombs on the table that glistened with dark red nectar.

The entire area around the bee hives, stables and gardens was under a roof. Sienna had not known that Elias and Geo had made these arrangements before winter even came. So, snow was not a problem around here.

Her breath caught. The red queen was magnificent, slightly smaller than her bee but radiating a strange authority. Shalin and Nanny Fortunate were whispering about the taste of the honey, saying it was richer than wine and smoother than velvet.

Already, jars of the crimson honey were being passed around for storage. Liman and a group of guards were fighting over a single jar, licking their fingers with delight.

"Mama, mama, can we ride on her back?" Ali tugged on Sienna’s sleeve. "She won’t let me near her. Brother names her Red queen." She giggled. "She is as red as a tomato."

Sienna carried Ali was marched over bravely. She had a feeling the bee would not hurt her. Despite the attempts of the guards to stop her, Sienna made it through. Red queen lowered its body, allowing her to stroke its warm, vibrating body. But when Ali tried to come near, the bee flared its wings and hissed, forcing her to take her hand back.

"Mama..." she cried out, pouting. Here wide eyes begged for justice.

Sienna patted her back, "Patience little fox. You cannot gain her trust in a heartbeat, you have to be patient. To show her you care."

Ali folded her arms across her chest. "That’s too much work."

The adults laughed. Sienna sighed, Ali was the most impatient child she had ever met.

Then, Jess walked to them, eyeing Red queen suspiciously, "Sienna, do you have any idea how many phones have been ringing around here since your bee went out and kidnapped another queen bee?"

Sienna raised her brows. "Kidnapped is an exaggeration."

Jess wagged her finger, "Oh, it was a kidnapping. Does that bee look like it wants to be around humans? The last time a crimson bee was seen was six hundred years ago. They were thought to be extinct. Only the fox god knows where this one was hiding. Someone here spread the news in certain circles. Two jars of red honey went missing after Lenard paid a convenient visit two hours ago.

Now we have merchants that want exclusive rights to sell the honey. Some callers offered fortunes and others threatened lawsuits, claiming the bee belongs to the empire, not just you."

Grandpa Jesse joined then, watching the chaos with a frown. "The king has also called. So have a handful of other learning institutes. I am afraid we are not going to have peace for sometime. Elias turned this beach into private property and the security is good, but it won’t stop determined thieves from coming through." He clenched his jaw. "We should all sleep with one eye open tonight."

Ali tugged at her sleeve. "Mama, will they take her away?"
