Chapter 261: Last patting session.

When Sienna’s offices were moved out of the city, Elias had given up on the dream of stopping by her office at random times of the day. He didn’t expect her to show up to his office at lunch time, balancing a lacquered lunch box in her arms. The guards outside waved her in with grins.

"Lunch delivery," She announced, glancing at the mountain of paperwork on his desk. As she set the box down she said, "If you keep glaring at paperwork, you will starve. Your father is free and he needs a distraction, you should give him some of your duties. A burden shared is a burden....." She grimaced, "I don’t know how to complete that statement. I just wanted to say something clever."

Elias raised an eyebrow, but his lips softened. "You worry about my father more than his parents and children." He rose from behind his desk, picked up the food box and joined her on a couch.

"I worry about your father because he is my father-in-law and he is good to me." She touched her neck, tipping her chin up. "He sent me this fox heart necklace, Mija said it is worth twenty five million. Your father is good to me. I have to be good to him."

He leaned closer, taking a look at the necklace up close. He had been there when his father picked it, but he thought it was for his mother. Elias imagined what his mother would do when she found out about it.

They unpacked the dishes together: braised fish, steamed buns, rice and a cabbage salad. She poured the strawberry juice and tea, while he tasted the fish.

"Not bad," he said.

She smirked. "Grandma Byra’s cooking has never been bad. Although, I am better than her. I am the best cook among us all. I am the best cook in this kingdom. I am the best cook in the world."

He chuckled. "Could your ego get any bigger?"

She replied with a smirk, "I am still short, compared to you."

Elias snorted, eating more fish slowly, savoring the rich taste. He didn’t want to be the one that told his wife her grandmother was a better cook than her. Sienna knew recipes, but Byra had the magic touch.

Their conversation meandered as they ate: She complained about Ali trying on her shoes and misplacing them. He countered with Elder Tomlin’s beard getting caught in the door and needing a whole crew of enforcers and medics to rescue him.

They debated whether to visit the royal ice museum or go skiing over the weekend and whether it should be a couple’s event or a family one.

By the time the buns were gone, Sienna’s system was chiming reminders about the final patting session.

She looked at clock on the wall and asked, "Are you free for patting therapy?"

He patted his belly and groaned. "Seriously? Right after lunch?" Before she could find a reason to extend it, he shifted to his fox form, sleek, white-furred, majestic. Right before her eyes, the size shrunk, to almost cub form and he leaped into her arms, laying on his back.

Her eyes gleamed. It took everything within her not to scream like an excited lunatic. She placed her hands on his belly, patting rhythmically. The therapy had always been done in human form. It seemed he was rewarding her, knowing her love for furry things. Or, he had grown to trust her completely.

She run her fingers through the fur, while he remained still, sprawled like a spoiled cat, a single tail flicking. It was downright ridiculous. If anyone saw him like this, he would never live down the embarrassment.

Sienna didn’t say anything to fill the silence in the office. But she didn’t need to. The silence was enjoyable, the activity relaxing. Thirty minutes passed in a blur of pats, suppressed laughter, and the occasional growl when she missed the rhythm.

Finally, the system chimed. [Congratulations host. Your rewards are available.

Sienna’s hand dropped, and she calmed herself. "Finally, it is over."

A box materialized out of thin air, sitting on the table. Elias didn’t blink, he was used to weird things happening around her. For all she knew, she had moved the box from somewhere else with her mental strength. He changed his form, to unbox the package for her.

Sienna’s attention was focused on the shimmering light of the screen, which presented a list of her rewards. As usual, it was toys, fruits, weight loss snacks for her and a mental strength reward tied to her husband.

She looked down at her husbands claws that were ripping the box apart, and screamed. Immediately, she rescued her box and did the unboxing herself.

The system had sent her three types of seeds. Ironberry fruits, that resembled blueberries, but they were different from the first blueberries she receives. These ones boosted physical strength, so they were good for beast men who relied on physical strength.

Bloommelon fruit, which looked like cantaloupe. It enhanced fertility, making it easier for women to conceive.

Last was a pear that could keep the body feeling full for six hours, perfect for long journeys.

She couldn’t help frowning. How did the system decide what fruits she needed? Like the Bloommelon. Had it known that she wanted to help Serenya? Or was it because she was suspected to be pregnant? Was something wrong with her own fertility?

"Which one of these can be used in making wines?" Elias asked, holding up three different seed packets, frowning deeply.

She blinked. "Don’t even think about it." Her hands, pulled the toys from their section. Ten bouncing balls, a wooden puzzle and a mechanical bird.

Elias snatched the bird immediately, tail wagging. "Mine, this one is mine. You can’t give it to Ali or Eli, it is mine."

She gaped. "You are worse than the children!"

Lastly, she flipped her hands through the weight loss foods. The number was ten times compared to the times before. She could only guess that it was related to the increase in how many times she needed to pat Elias. The system was not talkative, it rarely answered her questions. Most of the time, she had to speculate its intentions.

But as long as it helped her with mental strength and survival, she candidly had no complaints, until she came back to the shared skill she had been given: fox seduction!
