Chapter 579: Chapter 578: Seeing the base run by criminals
The other members were also accommodating, and seeing that their attitude was alright, it seemed that they were getting along well.
They were only with the team for a day, so Bei and Gina obviously got along with Nathan better than the others.
Well, even after integrating with the team properly, they’ll probably still be the closest to Nathan because of Nathan’s personality and, of course, because they’re already friends to begin with.
The heavy rains and strong winds continued for another day again before it stopped. They didn’t wait for the sky to clear up and continued traveling southwards.

When they were about 3 kilometers away from their destination, they stopped because the base that they planned to check out was the base that the others had warned them about.
They planned to stay where they were first while some people would go and check out the base. They were currently on top of the mountain that was overlooking the base that they had to check out.
The mountain also had a cell station, so those who needed to do something in it started working on the cell station while the others drove a bit further to see the base where they had to go.
Luciel also wanted to stretch a bit, so he also followed Treyton and the others in taking a look over the base that they had mentioned.
When he looked down, he could see the base that they were talking about because it wasn’t too far from the mountain that they were currently at.
Luciel saw that the base was indeed big compared to the bases that they had seen before. Its size was actually half the size of the North Base.
The base that they could see also had walls all around it, and it could be seen that most parts of the walls weren’t finished yet, as a lot of people were still working on them.
It was obvious that they had only worked on the most outer part of the walls but hadn’t thickened them yet, so it seemed that a lot of people were working to build it again.
He couldn’t see clearly, but it was obvious that there were really a lot of people doing the construction work.
"Fuck! What the heck!" Nathan exclaimed while looking through the binoculars that they had.
"I’ll kill all of those pigs later!" Myla also said with obvious anger.
Both of them were the ones who had immediately used their binoculars, so they certainly saw more than them.
Since they seemed to be angry about it, Luciel also picked up one of the binoculars in the box that Mark had been carrying before and also looked towards the base.
With the magnified view thanks to the binoculars, he could clearly see what the people in the base were doing as long as they were outside and weren’t covered by the shadows of the buildings around them.
Near the center of the base, there was an open space. He only knew that there were people in there but could not clearly see what they were doing before using the binoculars.
But after using them, he could clearly see that there were actually a lot of people that were having sex in broad daylight.
Luciel doesn’t really care much about the hobbies of people, as some people could only have their desires satisfied if their hobbies were granted, and there were certainly people who would be willing to do what they wanted, be it because they’re also into it or doing it for their own purposes like survival.
However, looking at the people at that base, those people were obviously treating those below them too badly; even though they’re still far, the injuries and malnourishment of those people were very obvious.
And those people don’t even seem to have their own wills anymore, as Luciel didn’t see anyone resisting even though it was obvious that they were already in pain and were treated badly.
As for those people using them, it seems that they don’t have any more conscience, as they’re still having fun or talking to others and even exchanging partners or further bullying those below them for their own fun. He couldn’t hear anything, but it was very obvious from their expressions and actions.
As for the people around them, it seemed that they’re also accustomed to such scenes already, as if they were just walking away or doing their own jobs.
Aside from the wide open space that could be easily seen, he also looked around the base more and saw the difference in people living there, even though he probably hadn’t seen the worst of it yet because he only looked around for a few minutes and had only seen those that could be seen through their binoculars.
Just like what some of those people who had luckily escaped reported, the base that he was seeing had really descended into a slavery system.
The people in there could only be divided into being masters or being slaves.
Those who were treated as masters could obviously do whatever they wanted, especially those who probably had higher ranks and just played with their slaves and did whatever they wanted with them.
Those masters were obviously having a good time while their slaves were doing all the work and other things that they’re supposed to do, especially those physical works like building walls and other things.
With what he had seen, it was obvious that there were more slaves in that base, but those people didn’t seem to even want to resist those people that were commanding them, so those who were controlling the entire base were probably powerful and cruel, just like what the others had said before.
If they weren’t, then with the number of people that they were treating as slaves, those people would have probably rebelled already.
