Chapter 86: Cassien Artfold’s Masterpiece 3

"Remember the moment the [Game-System] announced Class-1C as the owners of the second territory?"

Aiysha nodded, and Cassien continued.

"We weren’t only given territory, but a set of numerous rewards as well, as you might already be aware from my judgment."

"So then, what other than points did you receive?" Aiysha asked in a confused manner.

"The [Heart of Judgment]. Its abilities are quite simple. You receive one relevant clue every 24 hours about another class’s leader." 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮

"That’s broken..."

Cassien smiled. "Actually, the only clue we received about you guys was that your leader had spoken to one of us."

"So then how’d you—"

"I’m getting to it, just wait." He stated. "I noticed how the representatives governing the rules of the exam never once stated that the leader had to be on the island."

Aiysha’s demeanor slowly darkened.

"And then it clicked... You guys tricked me into thinking your leader was someone from your group. That’s why you made Ray a sacrifice, just so you guys could win. A smart tactic, if I do say so myself. I’m just surprised you really thought you could beat me with that loser shit." He said coldly, the same smirk remaining on his face.

"Why’d you think I’m capable of such a thing?"

Cassien rolled his finger in circles. "Because I know better than anyone that you’re capable of dark logic. You come from a family of assassins after all. No shame in it at all, the idea itself was brilliant. If I was your father, I would be one happy dad right now."

"How about the rest?"

"Class-1A was found quite easily actually. I overheard your conversation between you and the three women, and took that as my [Lucky] guess, you could say. Charles West was their assigned leader."

"Class-1D?" Aiysha remained persistent.

"Uhh..."

Cassien had Theodore working as a double-agent.

"Someone betrayed them and I took advantage of it. It ended up being Amelia O’Driscoll."

Aiysha sighed, her eyes shut. "Why am I not surprised...? Though, making Siv kill those three was a decision that you didn’t have to make."

Cassien didn’t agree.

"He was a liability, I had to remove him to win... but I thought to myself, ’Why not kill two birds with one stone?’ And killing those three would allow Audrey to feel more at ease. Our class now has no disadvantages."

"Aren’t you scared he might snitch?"

Cassien laughed, as if it were a joke.

"Snitch on what? I never shot anything. I would never do such a thing. Plus, the type of guy he is... he’s probably in a depression phase where he doesn’t even remember the details of what he had done."

"That early?"

"I’ve already said before that if I let it go on any longer, Audrey would’ve gotten involved, and I couldn’t have that."

She simply nodded, watching the calm waters below as they continued to drift around the cruise ship.

Cassien began walking over toward her, Aiysha’s gaze never blinking.

"Now, my beautiful Ms. Moon," he whispered dramatically. "What is it that you want from me? Remember, I did tell you I would do anything after all, in return for that cloning device."

Aiysha smiled slightly. "I’m glad you could remember. It’s quite simple, really."

"Okay... carry on then."

"I want you to go shopping with me."

Her face didn’t turn red, nor did her composure drift away even slightly.

"Huh...?" Cassien felt confused at first. "During our break?"

"Mhm." She nodded.

Cassien laughed a little. "Do you like me or something?"

"No," she turned away. "I’ve just never had the chance to experience the mall with a male. Many girls have had that choice, yet I haven’t."

"Whatever you say, Ms. Moon."

Cassien was expecting it to be some assassination mission, or something quite adventurous... not a day as boring as strolling through a mall.

"Anyways, I’ll be heading down soon."

"We should exchange contacts if that’s the case."

Aiysha looked back, nodding. "Got it."

After doing so, the two parted ways. Cassien remained on top of the cruise ship’s roof, simply watching the night sky above as Aiysha stepped back into her cozy room.

He sat down, his back against the roof while placing both hands behind his head for comfort.

’I’m glad I skipped around her blessing, even if it was by a small margin.’ Cassien sighed. ’Well, looks like break is about to start. These kids better thank me for getting them three or four extra days off.’

For a second, a scent of guilt crept into his skin.

He had just ruined someone’s life in order to change [Fate].

Was it worth it?

Only time would tell.

His eyes now attached to the night above, Cassien couldn’t think about anything else other than everything that had happened so far.

Yet, there were still many mysteries unsolved.

’Who is the sniper assassin at the academy?’

’Who is the author, and what are their goals truly?’

’Will Cassien be able to change his own [Fate] while figuring out why he attempted to murder Ren Castor?’

’Who is this [Nameless Extra] individual?’

All those questions, and many others, continued flooding his mind endlessly.

For once, Cassien’s life finally moved at a slower pace.

Then, suddenly, some advancements arrived.

Cassien inhaled deeply, then exhaled whatever oxygen remained in his lungs.

’Time to put some character points in.’
