Chapter 637: Sea Beasts Tide 5

As the nine whispered, a group of female cultivators walked towards them.

"Fellow Daoist Zhao." A female voice greeted and the nine turned to look.

"It’s fellow Daoist Yang Jian. We haven’t seen each other since the Blood Lake incident. How are you doing?" Zhao Wen said, his lips curled in a rare smile.

Hearing this, Yang Jian nodded and subconsciously looked around.

"We would like to invite our fellow Taoists from the sword sect to have tea in my cave. What do you think?" Yang Jian asked.

"The One Hundred Flowers Valley has the best tea in the Cangxing world. It’s an honour to accompany fellow Daoist Yang for tea." Zhao Wen said and Yang Jian nodded before leading the way.

Soon after, nine swordsmen and five female cultivators sat in an elegant lounge with tea cups before them.

"Has fellow Daoist Zhao seen the Fog Sea?" Yang Jian suddenly asked.

"Seen?" Zhao Wen was confused but soon continued.

"I have only heard of it." He said.

"The inside of the Fog Sea has suddenly become visible. My sisters and I have seen it."

"This..." The swordsmen looked at the female cultivators with curious expressions.

"Friends from the One Hundred Flowers sect, can you tell us more about it?" Xu Lang asked.

"From this distance, we can see ten islands in the Fog Sea. The ten islands are in a circle surrounding a white cover." Cang Ziqi, Bai Chunhua’s second disciple, said.

"White cover?" Murong Qi asked.

"Is the white cover a formation?" Zhao Wen also asked.

"My second sister is a level five formation master. Although she can’t tell its level from this distance, she is sure it is a powerful defensive formation." Yang Jian said with a solemn face.

When they heard this, Zhao Wen and Xu Lang narrowed their eyes.

’Does a family that has such a powerful formation still need our help?’ Xu Lang wondered and a trace of unease flashed in his eyes.

Xu Lang felt the matter was not simple from the moment their master mentioned it.

Now that he heard about the formation, he felt even more uneasy.

’Master and most other nascent soul realm cultivators have been wanting to explore the Fog Sea for hundreds of years. Do they want to take advantage of the sea beasts’ tide to enter the Fog Sea?’ He wondered.

Objectively, this was not a bad plan.

However, Xu Lang always felt it wasn’t a good idea.

His instincts told him that he shouldn’t get involved in the matter.

"I don’t know why but I always feel I shouldn’t go to the Fog Sea." Murong Qi said, his brows creased in a confused expression.

"I thought it was just me." The sixth disciple said.

"I also don’t want to go." Bai Chunhua’s fourth disciple also added.

"I feel I may never return if we go there."

"I have felt the need to escape since Master mentioned it."

"Wait..." Xu Lang looked around.

"Does everyone feel this way?" He asked and everyone nodded.

"Something is wrong." Zhao Wen said and Yang Jian nodded.

"The Fog Sea is a mysterious place that we have all yearned for. It’s likely a treasure trove with many resources that can help us advance. However, I feel I shouldn’t go there. At least not now and not in this situation." Yang Jian said and soon continued.

"There must be a reason we all feel this way."

"I agree with fellow Daoist Yang." Zhao Wen said.

"We shouldn’t ignore this instinct or we may end up regretting it."

"But what can we do?" Murong Qi asked.

"Our masters are nascent soul realm cultivators. Our lives and futures may not be guaranteed if we refuse to go or escape from this place."

.....

In the Fog Sea, the Ying guards were holding an image stone meeting.

"How is the situation on your islands?" Ying Yi asked.

"Everyone has retreated into the protective formation but I lost ninety-three people." Ying San said.

"I lost eighty-four."

"Eighty-seven."

"Seventy-nine."

"Ninety."

"I lost seventy-two." Ying Yi said with a solemn expression.

"Our losses are not small. How is morale?"

"My team is in shock. They have finally realised that fighting sea beasts is not a game."

"It’s the same at my place."

Hearing this, Ying Yi nodded before he spoke.

"We are safe within the level five protective formations. However, although the formations can’t be broken in a short time, we shouldn’t allow the sea beasts to recklessly attack them."

"I agree." Ying Si said.

Excluding Jiang Yue, he, Jiang Han, and Yu Jing were the best formation masters in the Zhenyue archipelago.

However, they were only level-three formation masters.

If the formations broke, they wouldn’t be able to fix them.

When Ying Si thought of this, his face turned unusually solemn.

"Each outpost should select a team of formation masters to keep an eye on the protective formation. This way, we will know in time if the formations are damaged."

"It’s a good idea." The Ying guards immediately agreed.

"We need to mount a counterattack as soon as possible." Ying Wu said.

"How do we fight?" Ying Ba asked.

"Puppets." Ying Shi reminded and Ying Yi nodded in agreement.

"The beast-type puppets have a demon core in their shells. Because of this, these puppets can exert and cancel coercion. My plan is to divide my team into groups of five. Each group will have a beast-type puppet to help them deal with level-three sea beasts. You can use this idea if you think it’s feasible." Ying Yi said.

"As expected of the eldest brother." Ying San praised.

"The idea is good." Ying Shi nodded and the others also agreed.

After choosing a counterattack method, the meeting moved on to the next agenda.

"Does everyone have enough supplies?" Ying Yi asked.

"We suffered a lot of losses in the previous attack but we still have enough supplies."

"We have enough for now."

"Don’t wait until you don’t have enough to begin preparing. Have your alchemists, weapon refiners and other masters begin preparing reserves." Ying Yi reminded.
