Chapter 636: Sea Beasts Tide 4
Ten kilometres from the shore of the East Sea, thirteen cultivators gathered in a large portable cave.
Of the thirteen, nine were male and four were female.
However, all were nascent soul realm cultivators.
Looking at his twelve companions, Duan Quan smiled.
"Level three sea beasts appeared today." He said.
Hearing this, Bai Chunhua, Ximen Li, and several others lowered their eyes in shame.
"Fellow Daoist Duan, this situation is not right." A male cultivator said.
This person was a male cultivator named Wang Bin.
Unlike Ximen Li and Bai Chunhua who joined the plot in the early stages, Wang Bin had just arrived.
At first, he thought Duan Quan gathered them because he wanted to take advantage of the situation.
Unexpectedly, that was not the case.
When he realised Duan Quan was the culprit behind the sea beasts’ tide, Wang Bin couldn’t wait to escape.
However, he couldn’t leave without voicing his thoughts.
"It’s been less than a month since the tide began. It’s too early for level three sea beasts to appear." He said.
"I also think so." A female cultivator said.
This female cultivator was Tang Shu.
She was a casual cultivator and her cultivation was at the mid-stage of the nascent soul realm.
Like Wang Bin, she had just joined the gathering.
"Does it matter?" Duan Quan asked and Tang Shu couldn’t help but frown.
"Fellow Daoist Duan, what do you mean?" Tang Shu narrowed her eyes.
"What does it matter if they appear now or later? What’s done is done. We can’t change what has already happened."
Hearing this, Tang Shu looked at the person and suddenly stood up.
"I am neither a righteous nor an evil cultivator. However, my tao does not allow me to get involved in the massacre of millions of innocent lives. You may do as you wish but I will not stay." She said.
"I will also not stay." Wang Bin also stood up.
"Neither will I." Another male cultivator stood up.
"Second brother-in-law?" Duan Quan called in a surprised voice.
"I rushed here from the weapon refining city but didn’t expect you dared to drag me into such a sinful matter." Bai Feng angrily said.
After that, Tang Shu, Wang Bin, and Bai Feng left the portable cave.
Outside, Wang Bin looked at Tang Shu.
"What does fellow Daoist Tang intend to do?" He asked and Tang Shu sighed in resignation.
"I will join the Cangxing sect in resisting the sea beasts’ tide." The woman said and Bai Feng nodded in approval.
"We may have nothing to do with this sea beast tide but Duan Quan involved us. This cause and effect cannot be ignored." Bai Feng said with a gloomy expression.
"Does fellow Daoist Bai also plan to fight the sea beasts?" Tang Shu asked and Bai Feng nodded.
"I plan to go to Tianqi city." He said.
"Let’s go together." Wang Bin suggested.
Soon after, the three gathered their people and rushed towards Tianqi city.
In the portable cave, Duan Quan had a gloomy expression.
"Like fellow Daoist Duan said, what’s done is done. What’s the use of regret?" A female cultivator said and several others nodded in agreement.
After that, the nascent soul realm cultivators left Duan Quan’s cave and returned to their own.
In his cave, Ximen Li sat in the main seat while his disciples sat below him.
"Master..." The youngest disciple hesitatingly called.
"What is it?" Ximen Li asked, his voice revealing a trace of impatience.
"Master, are we going to fight the sea beasts?" Murong Qi asked.
When they heard the question, the other disciples also paid attention.
Unfortunately, their master was doomed to disappoint them.
"We will go to the Fog Sea in a few days." Ximen Li revealed.
"Fog Sea?" The third disciple couldn’t help but be shocked.
"Master, the Fog Sea is in the East Sea." Murong Qi reminded, worried his master had forgotten such an important detail.
"The Fog Sea is in the middle of the sea beasts’ tide." The fourth disciple added.
Hearing this, Ximen Li sighed.
In fact, he regretted his greed.
Unfortunately, things had gone too far and he could no longer retreat.
"The fog sea is indeed in the middle of the sea beasts’ tide. However, there is a big family living there." Ximen Li revealed.
"A big family?" The fifth disciple asked with a curious expression.
"It’s a mysterious clan called the Zhenyue family."
"Master, even if that’s the case, we can’t ignore the sea beasts’ tide." Zhao Wen, the eldest disciple said, his eyes narrowed into slits.
"We are going to aid the Zhenyue family in resisting the tide." Ximen Li said but his eldest disciple didn’t believe him.
After all, he had been with Ximen Li for over five hundred years.
"Master, did the Zhenyue family ask for help?" Xu Lang, the seventh disciple asked, his lips curled in an innocent smile.
"The family has not asked for help but it’s our duty as righteous cultivators to resist the sea beasts’ tide."
"Won’t we be mistaken for invaders if we suddenly go there?" Xu Lang asked.
"We still have to go." Ximen Li said in a firm voice.
"Why is that?" Zhao Wen asked.
"The Zhenyue family only has origin forging realm and qi transformation realm cultivators. They will all die if we don’t help them."
"Master, how can such a weak family live in the Fog Sea?" Murong Qi asked in an incredulous voice.
"Get ready for now. We will leave after a few days."
"Understood." The disciples said and immediately left their master’s portable cave.
Once outside, eight pairs of eyes turned to Zhao Wen.
"What’s wrong?" Zhao Wen asked.
"This matter is strange." Murong Qi said and several others nodded in unison.
"I suddenly regret rushing here when we received our master’s summon. We should have stayed in the sword sect." The sixth disciple said.
"Do you dare to disobey our master?" The second disciple asked and the sixth disciple looked away.
