Chapter 556: Becoming Factory Workers
"Don’t worry, I am only interested in your naked body." Yu Nianzhen assured with a happy smile in his eyes.
"Good." Jiang Yue snorted.
After that, the two left the fifth factory and returned to the third.
Fortunately, the recruitment was still going on and the two smoothly got a job.
Two hours later, a worker led thirteen new employees from the office building to the factory dormitories.
The dormitories were located in the innermost part of the factory compound.
At a glance, there were six buildings and each had three floors.
Without a word, the worker led the new employees to the sixth building and climbed the stairs to the third floor.
Pointing to a room, he turned to the new employees and spoke.
"All the rooms after this one are empty." He said and quickly continued.
"Two people per room. You can decide by yourselves."
Hearing this, Yu Nianzhen and Jiang Yue looked at each other.
Soon after, they followed the others to check the empty rooms but their effort was unnecessary.
This was because all the remaining rooms were exactly the same.
Each room was about ten square metres and had a metal bunk bed, a bathroom and a small kitchen.
Aside from the bunkbed, each room had a stove, an empty gas cylinder, a mop bucket, and a mop.
Since the rooms were similar, the new employees quickly chose their rooms and everyone went their way.
In their room, Jiang Yue looked around and sighed.
"We need to buy a lot of things." He said.
"Mmmm." Yu Nianzhen agreed and then continued.

"In that case, let’s go shopping."
Soon after, the two left the dormitory and walked towards the Jialan city shopping centre.
As they walked, they discussed their situation and Yu Nianzhen made a shopping list on his mobile phone.
"First, we need a mattress and two sets of bedding." Jiang Yue started and the swordsman wrote it down.
"Towels, cooking pans, utensils, hygiene products, foodstuff, and groceries."
"What about clothes?" Jiang Yue questioned.
When they left Lingshui town, they only had time to collect money and a few documents. At the moment, they only had the clothes on their back and not much else.
"Fortunately, we will be wearing the factory uniform most of the time. We can each buy a set of clothes for the weekend." Yu Nianzhen said and subconsciously clenched his hands.
In fact, he was uncomfortable with their situation.
However, there was nothing he could do for the time being.
"Okay, let’s do that." Jiang Yue agreed and held his lover’s hand.
He knew Yu Nianzhen was unhappy but what could they do?
After deciding, the two walked in silence and soon arrived at the shopping centre.
Since it was already afternoon, they didn’t buy everything they needed.
Instead, they bought the most urgent things and planned to buy the rest the following day.
By the time Yu Nianzhen and Jiang Yue finished buying everything; and cleaning and arranging their room, it was already the weekend.
"We won’t start work until Monday. Azhen, do you want to go on a date?" Jiang Yue asked and stretched his arm to clasp his lover’s hand.
"Okay." Yu Nianzhen immediately agreed.
They had been on Earth for more than a year but rarely had time to have fun. Now that they had a free weekend, he naturally wanted to spend time with Jiang Yue.
Although they only had one thousand yuan to survive until their first paycheque, there were many things they could do that didn’t require spending money.
"What do you want to do?" Jiang Yue asked.
"Jialan forest is near here. Why don’t we go hiking?"
"Will your body be okay?"
"Don’t worry."
The next day, the two woke up early, had breakfast, packed a few things, and went to the bus station.
Jialan forest was half an hour from Jialan city.
It had many hiking trails and many people liked to go there during the weekend.
Since Yu Nianzhen’s body was weak, the two chose a beginner course and slowly made their way through the forest
When they felt tired, they would sit on the ground, drink water, and talk about nothing and everything.
In this way, the day quickly passed and the two did not leave Jialan forest until the sun began to set.
When they finally returned to their room, it was already past eight, and the two were extremely tired.
However, their minds were at ease and both felt happy after spending the day together.
The following day was Sunday.
Since the two were tired from the hike, they spent the day in their room and prepared to start work the following day.
On Monday morning, Yu Niazhen and Jiang Yue left their room and rushed to the entrance of warehouse number seven.
As new workers, Yu Nianzhen, Jiang Yue, and other new employees were assigned to warehouse number seven.
From what they knew, the workers in warehouse number five through seven were responsible for packing the company’s products
Although the work was not difficult, it was very particular.
Because of this, a warehouse supervisor was assigned to oversee the new employees until they were ready to work without supervision.
The name of the female supervisor was Cheng Fang.
Cheng Fang was in her late twenties but wore so much makeup that she looked a little older.
"She looks more like a Madam than a factory supervisor." Jiang Yue whispered and Yu Nianzhen forcibly suppressed a smile.
"Don’t let her hear you." He said.
"You..., are you listening to me?" A high-pitched voice suddenly interrupted their secret conversation.
When they heard it, Yu Nianzhen and Jiang Yue turned around, only to see Cheng Fang looking at them.
"Don’t worry supervisor Cheng, we are properly listening." Jiang Yue said with a solemn look.
Hearing this, Cheng Fang snorted but didn’t make things difficult for them.
Instead, she continued her explanation.
"Each of you needs to pack one thousand boxes every day. Only after you submit your quota can you leave for the day." She said.
"What about lunch?" One of the new employees asked.
"You only know how to eat." Cheng Fang muttered, her eyes filled with disdain.
However, she knew her position.
Although she looked down on the new employees, their performance reflected on her performance. If they made mistakes, it would negatively affect her compensation.
Knowing this, Cheng Fang continued to explain.
"Lunch is between one and two in the afternoon. If you think you can’t make your quota before the end of the workday, you can work through your lunch break." She said.
"What if I pack more than one thousand boxes, will it be carried forward to the next day’s quota?" Yu Nianzhen asked.
Unexpectedly, Cheng Fang laughed when she heard that.
She had been working in the factory for more than four years.
During that time, she had seen people who could pack more than one thousand boxes in a day.
However, those people were veterans.
For newcomers, it was wishful thinking to hope for more than one thousand boxes in a day.
In her experience, the newcomers would have to work overtime for almost a year before they learned how to meet their daily quotas during work hours.
However, Cheng Fang didn’t plan to reveal everything to the newcomers.
Instead, she turned to Yu Nianzhen and smiled.
"If you can pack more than one thousand boxes, the extra can be assigned to the next day’s quota. Also, the top three workers in each warehouse will receive a cash bonus at the end of each month." Cheng Fang said, smiling at the new employees with a cunning look in her eyes.
"Everyone should work hard to receive the cash bonus." She said.
’If the seventh warehouse does well, I will also receive a cash bonus.’ She thought.
After explaining everything, Cheng Fang called a few old workers and asked them to teach the new workers how to pack the boxes.
This teaching lasted for one hour.
After that, each of the new workers was assigned a workstation.
The workstation was a long table; about ten metres long.
On the table were white boxes, electronic parts, small plastic bags, and user manuals. At the end, there was a weighing machine and a small X-ray scanner.
According to instructions, the employees had to sort the parts, put them in the relevant plastic bags, pack all the small bags in the white boxes, and finally place a user manual on top of the small bags before sealing the boxes. After sealing the boxes, each box should be weighed, and scanned by the x-ray machine.
If the box was correctly packed, it would be added to the employee’s quota. If not, it would be returned for repacking.
Following the instructions, Jiang Yue and Yu Nianzhen started working in the warehouse.
On the first day, neither Yu Nianzhen nor Jiang Yue took their lunch break.
Instead, they worked through their lunch break but even then, they didn’t finish their work until nine at night.
When they returned to their room, both were extremely tired and hungry.
After showering and eating noodles, they went to sleep and didn’t wake up until their alarm went off at six-thirty in the morning.
"Azhen, how are you doing?" Jiang Yue looked at Yu Nianzhen with a worried look.
"I am tired but I will get used to it. How about you?"
"Same." Jiang Yue smiled and Yu Nianzhen smiled back.
"It won’t do to skip lunch every day." Yu Nianzhen couldn’t help but frown when he thought of the previous day.
"I know." Jiang Yue agreed.
"Let’s pack a lunch from now on."
After figuring it out, the two cooperated to prepare breakfast and pack the leftovers for lunch.
At eight in the morning, they arrived at warehouse seven and began their work for the day.
After the previous day, the two had a little experience and their work was smoother.
However, it was only better than their first day.
Although they did their best, they still couldn’t submit their quota within the normal working hours.
Most importantly, Cheng Fang finally showed her true colours.
