Chapter 322: Injuries
"Are you sure?" Yang Xu asked.
His face was unusually solemn and made he made sure not to miss a single change of his disciple’s expression.
"We are sure." Jiang Yue answered and smiled.
He then took his husband’s hand and Yang Xu sighed.
"Brother Yu, brother Jiang, I can’t go with you." Li Futian said.
"My soul is still unstable and it can’t stand the tossing of the next space."
"We understand." Jiang Yue nodded and looked at the others.
"I will go." Xuan Ke said.
Although he didn’t have a space-related origin, there was no harm in getting more treasures and comprehending space laws.
"Master? Mistress?" Yu Nianzhen asked.
"Your master and I will accompany you." Bing Lan answered.
"As my wife said." Yang Xu agreed.
When the matter was settled, everyone focused on attacking the space barrier.
They used all their strength but it still took one hour before a small hole opened in the space cracks barrier.
Instantaneously, Yu Nianzhen grabbed the treasure while Jiang Yue put Li Futian in the ancient palace.
A moment later, the sixth space collapsed and the five were transferred to the next space.
"Azhen..." Jiang Yue screamed as soon as they landed.
His voice was filled with terror and his heart was frantically beating in his chest.
Fortunately, his panic didn’t slow his movements.
His body reacted faster than his mind and he grabbed Yu Nianzhen’s wrist to prevent him from falling into a space crack.
"Take a pill quickly." He urged in a trembling voice.
"Don’t worry, I am fine." Yu Nianzhen suppressed his panic and comforted his husband.
When they got the last treasure in the previous space, they were standing relatively close.
However, the transfer displaced them a little and Yu Nianzhen was sent into a space crack.
Luckily, Jiang Yue reacted quickly and saved him. Otherwise, Yu Nianzhen would not have escaped with only some deep cuts on his legs.
"Take a pill first."
"En."
Yu Nianzhen did as he was told while Jiang Yue held his hand tightly.
When Jiang Yue thought that he had almost lost his lover to a space crack, he couldn’t calm down and had the urge to hold Yu Nianzhen to reassure himself that he was still alive.
Unfortunately, the situation didn’t allow for such indulgence.
Before their hearts could calm down, a black wind rushed towards them and the two ran to avoid it.
"This way." A voice entered their eyes.
The voice belonged to Xuan Ke and the two turned to see him standing with Yang Xu and Bing Lan.
"Is everyone okay?" Jiang Yue asked as they ran over.
"Senior Bing is a little injured but it isn’t serious." Xuan Ke answered and then continued.
"Brother Li was not exaggerating; this place is terrible."
"It’s worse than he said." Jiang Yue agreed with a gloomy look on his face.
The space was grey all around and the only relief was the black space cracks littered all over.
Once in a while, black winds would rise from the cracks and travel a distance before dying.
"Those black winds are made of tiny space cracks. They are very dangerous." Yang Xu warned.
"We will be careful." Yu Nianzhen said and the others agreed.
"Let’s choose..." Yu Nianzhen started and then pulled Jiang Yue to run.
The others also followed suit and barely a breath later, a space crack appeared in the previous place.
"This space doesn’t give people a chance to live." Xuan Ke complained.
"I hope the treasures are worth the trouble." Jiang Yue muttered.
"The higher the danger, the better the treasures." Bing Lan said and no one knew if she was consoling herself.
However, they all hoped it was so. Otherwise, they would have suffered so much for nothing.
"XiaoYue, which way should we go?" Yu Nianzhen asked.
After Jiang Yue came out of seclusion, Yu Nianzhen handed over the treasure compass.
Although the treasure compass couldn’t help them avoid danger, it could help them find all the treasures in the space.
"There should be something about one hundred metres to our right." Jiang Yue was quick to answer.
"Let’s go." Yang Xu said and everyone resolutely followed Jiang Yue’s instructions.
At ordinary times, a distance of one hundred metres could be covered in one breath.
However, the space plane was not an ordinary place.
Because they had to navigate space cracks and avoid space winds, it took half a day to reach the place pointed out by Jiang Yue.
Even then, they were still injured and their condition was quite miserable by the time they arrived.
"Is it here?" Xuan Ke asked and frowned.
From what he could see, there was nothing in the area except a huge rock.
The rock was about two metres long, one metre wide, and three metres tall.
"It is this rock." Jiang Yue said as he walked around the rock.
"Is there something in the rock?" Bing Lan asked as she examined the rock.
"It should be so." Jiang Yue nodded.
"Let’s put it in the ancient palace and deal with it when we leave the space plane." Yu Nianzhen suggested and no one objected.
Although everyone was eager to know what was in the rock, it was too dangerous to stand in one place for too long.
Since the rock could be moved, it was better to move it and think about the rest later.
"Junior Li is in the ancient palace. If he is free, he can work on the rock while we explore." Bing Lan reminded.
"It’s a good idea." Jiang Yue said and contacted Li Futian while Yu Nianzhen moved the rock.
After that, Jiang Yue determined another direction and the five began to make their way.
While they were walking, Yu Nianzhen remembered that he hadn’t checked what they got from the previous space and something appeared on the palm of his hand.
"Is that from the previous space?" Jiang Yue asked excitedly.
"Mmmmh." Yu Nianzhen answered but he looked a little distracted.
This was because his contracted beast was clamouring again and a deep longing was transmitted to his mind.
The longing was superior to when they got the egg and Yu Nianzhen couldn’t help but be curious.
"What is it?" Xuan Ke asked.
"It looks like a demonic beast core." Yang Xu said and held out his hand to take the spherical object.
"Master, do you know which demonic beast it belongs to?"
Yang Xu didn’t answer his disciple’s question.
Instead, he injected his divine sense into the core, wanting to investigate.
However, his divine sense had barely touched the core before it was rebounded.
Yang Xu had not prepared for this and the backlash attacked his body causing a line of blood to drip from the edge of his mouth.
"Axu..."
"Master..."
"Master..."
"Senior Yang..."
Several voices resounded but Yang Xu didn’t hear them.
Because of the backlash, his qi was rampaging in his body and he had already sustained some internal injuries.
Fortunately, he didn’t panic under pressure and he quickly streamlined the rampaging qi.
When he opened his eyes, it was a few breaths later and his complexion was incredibly pale.
"Master..." Yu Nianzhen called.
"Don’t worry, I am fine." Yang Xu said and returned the core to his disciple.
"I couldn’t tell what beast it belongs to." He said and sighed.
From the brief experience, he knew the core belonged to an incredibly powerful demonic beast.
"Its cultivation when it was alive was several realms higher than the nascent soul realm."
"So high?" Jiang Yue asked and his eyes shone in wonder.
It was rare to come across remnants from ancient times and he couldn’t help but be excited.
"The ancient times were prosperous and the nascent soul realm was barely worthy of mention. I don’t if our Cangxing world will..." Yang Xu started but didn’t finish.
However, everyone understood what they meant.
When Yu Nianzhen and Jiang Yue first arrived in the Cangxing world, they didn’t have deep feelings for the place.
However, they had been in the world for a long time and their feelings had naturally changed.
Now, they were just like those born in the Cangxing world.
They wanted the world to have a second spring and experience an eternal prosperous age.
"Master, our Cangxing world will prosper." Yu Nianzhen said and Jiang Yue nodded.
For some reason, they both felt that their purpose for coming to the Cangxing world was related to this matter.
Although they didn’t know what they were supposed to do, they always felt that everything was leading to such an end.
"Alright, let’s go to the next place." Yang Xu said and smiled at his disciple.
If anyone else said such words, Yang Xu would believe they were trying to comfort him.
However, since he met Yu Nianzhen and Jiang Yue, he felt they were different.
He felt they were important and had a role to play in the grand scheme of things.
’My only wish is that they will be strong enough not to be swept by the times.’ He thought.
