Chapter 1126: Chapter 1126: Naked Threat to the Reporter
The journalist’s eyes were bloodshot, and he glared at Aurelia Shaw with gritted teeth, "If it’s not regret, why did you return to the country this time? I heard that you went abroad before because you did something to betray Mason Nightshade and were banned by him, so you had no choice but to leave. Did you come back this time because you’ve found a more powerful backer than Nightshade?"
"A mouth only meant for spouting nonsense is quite useless," came a sinister voice from the side.
The journalist shivered violently and suspiciously eyed the tall and imposing man beside Aurelia Shaw. He was wearing a mask, obscuring his face.
But the man next to Aurelia Shaw... He must be a bodyguard, right? Why does this bodyguard’s gaze feel so cold and terrifying, like he wants to kill him...
Aware that the man beside her was angry, Aurelia Shaw squeezed Mason Nightshade’s fingers discreetly where others couldn’t see, calming the almost uncontrollable wild wolf, as her brow arched in a rebellious defiance.
She tugged down the mask from her face, revealing her exquisite and stunning features. Her red lips carried a disdainful and defiant smile. "Before you speak any words, if you don’t have any proof and you falsely slander me, attempting to manipulate the narrative and smear me, I will sue you.
I may not have other virtues, but anyone who tries to stab me in the back, I’ll drag them down to hell with me even if it leaves me battered."
The crowd felt a chill crawl up from the base of their spines to the top of their heads.
What the hell! This is an overt threat, right?
But damn it, they’re genuinely afraid!
They’re too scared to ask a single question!
What to do? Maybe you should ask?
No, no, why don’t you ask?
The crowd exchanged glances, then Aurelia Shaw flashed a friendly smile: "Hey, I was just kidding earlier, don’t take it seriously, everyone."
What part of that was a joke?! You were dead serious just now!
Someone wanted to question her like this, but the man beside Aurelia Shaw with that terrifyingly cold gaze silenced them, the words stuck in their throats, too afraid to speak.
Who are these people, that even their bodyguards are this intimidating? How is this interview supposed to continue?
"You didn’t answer any of the previous questions. Are you feeling guilty and deliberately avoiding them?" A voice rang out among the silence.
Aurelia Shaw glanced at the Easton Daily work badge on the person’s chest, a fleeting hint of darkness crossed her eyes.
The question itself was a trap.
Their every previous question was a trap. No matter what she said, they would misconstrue her words out of context.
She had already defused the situation with sarcasm earlier, never thought they would bring it up again.
She can’t believe this isn’t a deliberately targeted interview against her!
"If you’re genuinely conducting interviews, I’d accept it, but with one trap after another, I’m not feeling the sincerity." Aurelia Shaw said with a smile, "Just because I went abroad doesn’t mean I can never come back, right?
Sweethearts, that’s called immigrating, not just going abroad."
"So you’re saying you might return?" The Easton Daily journalist pursued the question.
Irritation flickering in Mason Nightshade’s eyes, is this person going to continue finding faults? Looking displeased, he truly wishes to dismiss them.
Glancing at the soft hand clutching his fingers, his turbulent heart was once again subdued.
"My private travel isn’t convenient to disclose. Work plans will be announced by the studio, anything else cannot be shared," Aurelia Shaw said, spotting security approaching. Sensing trouble when faced with this group of journalists, she had secretly texted the driver outside to inform security.
