Chapter 1038: Chapter 1038: Mason Nightshade Teases a Child
The little dumpling didn’t feel any remorse about abandoning his old dad. He hopped around, stretching out his arms and eagerly looking at Aurelia.
Aurelia couldn’t help but laugh, bending over to pick him up, but before she could hold him in her arms, a hand reached out and grabbed Mason Campbell’s collar.
The anticipated embrace suddenly distanced from him, Mason Campbell angrily glared at the man behind him. "Big jerk, put me down! I’m not letting you hold me, I want Aunt Aurelia to hold me!"
Mason Nightshade seemed to know what he wanted to say, curling his lips, "You’re not qualified for me to hold you. Sit in the car yourself, or I’ll have someone send you back to the Campbell Family."
Mason Nightshade tossed the little dumpling into the car, bent over and propped himself against the door frame, gesturing with his eyes towards Aurelia, and said, "That woman over there, she’s only for me to hold, you understand?"
Mason Campbell: "No way! Why should only you, this big jerk, get to hold her?"
Mason Nightshade’s smile widened even more, with an amused look, "Because that woman is my wife. If you want to hold someone, go find your own wife."
Gustavo Yates, in the driver’s seat, pretended he didn’t see or hear anything.
The boss is surprisingly in a good mood today, actually teasing a kid.
Sigh, kiddo, to think of being a match for our boss, you’d have to train for another twenty or thirty years.
Mason Campbell puffed up his cheeks defiantly, "I want to marry Aunt Aurelia!"
"I’ve already married her, how are you going to marry her? Do you want her to have two husbands? That’s illegal. Do you want your Aunt Aurelia to be arrested by the police?"
Mason Campbell’s face filled with shocked bewilderment.
Gustavo Yates sighed, suddenly feeling quite sympathetic for the little boy.
If Second Young Master Chen knew his son was being teased by the boss like this, his face would probably darken.
"So, stop snuggling into my wife’s arms at every opportunity." Mason Nightshade flicked his forehead, and seeing his lips pursed in a conflicted expression, Mason Nightshade felt quite pleased.
Raising a child isn’t bad.
This kid staying here might gradually help Aurelia overcome her battle scars related to children.
He didn’t care much about having children himself; though he didn’t want her old wounds to remain, festering painfully whenever touched.
...
"What did you say to him?" Aurelia glanced into the car, curiously asking Mason Nightshade.
The little dumpling was actually sitting obediently in the car, not sticking to her.
"I told him if he doesn’t behave, I’d throw him to the big tiger to eat." Mason Nightshade smirked.
The little dumpling couldn’t possibly believe such a crude lie.
Mason Nightshade must have said something to him.
But since Mason Nightshade didn’t say, Aurelia didn’t pursue further.
...
Back at the hotel where Aurelia was staying.
She bent over to pick up the little dumpling, who hesitated for a moment, just about to throw himself into Aurelia’s arms when a hand pulled him into another’s arms, "I’ll hold him."
Mason Nightshade grabbed the little dumpling’s collar with one hand. Though he said he was holding him, it was more like carrying an object.
Aurelia glanced sympathetically at the pitiable little dumpling and couldn’t bear it, "Let me hold him."
"You’ve been filming all day, with flying harnesses and martial arts scenes. Your arms must be sore. Where do you have the strength to hold this lad?" Mason Nightshade looked at Mason Campbell, "Do you want Aunt Aurelia to hold you, or should I hold you?"
Big jerk, this isn’t even holding! Don’t bully me just because I’m young and don’t understand! Mason Campbell hesitated, thinking of how tired Aurelia was from filming and that she’d still have to hold him... Despite feeling reluctant, he thought about letting Aunt Aurelia take a break, and his little hand silently pointed towards Mason Nightshade.
Mason Nightshade smiled widely.
