Chapter 85: Chaos in the South (5)
Akasha’s smile broadened with evident satisfaction.
"Well, I must say... this is rather ironic. Since things have turned out this way, I might as well get things started for you."
In truth, Akasha had no plans to be directly involved in the conquest of the Southern Continent.
At most, he intended to serve as an absolute last-resort measure if everything went wrong.
This was precisely why he allowed the Ancestor of the Academy of Revelations to absorb the powers of the Kings and Queens—it only made the execution of phase two all the smoother for him.
With those words, he rose into the air and flew off toward the conflict without another word.
Amber quickly soared after him, followed by the others one by one — their hearts pounding with nervousness, excitement, and newfound determination.
From a mountain balcony, Luna and Yume watched the group depart.
Yume tilted her head, her gentle, ethereal presence soft and curious.
"Do you think Amber is trying to seduce him?"
Luna let out a soft, melodic laugh, her pink and purple hair shimmering.
"Fufufu~ She’s going to have her hands full with that one," she said, affection and a hint of possessive amusement clear in her voice.

When Akasha and the others arrived at the Academy of Veils, they were greeted by utter chaos.
The once-peaceful academy had become a full-blown warzone.
The grand courtyards lay in ruins, ancient halls cracked and burning.
As clashing auras exploded across the sky in violent bursts of light and color. The air reeked of smoke, blood, scorched stone, and the metallic tang of spilled divinity.
The Blood Moon Pack’s werewolves tore through outer defenses in frenzied packs, their howls echoing like war drums.
Towering Ash Walking Giants smashed through buildings with earth-shaking force, hurling molten boulders.
Kingdom Black’s assassins and dark humans struck from the shadows, while Kingdom White’s disciplined apex humans and warriors pushed forward in organized formations.
The Academy of Veils forces fought desperately on the defensive, shielding students while trying to hold key positions.
Explosions rocked the ground, sending debris flying in every direction.
Harlan Steele’s sharp eyes narrowed as he took in the chaos.
"Why here?" he muttered, voice tight with confusion and rising anger.
For a long time, the Academy of Veils had sought to cement its rule by uniting the most powerful factions of the continent under its banner.
One might assume such a task would be simple, given that they were already recognized as rulers and backed by a civilization pit, teeming with formidable beings.
But much like every other Academy in this world, the scars of the War between Titans lingered.
That ancient conflict claimed countless ancestors and left others with wounds that still hadn’t fully healed.
Many of the strongest cultivators perished as well, leaving the Academies weakened.
In the aftermath, their fortunes depended heavily on their prior standing—some managed to stabilize, while others saw their status crumble with alarming speed.
Harlan then sighed faintly, "These factions have border disputes and old grudges, but attacking the Academy of Veils directly makes no sense. What are they hoping to gain by bringing their problems to our doorstep?"
One of the other Peak Masters growled beside him.
"Tsk... I don’t know, this all feels weird," he said. "Maybe it’s a coordinated assault. Feels like someone’s orchestrating this."
Akasha hovered high above the battlefield, making no immediate move to descend.
His smooth, pale skin glowed softly under the chaotic skies.
The elegant white-and-green horns atop his head shimmered as he slowly surveyed the destruction, neck-length white hair streaked with green swaying in the hot wind.
"Hmm..." he mused, not really caring why they brought their problems here. Still, he wasn’t about to make a move before checking out the scene.
He stayed calm with his mesmerizing clock-patterned eyes scanning every detail. Then, off in the distance, he saw them.
Jovian and Sunya sat together on a floating carpet, casually observing the war like spectators at a grand tournament.
Not far from them, Melissa and Jack sat on their own carpet, seemingly relaxed amid the surrounding madness.
Akasha arched a single elegant brow.
In that moment, he wasted no time in scanning them.

Seeing this, Akasha smiled with a mix of curiosity and caution.
’Oh brother...’ he thought, realizing the situation had just grown more complicated. ’So, we have a Transmigrator... and who knows what else I’m not seeing.’
He was certain that if Jovian were truly a transmigrator unlike himself, then there was undoubtedly more to him than his status revealed.
’And then... this Sunya.’ He thought while his eyes were narrowing slightly. ’This is entirely not so surprising... considering the Celestial Sun should have had allies... the same as the Dead Sun...’
A quiet, conceited chuckle escaped him internally.
’I must admit, though.... this is all quite fascinating.’
As cautious as Akasha was, there was an undeniable pride about him.
It had already been mentioned that he intended for his name to echo across creation, carried far and wide.
In this moment, his ambitious nature was exhilarated by the challenge before him, even as his cautious side immediately began calculating risks and opportunities.
’Well... I’ll let them choose their own paths,’ he thought at last, noting their favorability—though he knew such a thing was far from the ultimate measure.
Still, it was a good enough guideline to decide who should die and who might be granted more leeway.
’The moment it drops below forty... you’re dead.’
Yet he hoped they would stay focused on their own goals—leaving the world behind and seeking the Celestial Sun—because if they did, he knew he could find ways to use them.
He hovered there a moment longer, graceful and composed, letting the chaos unfold beneath him while his mind worked several steps ahead.
"All two hundred of you," he said with a smile. "Let this moment be a guide for how your conquest of the South should unfold. Nothing more than what you’re about to witness."
With that, he began a slow descent toward the center of the conflict, exuding a calm confidence and undeniable power.
Behind him, Amber and the others traded uneasy glances, their hearts still pounding from the earlier revelations and the overwhelming devastation before them.
