Chapter 63: The Beginning of Phase One
Even after Akasha’s words, Harlan couldn’t simply pull himself from the enigma seated in front of him.
’In just... one year, he’s changed... completely,’
Harlan thought, his sharp eyes studying the man before him.
It wasn’t only the more pronounced White Elven traits — the elegant, pointed ears and ethereal beauty that softened the previous draconic and vampiric ferocity.
It was the feeling Akasha gave off.
A presence that was deeper, heavier, and far more difficult to read.
’How can a being possess three entirely different races?’
Not only that, but he had also lived long enough to recognize the graceful, almost otherworldly air an Elf possessed. Akasha now carried that... and more.
Akasha’s voice cut through the silence, calm but firm.
"Focus, Headmaster."
Harlan blinked once, then smiled wryly, shaking his head as he finally composed himself.
He gave a respectful nod.
"Forgive me. It’s just... you’ve changed more than I expected in such a short time."
He paused, then asked in a measured tone.
"Excuse me if I’m overstepping boundaries here... But what took so long for you to give the first word of business?"
Akasha leaned back slightly, his expression unreadable.
"Well, is there really a rush?" he asked. "I mean, I know about the whole ninety-year deadline and all, but it’s only been a single year, you know?"
Harlan nodded. "Indeed, only a year has passed, Lord Dream."
He spoke steadily, glancing again at Akasha. "I’m not sure if you’re too young or if your elders never told you, but a year in this day and age can feel like centuries."
While usually a year may feel like a mere day’s passage to beings who were virtually immortal since being born... but this was not any normal time.
Not at all.
"Well, is there something I’m missing?" Akasha asked, raising a brow.
"Lord Dream... we are in the Golden Age, also known as the most chaotic era."
Akasha gave Harlan a long look, realizing this was something he truly didn’t know. As mentioned before, he had most of the basic information about Kalpa thanks to Luna.
But what no one in this world knew was that the Era of Khaos wasn’t just for Kalpa—
It was for all of Pantheos.
’Well, since Luna did say those novels were examples... I’m sure this means.... this is an Era where bullshit happens like no other.’
He thought to himself and seeing that he didn’t comment Harlan went ahead to inform him on recent events.
"Over the past year... the Kings and Queens of every continent were captured by the Academy of Revelation during their summit. Entire ruling structures collapsed overnight. Armies, guards, and royal courts all fell without resistance."
He paused, letting the weight of the statement settle.
"Except for two kingdoms—the Northern Loria Kingdom and the Eastern Blackwood Kingdom. Those two have been rather quiet as of late."
Akasha listened intently as he went on about the battle in the Northern Continent, a conflict that had raged for an entire year.
Then Harlan spoke of the Eastern Continent and the rise of an exiled titan, and with that, the picture became clear—every one of the four other continents was stirring with activity.
The Southern Continent, however, had yet to make any move, not even striking back at the Academy of Revelations.
Akasha remained silent, quietly making mental notes.
His eyes narrowed slightly at the mention the year-long clash.
’A fight that lasted nearly a year...’ he mused, genuinely intrigued.
He’d heard plenty of tales about battles stretching on for seven days and nights, but an entire year was on another level.
’Tsk, I’d be damned if I fought someone for that long...’ he thought, before opening his mouth to speak again.
But before he could, Harlan continued, his tone carrying a hint of disbelief.
"And the world.... has learned that you were the one who destroyed the Southern Nova Dragon Clan in a single night."
Akasha’s lips curved into an intrigued smile.
He leaned forward slightly, resting his arms on the table.
"Oh yeah? What are they saying?"
Harlan exhaled slowly.
"There’s an ongoing debate among the younger generation about who stands at the peak — Lord Dream, the Fatebreaker, or the Eternal Hour Goddess.
Your name carries both fear and fascination. Some believe you’re the strongest. Others think the Fatebreaker or the Goddess surpass you. Though... No one is certain."
Akasha gave a simple nod, his expression calm, though his thoughts were already turning.
’With all this so-called Golden Age nonsense going on... should I end them before they have the chance to grow into power?’ he wondered... as his tone was inwardly detached from the ongoing debate.
Still, there was some satisfaction in knowing the world had received the message he’d left behind — after all, he wanted the name Lord Dream to spread far and wide.
Yet, given the nature of these three beings, and with even Krax appearing more capable than most, he wouldn’t hesitate to cut the root before it could sprout if it meant avoiding trouble later.
He acknowledged the discussion with a casual shrug.
"I have to admit, it’s interesting news. In just a single year, so much has happened without me," he remarked, though he felt no sense of being left out.
In truth, it felt like perfect timing.
"Still, the actions of others will soon lose all meaning."
His gaze fixed firmly on Harlan, his voice carrying an unmistakable authority.
"Gather two hundred members of the Academy — anyone you trust, regardless of rank. Instructors, disciples, even Peak Masters if need be. Have them in the Grand Chambers within minutes."
And with that, the Dream ended, and Akasha found himself once again in his tree house.
----
Akasha rose from his seated position with a calm and deliberate grace.
His expression carried purpose, not urgency, and his voice flowed with quiet authority as he spoke.
"Melvin, come with me."
The boy followed without hesitation, still shaken from earlier but unwilling to fall behind.
Luna and Yume walked beside Akasha, their steps synchronized with his, forming a trio that radiated a serene yet overwhelming presence.
When they stepped out into the open air of the peak, the vast expanse of Dreamer’s Peak stretched before them, and Akasha extended his Divine Sense over the massive Golden Apple Tree.
"Twenty-five thousand, huh?"
Akasha nodded to himself, acknowledging the abundance with a quiet satisfaction, then selected two hundred of the ripest apples with a single thought, storing them away effortlessly.
Melvin walked behind him, his steps small and uncertain, his voice finally breaking the silence.
"Lord Dream... what’s going on?"
Akasha glanced back at him, his tone casual as ever.
"Not much... We’re just going on a little business trip."
He offered no further explanation.
Instead, he activated his Space Affinity, and in one fluid motion, the world folded around them.
Luna, Yume, Melvin, and the stored apples were pulled through space itself, reappearing at the very edge of the Divine Domain—right where Akasha’s lands met the rest of the Southern Continent.
The moment they arrived; Akasha activated another innate power.
[Dream Nexus (God)]
HUMMMM!!!!
In that moment, a shimmering purple portal tore open before them, its surface rippling like liquid light.
It connected directly to the Main Grounds of the Academy of Veils—the same place leading to where Akasha had once confronted the Peak Masters and Harlan.
They stepped through.
The Grand Chambers were already filled.
Harlan stood at the forefront, waiting with the composed intensity of a man who understood the gravity of the moment.
Behind him stood all the Peak Masters (excluding Liliana) and exactly one hundred ninety‑five carefully chosen members.
With Tyron and Amber standing at front and center, their presences unmistakable.
Harlan’s sharp eyes immediately landed on Melvin.
"Lord Dream... is he someone from your faction?"
Akasha answered simply.
"This is Melvin, my first disciple." He then gestured towards the others. "Melvin, these are the Peak Masters of the Academy of Veils and the Headmaster, Harlan Steele."
"L-Lord Dream... a-are you referring to the Southern Continent Academy?!" Melvin asked, completely ignoring the Academy of Veils personnel.
It wasn’t really his fault—he had never left the Eastern Continent before. The distance between continents was simply too great for someone of his strength to cross.
Akasha only nodded as he turned back to look over the group of disciples.
Tyron’s expression tightened the moment he saw Akasha.
His sharp eyes narrowed, displeasure flickering openly across his face. He muttered under his breath, loud enough for those nearby to hear.
"So... this is the infamous Lord Dream..."
