Chapter 5: The God Star of Lucid Dreams
[A/N: This information coming up only covers the key basics about the power system but you can check the aux if anything seems unclear.]
----
Given how vast the verse of Pantheos was—and the higher realms beyond it—Luna kept her explanation of the power system as brief as possible.
She knew he wasn’t a fan of long-winded talk, so she simply shared her knowledge directly.
Now, Akasha sat with his eyes closed, going over everything she’d conveyed, which was essentially that every being in Pantheos awakened at Tier One the moment they took their first breath.
At that instant, they would connect with their Star, whether a God Star or a Constellation Star.
These Stars housed entities whose sole purpose was to guide the cultivator along their path to power—embodiments of that path, vast repositories of knowledge they would one day merge with upon reaching Godhood
Akasha nodded, taking it all in as he sat cross-legged in the vibrant field, letting the beauty of the seven suns and the riot of colorful flowers wash over him.
Beyond the details about the stars, what truly held his attention was the path of progression—something entirely dictated by the Star one possessed.
Advancing through the ranks could be as effortless as drifting off to sleep, or as grueling as never tasting defeat in battle.
With that thought lingering in his mind, he drew the Anomalous Elixir from his inventory. Since his Star was nowhere to be found, he decided to handle everything within his power in this moment.
’The elixir to become an Anomaly, huh?’ Akasha thought, shifting his focus to the vial in his hands.
The liquid swirled with shifting colors that had no name—deep void black bleeding into liquid light, with faint threads of crimson and white entangled like veins.
At times it looked thick and heavy, at others almost gaseous, as if it couldn’t decide what form it wanted to take.
"Before you start with that... I might as well give you the last bit of information about this world."
Luna said, sending the knowledge directly into his mind.
As he requested, Kalpa was a fairly strong world, its strength determined by its age—an 83-Era-old realm inhabited by countless races.
Vast beyond measure, it spanned light-years and was divided into five massive continents—Northern, Eastern, Western, Southern, and Central.
Each had its own Academy, and they competed fiercely for resources and the chance to join an even greater Academy beyond this world.
Akasha sifted through the flood of information, focusing only on what mattered for now.
"So, each continent has its own Academy, and they are trying to conquer the most land... resulting in competition with one another?"
"Yeah, that’s pretty much it," Luna replied with a nod.
Though he’d summed it up, he knew there was more to it—each Academy had its own values and beliefs that guided their actions.
What he didn’t know was how long this competition had been running or when it would finally end.
Setting those thoughts aside, Akasha uncorked the vial and drank the strange elixir in one smooth motion.
HUMMMMMM!!!!
The moment the liquid touched his tongue, a surge of pure divinity exploded through his veins.
His body seized as a cocoon of radiant golden-white light erupted around him, wrapping him in shimmering layers of divine energy.
The cocoon pulsed with a deep, resonant hum that vibrated through the field, sending ripples of light across the flowers and grass.
High above, the seven suns dimmed for a moment as the sky itself shifted.
And... far in the distance, a new star slowly materialized—starting as a faint spark before growing brighter, its light unlike any other celestial body.
Luna watched in silence, her expression unreadable as the cocoon continued to glow with increasing intensity.
"So... there was a delay in him connecting with a Star?" Luna wondered aloud. "Or is something else going on here?"
She didn’t know the answer, but she didn’t hesitate.
HUMMMM!!!!
With a graceful wave of her hands, a wave of pinkish-purple divinity surged forth from her palms, rushing outward to completely envelop and conceal Akasha’s glowing cocoon.
The divine energy wrapped around it like a protective veil, pulsing gently as it hid him from the outside world.
----
Inside the cocoon, Akasha found himself standing in a space filled with soft, warm golden light.
Before him floated a large red panel, its surface glowing with sharp, authoritative text.
[Create Your God/Constellation Star]
The words were simple, yet they carried an undeniable weight, as if the panel itself was waiting for his choice.
Once again, Akasha had no way of knowing what sort of thing that would set him apart from others in a world like this.
But seeing the panel, he could only smile.
"I mean, if this is not anomalous then I don’t know what is."
He knew it was highly unlikely for anyone else to be given the choice to simply create their own custom Star. Even if someone else had been granted such a thing, he was certain there were not many of them at all.
He reached out and clicked on the panel.
To his surprise, the interface was straightforward, offering no clues about what came with a Star or what exactly he’d be customizing.
Only one question appeared before him:
[How do you envision yourself?]
Seeing this question, instantly Akasha drifted back to his lonely days on Earth—the fields where he lost himself in daydreams, the years of neglect that shaped him.
In this new life, he wanted to be strong—so strong that beings would have no choice but to notice him.
Yet a large part of him still didn’t care what others thought.
Above all else, he understood just how unpredictable and deceptive the realm of fantasy could be.
With that thought lingering in his mind, he longed for power that could be obtained effortlessly, with little more than the simplest or most trivial of actions.
Yet, what Akasha didn’t realize was that the very instant he allowed a single vision to take shape in his thoughts, the act of creation would already be set into motion.
------
HUMMMMM!!!!
Outside, the newly formed star in the sky suddenly turned a deep, regal purple. It pulsed once, then washed down a rich hue of divinity onto the concealed area.
The air grew heavy as a deep, rolling hum drifted over the field like the growl of something ancient awakening.
The seven suns softened their glow in reverence as the purple star spilled heavy, radiant waves—not mere light, but a force steeped in untold ages.
Luna stood frozen, awe and shock playing across her features.
For the first time in forever, she felt truly small.
As the sheer density of the descending divinity pressed against her skin like the gaze of something beyond comprehension.
"Is this what happens... when the son of someone so powerful truly awaken?" She muttered as she herself knew enough about awakenings to know that such phenomena were usual.
However, in this moment it still felt so wrong that she couldn’t quite place her finger on it.
The questions echoed in her mind as she took an unconscious step back, one hand rising slightly as if to shield herself from the overwhelming presence.
CRACKKK!!!!
HUMMMM!!!!!!
The pinkish-purple veil she had cast trembled violently under the star’s radiance, cracks of golden light spiderwebbing across its surface.
In that moment, she knew—despite how ordinary the phenomenon seemed—it was anything but.
This was something that defied the natural order of Pantheos, something that made even the decrees of this universe pause and take notice.
The purple light intensified until it became blinding.
For several long, breathless moments, the entire field was bathed in a regal, overwhelming glow.
Gradually, the light began to fade, the deep purple hue retreating like a tide slipping back into the sky.
When the last trace of radiance disappeared, the cocoon was no more.
Akasha hovered in the open air above the vibrant field.
His crimson and white hair drifted gently in the wind, framing pointed ears that peeked through the strands.
Faint obsidian scales traced along his collarbones and forearms, glinting under the light of the seven suns and the newly formed purple star above.
His eyes — ever-shifting galaxies — held a quiet, intriguing smile as he gazed forward.
Before him floated a translucent status screen, its text sharp and commanding against the sky.
