Chapter 38: The State of World Affairs (3)
"We will still move forward with... the subjugation of the major clans."
With the ninety-year deadline fast approaching, the Dean of the Academy of Revelations was determined to bring all the Kings and Queens under his banner.
Doing so wouldn’t just strengthen the Academy’s lower ranks but would also grant him at least eight other beings with power equal to or just shy of his own Tier 15 might.
The Elders traded knowing looks, their faces a blend of grim puzzlement and sharp focus.
One grizzled Elder leaned in, his scarred jaw set.
"Preparations for their meeting at Summit’s Peak are underway. The Origin Ranked sky-trapping formation will trigger ten minutes after they arrive."
A broad-shouldered, battle-worn Elder gave a firm nod.
"Our people are already taking positions around the major clans. Once the Kings and Queens are caught, we move."
Hearing that, the Dean smiled, the expression calm and satisfied as he changed the subject.
"Good... and it’s time you all learned the other little piece I’ve been keeping from you
He knew he hadn’t told them the full story about Kaleb and Kristen until ten years before the mission, but this wasn’t so bad—not really.
"An interesting thing, indeed," he said.
HUMMMM!
With a wave of his hand, another projection appeared, revealing a seemingly ordinary human in robes, with long black hair and striking red eyes.
Seeing him, they all raised their brows in recognition.
One of the Elders spoke out; voice laced with surprise.
"Isn’t he one of the newest members of the Academy, Krax Von?"
One onlooker remarked with an impressed tone, "He’s incredibly talented for his age. Reaching Tier 15 at just 28 is unbelievable. He’s stronger than most of us, second only to the Dean himself."
The Dean let out a low, satisfied chuckle.
"That’s exactly how he’s managed to hide in plain sight."
He laughed quietly, offering thanks to the Gods for granting him another key player to secure victory.
Then, in a steady and deliberate voice, he revealed,
"Krax Von is actually Krax Von’El... of the Von’El Titan Clan, exiled 50,000 years ago."
The revelation plunged the room into a heavy, stunned silence.
Much like Kristen before him, when Krax returned to the world of Kalpa just five years ago, he carried a Primordial concealment artifact—the last possession of the once-mighty Von’El Clan.
Exiled from not only Kalpa but, more importantly, their homelands, the clan had lost countless artifacts, skills, and much of what made them so formidable.
Krax was noticed by the Dean the instant he stepped into the Academy, even before his concealment kicked in—and from that moment, he had no idea he was already being drawn into dangerous waters.
----
Away from the Academy of Revelations, Krax flew through a rugged mountain biome, the wind whipping past his face as he soared above deep canyons and jagged peaks.
The land below was wild and untamed — towering cliffs of gray stone carved from millennia of wind and water, with thick forests of dark evergreens clinging to the slopes.
Rivers of clear, rushing water carved through the valleys, their sound a constant, distant roar far below.
The air was crisp and cold, as he scanned the terrain with sharp, calculating eyes.
"The higher-ups of Kalpa must have long known the location of our homeland..." He muttered to himself as he flew, voice low and filled with ambition.
"However, I’m sure they’ve been seething... knowing they can’t enter no matter what they do."
He smiled, fully aware that with the Titans exiled, there was no possible way to enter their main homelands.
The sacred lands lay on the Western Continent and were reserved exclusively for pure-blooded Titans—not just those with Titan blood or things formed through divinity creation.
An intricate formation stood guard, capable of judging one down to the very origins of their bloodline, tracing the root of their Titan heritage without flaw.
"All of this is perfect for my plan... while restoring the Von’El to their former glory, my foolish brothers and Father must also be brought down," he thought with cold resolve.
Krax’s ambitions stretched far beyond anything Kalpa could conceive, not simply because he was one of the rare beings who had left the world and traveled through the vastness of space....
But also, because of his system and the knowledge of the Titan Gods had sparked something greater in him.
His vision now reached across the cosmos, determined to etch the name of his clan into the stars themselves.
----
After a while, he reached a portion of the mountains that opened into a deep, shadowed canyon.
Without hesitation, he dove downward, the wind howling in his ears as the steep rock walls rushed past him.
The temperature dropped sharply as he descended, the air turning cooler and damper until he reached the bottom.
"Ah... there’s really no place like home," he muttered, a faint sense of nostalgia creeping in.
[Host, you weren’t even born here...] his system cut in, shattering the moment.
His lip twitched as he continued to descend.
The homeland of his clan lay before him — a vast, hidden valley nestled deep within the canyon, shielded from the outside world by towering cliffs and ancient wards.
Massive, ancient structures of dark stone and gleaming crystal stood half-buried in the earth, their surfaces etched with the proud symbols of the Titan race.
The ground was covered in a soft, mossy carpet, with faint glowing veins of energy running through the stone like the remnants of a once-mighty civilization.
The moment he landed, his system again spoke in a clear, mechanical voice inside his mind.
[Host, the next thing is to recover the Von’El Shard of Essence.]
Hearing this, Krax grumbled, impatience clear in his voice.
"Just how long until I become a Titan God? I’ve had this system for twelve years and still..."
During his time with the Titan God system, he had learned much.
Before becoming a God Emperor, he believed that once one became a True God, then they would in turn be known as a Titan God.
But he had been completely wrong.
With the system, he had essentially had a gate way to knowledge and power.
By granting someone with a Greater Ranked Star, like himself with powers at the Origin level and even allowing his bloodline to ascend to that same level....
And all of it was achieved through completing tasks and earning rewards.
Yet, he eventually learned that becoming a Titan God had nothing to do with power rank. It was entirely about the level of one’s bloodline—because a Titan God was the god of the entire Titan race.
And such a thing offered far more than just a simple boost in battle power.
At his words, the system replied in its usual calm, emotionless tone.
[The road to becoming a Titan God... or a racial God of any kind... is long and arduous.] it said, pausing briefly as if in thought.
[Only if you can achieve your main goal of restoring your clan’s glory and building a strong enough force on Kalpa before the current 90-year deadline... only then would you have a chance to ascend to a Titan God.]
Krax’s eyes narrowed, a cold, determined fire burning in them as he stared at the ruins of his ancestors’ homeland.
He nodded slowly, voice low and resolute.
"Well... let’s get this Shard of Essence."
He walked forward into the homeland, his boots crunching softly against the moss-covered stone as he stepped deeper into the hidden valley.
As he entered, two figures suddenly appeared from concealment, stepping out from behind a massive, half-buried crystal pillar.
Their robes bore the distinct emblems of the Academy of Revelations — dark fabric embroidered with glowing runes of an open eye.
They shared a quick, tense glance at each other, their expressions sharp and alert.
One of them, a lean man with sharp features, spoke in a hurried whisper.
"Hurry after him. This place is already starting to close."
