Chapter 221: 221: Get Jealous

Sunnie was awakened the next morning by the sound of the system beeping right before her. Slowly opening her eyes, she caught sight of the blue tab hovering right before her face.

[Ding!]

[Congratulations Host! You’ve successfully gotten pregnant by the fox husband!]

[Host, it’s twins: two cute cubs on the way!]

[Rewards available!]

[+10,000 heart coins!]

[Extra rewards unlocked!]

[Weaponry available for Host at System store for free.]

Sunnie stared at the rewards. For a while, she couldn’t help but wonder why the system was handing her weaponry. But she guessed she needed it for protection.

But before that, Sunnie couldn’t help but think about the cubs she was bearing. It was twins—for the first time, she was carrying twins.

She didn’t know how to feel about it and didn’t know what to expect. So she didn’t say much but stared at the system.

Eris, who was lying beside Sunnie, moved as Sunnie turned to her side. It was at that moment she got a clearer view of where she was. She was still lying on the soft animal skin-clothed bed. There was also animal skin over her for warmth. Beside her was Eris, sleeping in the same bed and sharing the same sheet.

Sunnie could tell that they were both still naked under the sheet. She could see the top of his chest while he slept, and she could also feel the heat of his body over her.

Sunnie stared at him for a while as he slept. She couldn’t help but take in his face—that gorgeous face. It was a lethal face card, and she couldn’t believe it was hers to keep. Especially after last night, when they had gone wild and made twins.

Sunnie stared at that face for a while as she stretched out her fingers, slowly reaching to run them through his hair and face.

But he suddenly took her hand in his with a smile. "You’ve been staring at me for a while now." He opened his eyes to stare at her. "Would you want a second round?"

Sunnie paused, staring at him. She could feel her cheeks flush as she managed to say, "You’ve been awake for that long?"

He scoffed. "Well, not really. Just woke up and felt your eyes on me." He smiled as he ran his fingers through his hair. Eris took his time admiring her white hair and petite face, running his fingers through her chin and down her neck and collarbones.

He smiled at her. "I wouldn’t really mind a second round if you’re up for it."

Sunnie scoffed as she said, "Well, you’ll have to rest. We already had three rounds last night, yet you’re not tired yet?"

Eris smiled. "I’m never going to be tired when it’s you. Besides, it was only three. We could have had two more to complete it—five." He smiled.

Sunnie shook her head as she stared up into the rocky ceiling. "Shameless. That man between your legs never gets tired, or what?"

Eris smiled. "No, it never does. Want to check it out again?"

Sunnie smiled. "Shameless."

The two of them smiled as they lay there naked under the sheets, staring up at the ceiling. Eris brought his arms around Sunnie’s neck for her to use as a pillow while they quietly lay there for a while.

Sunnie couldn’t help but think about Eris in those quiet moments, recalling all that had happened the previous day. Even though Eris had taken down those fox spies and sent them away casually while pretending to be fine, Sunnie could tell that it must have triggered something in him—something traumatic.

"How are you doing?" she casually asked.

He smiled. "And why are you asking that? If I say I’m not fine, would you let us have another round?" He teased as Sunnie elbowed him. "Ouch," he smiled.

"I’m just worried about you. After what happened yesterday night, I feel you might have been affected."

He was quiet as they stared into the ceiling for a while. Eris smiled with a sigh as he said, "Yeah... you’re right. I actually was affected... but there’s nothing that can be done about it, is there?"

Sunnie stared at him as he continued, a smile lingering on his lips.

"I can’t remember the last time I saw anyone from my tribe. And every time I think about them, it’s always through the same nightmare." He smiled. "Beaten up, chased down, humiliated..." He smiled. "Those were all I had to go through in their hands at a young age."

"My family were killed by them in the process. My parents and two sisters—they were killed for not rejecting me and trying to hide me and send me off. I watched them die." He scoffed. "So when I saw them, I recalled everything. Every single detail... and it felt like a fresh wound again."

As he spoke, Sunnie stared at him. Even though he was smiling while speaking, she could read the pain in that voice. And she couldn’t help but feel for him.

"... But I guess there’s nothing I can do again, is there? It’s already been done, and now I guess I should be free from them and forget about them to move on." He sighed. "Maybe..."

"Sorry..." Sunnie said as he stared at her, surprised.

"And what are you sorry for?"

Sunnie hesitated with a sigh. "It was all a sensitive plan for you to get back at those who hurt you. But I got all jealous and didn’t consider that..." She bit her lower lip. "I feel terrible about that... whiny and all."

But Eris smiled as he leaned closer to her and stole a quick kiss from her lips. Sunnie stared at him in shock. "What was that...?"

He smiled while stroking her hair with his hand gently, soothing her tall ears that popped up in curiosity. "That only means that you love me too. And that’s all that matters. So next time, don’t forget to get jealous about me, okay?"
