Chapter 1482: Chapter 210 - The Land Of Lust (6)
The fight between Mr. Faust and Asmodeus was still raging without any sign of slowing down.
At this point, I had completely lost track of how long they had been fighting. It felt like the battle had been going on forever, yet somehow neither of them looked any closer to stopping.
What made it even harder to comprehend was how the fight kept escalating.
Every time I thought they had finally reached the limit of what was possible, the two of them would immediately prove me wrong and push things even further. The entire scene unfolding before my eyes felt less like a real battle and more like something pulled straight out of a legend.
Honestly, I wasn’t sure whether I felt more amazed or terrified.
Their swords crashed into each other once again, and another violent shockwave exploded outward from the impact.
The collision alone was enough to make my entire body tense.
A powerful gust of wind swept across the battlefield, carrying dirt, loose stones, and debris along with it. The force reached all the way to where I was standing, and even from this distance, I could still feel the pressure slamming into me.
Every clash felt absurdly powerful.
It genuinely seemed as though each strike carried enough force to wipe out an entire army.
My legs were already starting to ache from how hard I was forcing myself to remain upright.
The only reason I wasn’t getting thrown around by the shockwaves was because I was planting my feet firmly into the ground and putting all my weight behind them.
Meanwhile, Mr. Faust continued moving through the battlefield in a way that barely seemed real.
Whenever I tried focusing on him, his figure would blur before disappearing from sight completely. Then, almost instantly, he would appear somewhere else.
Trying to keep track of him had become an impossible task.
Every time I thought I had figured out where he was, he had already moved again.
His speed was ridiculous to the point where my eyes simply couldn’t process it properly anymore.
The frightening part was that Asmodeus wasn’t any easier to follow.
She matched him perfectly.
Despite wielding an enormous broadsword and possessing a much larger frame, she moved with terrifying speed. Every attack she launched cut through the air with enough force to make my stomach tighten.
The way they fought had gone so far beyond anything I understood that it felt pointless trying to compare them to ordinary people.
At one point, they exchanged attacks so quickly that all I could see were flashes of light scattered throughout the battlefield.
Bright sparks erupted whenever their weapons met.
The movements connecting those clashes had become completely invisible to me.
It honestly felt less like watching two fighters and more like watching two natural disasters collide over and over again.
The pressure hanging in the air continued to rise.
Every breath felt heavier than the one before it.
"Kuh...!"
Asmodeus suddenly slid backward across the battlefield.
The ground cracked beneath her feet as she dug in and forced herself to stop.
"You... You... how dare you...!?"
Her voice echoed across the area, carrying enough rage to make even me flinch.
The look on her face was genuinely frightening.
Her eyes burned with fury, and every muscle in her body looked tense enough to snap.
For a brief moment, I honestly wondered whether she was angry enough to tear apart the entire battlefield with her bare hands.
Then her wings started moving.
The massive black wings extending from her back slowly spread outward before beginning to wrap around her body.
I couldn’t help staring.
The wings layered themselves over her skin one after another, almost as if they had a will of their own.
The process reminded me of armor being assembled piece by piece.
As the transformation continued, more and more of her body became covered.
Eventually, the wings no longer looked like wings at all.
Instead, they resembled a suit of dark armor crafted entirely from them.
The change made her look significantly more dangerous.
Not that she had looked harmless before.
"I’ll ask again," Mr. Faust said.
His voice remained calm and steady.
Strangely enough, that calmness made the situation feel even more serious.
"Where is my sister?"
This was the first time I had ever heard Mr. Faust mention anything about having family.
Thinking back on everything that had happened earlier, it wasn’t difficult to connect the dots.
Whatever had happened to her, Asmodeus clearly knew something about it.
That realization helped me understand something else.
Mr. Faust was furious.
The difference was that he wasn’t expressing it the same way Asmodeus was. He wasn’t shouting. He wasn’t raging. He wasn’t losing control of himself.
If anything, he seemed even calmer than before. For some reason, that made his anger feel much more intimidating. It felt like the kind of anger that had already moved past emotional outbursts and settled into something far more dangerous.
"You think I’d answer a question from someone like you?" Asmodeus snapped back.
By now, her transformation appeared complete.
Dark skin covered almost every part of her body.
She barely resembled the same person anymore.
Black wings stretched behind her while the armor wrapped around the rest of her figure.
Everything about her appearance radiated danger.
"I am going to kill you!" she shouted. "Then you won’t be asking questions anymore."
The moment those words left her mouth, she launched herself forward.
A trail of purple energy followed behind her.
The glowing aura stretched through the air like a comet tail as she accelerated toward Mr. Faust.
The distance separating them vanished almost instantly.
One moment she stood dozens of meters away.
The next moment she was already within striking range.
"Die!"
Her broadsword was already moving.
Purple mana covered the blade completely.
The energy wrapped around the weapon before extending outward as she swung, creating a massive arc of destructive force.
Even watching the attack made my heart skip a beat.
For the first time since the battle had begun, Mr. Faust appeared slightly late in responding.
The delay was incredibly small.
Even so, it was noticeable.
A barrier instantly appeared in front of him.
The defensive spell intercepted the incoming strike before the blade could reach him directly.
The protection lasted for less than a second.
Cracks immediately spread across its surface.
Then the entire barrier shattered apart.
Fragments of broken mana scattered through the air.
Thankfully, Mr. Faust had already moved.
By the time the barrier fully broke apart, he was standing dozens of meters away from her position.
"Well, it seems this won’t be easy..." he said.
Then his sword began to change.
Dark mana started gathering around the blade.
The black energy wrapped itself around the weapon until it looked as though darkness itself had taken physical form.
The amount of power radiating from it was unbelievable.
Even from where I stood, I could feel it pressing against my skin.
The air around him trembled.
The ground beneath him shook.
Then he vanished.
One moment he was standing still.
The next moment he was directly in front of Asmodeus.
She reacted immediately.
Despite wielding such a massive weapon, she pulled the sword back with astonishing speed before swinging again without hesitation.
The movement looked completely impossible.
Their blades collided once more.
The battlefield exploded.
A deafening roar erupted from the point of impact.
The shockwave expanded outward like a tidal wave.
The ground shook violently beneath my feet.
Dust filled the air in every direction.
Pressure crashed into everything around us.
For one terrifying moment, I genuinely believed I was about to die.
My body locked up completely.
I squeezed my eyes shut and braced for the impact.
My heart hammered wildly inside my chest.
I waited for the explosion to reach me.
I waited for the pain.
I waited for something to happen.
Several seconds passed.
Then several more.
Strangely enough, nothing happened.
Confused, I slowly opened my eyes.
A transparent barrier surrounded both me and the carriage.
The protective shield stood firmly between us and the destruction raging outside, blocking the explosion completely.
My knees nearly gave out from relief.
I hadn’t even realized how tense my body had become until that moment.
After the explosion finally settled, I looked back toward the battlefield.
To my disbelief... one of them was on the ground now.
