Chapter 1481: Chapter 210 - The Land Of Lust (5)

"Y-You are...? Another piece of that Lilith?!"

Her eyes widened the moment those words left her mouth.

The fear on her face wasn’t subtle at all. It was the kind of fear that looked deeply rooted, something that had been buried inside her for a very long time and was suddenly dragged back to the surface. For someone who had supposedly been involved in killing Lilith, her reaction felt almost strange. You would think someone responsible for bringing down such a terrifying existence would feel pride, confidence, or maybe even hatred whenever that name came up.

Instead, she looked scared.

Genuinely scared.

It wasn’t just fear either. It almost looked like panic.

"As Satania suspected..." she muttered, taking a step back as her expression became increasingly unstable. "Lilith is coming back."

Her eyes shook slightly.

"She was right. She was absolutely right to think that we needed to strengthen our military power because something like this would happen again."

Her voice grew louder with every word.

"But why...? Why now of all times? Why are they still coming back?! Why does this keep happening?!"

The more she spoke, the more she looked like she was losing herself in her own thoughts.

It felt less like she was talking to me and more like she was arguing with herself.

At this rate, she was probably going to continue spiraling until she completely forgot I was standing right in front of her.

Honestly, I wasn’t interested in watching that happen.

So I cut her off.

"Why don’t you tell me what happened to Elise?"

My voice came out colder than I expected.

"If you’re really going to tell me she’s safe and bring her back to me, then I might reconsider letting you live."

The moment I said that, her attention snapped back toward me.

For a brief second, our eyes met.

Then a sneer appeared on her face.

"You think you can make me tell you something?"

She laughed.

Although it wasn’t a particularly pleasant laugh.

"Even if you might be some kind of reincarnation or fragment connected to Lilith, do you honestly think I’d willingly tell you anything?"

Her expression became increasingly arrogant.

"You’re still nothing."

The confidence in her voice was almost irritating.

"And considering the fact that you’re nowhere near as powerful as Lilith was, do you really think you can defeat me?"

She looked exactly the same as before.

Arrogant.

Proud.

Condescending.

As if she couldn’t even imagine the possibility of losing.

Normally, maybe I would’ve responded.

Maybe I would’ve mocked her.

Maybe I would’ve tried getting information out of her another way.

But right now, I wasn’t really in the mood for any of that.

Hatred was filling my head.

Every thought I had kept circling back to the same thing.

Elise.

The uncertainty.

The anger.

The frustration.

And the growing madness that came with not knowing.

At this point, only one thought remained.

Kill her.

"Then I hope you won’t regret your choice."

The moment I finished speaking, I moved.

My body exploded forward.

The distance between us vanished almost instantly.

One moment I was standing in front of her.

The next moment, I had already appeared behind her.

My speed was so ridiculous that before she could even turn her head to track my movement, Ayuru had already cut through the space between us.

The blade shot forward with enough force to split her body apart.

At the same time, the angle of my attack was aimed directly toward her neck.

I intended to kill her in a single strike.

Unfortunately for me, she reacted.

A barrier suddenly appeared.

The defensive wall materialized just in time to intercept Ayuru.

It didn’t last very long.

The blade tore through it almost immediately.

The barrier split apart like butter being sliced by a hot knife.

Even so, it served its purpose.

For a tiny fraction of a second, Ayuru’s momentum slowed.

The delay was barely noticeable.

Most people probably wouldn’t have even realized it happened.

But at our level, a fraction of a second might as well have been an eternity.

Using that opening, she escaped.

The moment she created distance between us, I immediately prepared to chase after her.

Then my instincts screamed at me.

Something was coming.

Fast.

Very fast.

Her broadsword was already swinging toward me.

The weapon was absurdly large.

Calling it a sword almost felt inaccurate.

The thing looked like it could split a mountain apart if enough force was put behind it.

By the time I noticed the attack, the blade was already halfway through its swing.

I bent my body backward immediately.

Almost ninety degrees.

The massive sword barely missed my face.

I could feel the pressure from the swing passing above me.

Without wasting a second, I shifted my weight and launched myself into a backflip.

My legs shot upward.

I aimed a kick directly beneath her chin.

She reacted quickly and dodged.

Still, she couldn’t completely escape.

Before she could create enough distance, I twisted my body and swung Ayuru toward her.

The blade sliced across her skin.

"Kuh...!"

Her expression immediately twisted.

"How dare you damage my beautiful skin?!"

The glare she sent toward me looked murderous.

Honestly, if looks could kill, I probably would’ve exploded on the spot.

Unfortunately for her, I wasn’t exactly feeling friendly either.

I stared right back at her.

The hostility between us was obvious.

Neither of us looked away.

Neither of us intended to back down.

The next moment, we moved again.

Both of us dashed forward at the same time.

The battlefield blurred around us.

The distance separating us disappeared in an instant.

Then our weapons collided.

Ayuru slammed directly against her broadsword.

The impact created an explosive shockwave.

The sound alone was enough to make the surrounding air tremble.

Neither weapon gave way.

Neither fighter retreated.

For a brief moment, it felt like two disasters had collided head-on.

The force generated from our clash erupted outward in every direction.

The shockwave tore across the battlefield like a storm.

Foriel’s POV

The blast of wind hit me immediately.

My hair was thrown all over the place as the shockwave swept across the area.

The force generated from their clash was so overwhelming that I immediately grabbed onto the carriage to keep it grounded.

If I hadn’t done that, I was honestly convinced the entire carriage would’ve been blown away.

The thought alone was ridiculous.

And yet, after witnessing their battle firsthand, it didn’t feel impossible at all.

The two of them were monsters.

There really wasn’t a better way to describe it.

Every single time I thought I had a proper understanding of Mr. Faust’s strength, he somehow found a way to completely shatter my expectations.

I knew he was strong.

That much had never been in doubt.

But this?

This was something else entirely.

I never imagined he was strong enough to fight on equal footing against someone like her.

A genuine monster.

And yet, that was exactly what was happening right in front of me.

My eyes stayed locked on the battlefield.

Even while powerful winds continued crashing against me.

Even while my hair was getting completely ruined.

At this point, fixing it later was going to be a whole separate battle.

A battle I was definitely going to lose.

Still, I couldn’t bring myself to look away.

The fight unfolding before me was simply too unbelievable.

Too important.

Too significant.

"Now..." I quietly muttered to myself.

The certainty inside my chest continued growing stronger.

"Now I’m more certain than ever."

My eyes remained fixed on Mr. Faust.

"He’s the one I’ve been waiting for."

I tightened my grip unconsciously.

"He’s the one who can kill Satania."

The moment I said those words, I realized I genuinely believed them.

Not because I wanted to.

Not because I was desperate.

But because everything I was seeing right now pointed toward the same conclusion.

I didn’t think anyone else could do it.

I didn’t think anyone else in this world possessed the strength necessary to make something like that happen.

After everything I had witnessed today, one belief remained firmly rooted in my mind.

If anyone could kill Satania someday...

It would be him.
