Chapter 246: The King’s Courage.

The black miasma began to form in front of Bel and at once formed into a pitch black rod.

Bel grabbed it, he flew and smashed the chains binding the red Knight with the rod, the chains shattered.

"That’s right, I don’t know much about Eurekyl but it’s definitely weak against dark magic, and that rod right is a magical weapon" she said, "now come!! Free us!!" She said.

But instead Bel turned back towards the water serpent.

"Heeey!! What is that bastard doing?!!" Ariel yelled.

"Looks like he’s thinking of fighting the seven headed serpent himself." Godeye said.

"The fuck!! Why will it? That’s a monster as dangerous as a wyvern as though that is not enough, it has entered the upper echelon, it can easily beat Azes as it –"

~Swoooosh~

As Bel disappeared a pitch black line pierced the air from where he was and past the water serpent. One of its head fell into the water.

Ariel’s mouth fell open, "I don’t know who is faster between Master and this person..."

"Hoho, impressive" Godeye said, using his hands to rub his chins. Only Only did Ariel and the rest realised that he was not tied but was sitting on the stake.

"When did you get free?!" Ariel shouted.

"This kind of thing can not stop me, since my abyssal flames are not magic"

"That’s true" she said silently.

"Then help me" she said.

"I think we should just stick with the boy’s plan for now, if he is trying to protect it, let him" Godeye said

"What are you saying? He will die!!"

"Hmm" Godeye rubbed his chin again.

"The f**k" Ariel growled of frustration.

Bel landed back on the floor,

"I thought...it would be four"

It was the first time he talked.

The red Knight touched his shoulder and gave him a thumbs up. He nodded and gave the red Knight a sword he drew out of his belly.

The head that had been cut off, suddenly grew back at a sharp speed.

~ROOOOAAAARRRGHHH!!~

The serpent roared so loud that people began to bleed, excluding the likes of Levon and all of Rein’s Party including Grim whom Azes quickly cast a protection spell on.

Both of them swooped off into the air.

~bwoooooookkkk~

The water serpent released a breathe of purple gas which allowed Bel to cut the air instead of cutting another head.

Not wasting time another head opened its mouth.

"Don’t tell me..." Ariel said and shouted, "Go away!!!!"

~whoooooooooom~

The serpent poured out fire from its mouth exploding all the areas filled with the purple gas, the explosion continued and was tremendous such that it shook the city and temporary separated the waters that the feet of the serpent was showing.

The red Knight and Bel landed on the bank but tumbled, the Knight seemed to have pulled Bel out before he got too sucked into the purple gas, though Bel was still greatly affected from the explosion as he lost one wing.

Black blood gushed out the decapitated wing. Bel looked at it and looked at the water serpent. He swung the rod spirally and ran into the sea again. The red Knight nodded and followed.

~whooooooooosssh~

This time it was a black thick liquid that came out of the third head of the wyvern, but as he spirally spinned his rod, a large dark circle appeared in front of him, projecting from the spinning of his rod and blocking it off, as the liquid fell on the floor, it melted the ground.

He immediately created clones of himself, it was a skill that was exclusive to the beastwill which Rein used quite alot but had no more. The five of him attack at once, accompanied by the red Knight facing the last head and all the head was decapitated.

They all landed back on the bank, the clones disappeared.

He and the red Knight and everyone that watched carefully observed the serpent. He was beginning to become a beacon of hope to the dwarves.

"Ayy, dammit, like it would go down that easily" Ariel said as she abyssal flames consumed the chains and melted it away, she landed on her feet.

"Ohoh, what a dangerous thing, did she copy my ability even though its not magic" Godeye said.

The abyssal flame consumed Azes and Katherine’s chain also, they were freed and came behind Ariel.

"Right now, I want to get rid of this thing has soon as possible and go meet Master"

"Me too" Azes said.

"Me too" Katherine said.

Meanwhile Levon watched from where he was tied, ’are those his friends...’ he thought.

Purple miasma covered everywhere around the serpent and the body reduced. Its pressure on the surrounding became more stinging and toxic that it even cause the throat of those that could not bare it such as lower class humans and dwarves to itch.

The serpent came out of the water and unto the bank, white haired, white skinned, purple eyeballs, purple robe-like dress and his fangs standing out as he opened his mouth to talk.

"Why are you bothering me? I don’t want to fight any one, I just want to eat and go back...isn’t that how we used to do this for the past eight years" he said.

The first elder of the dwarf stepped forward,

"We are sorry, Lord serpent...our captives this time prove to be rather stubborn..." he said, avoiding the gaze of Ariel and Bel who has been fighting.

"What is brother doing?!! Shouldn’t we be siding those humans, I mean they might be able to deliver us from this, but we are going to ignore them?!!"

"Shut up Backhoir, these guys are fighting for their lives, a whole kingdom is at stake, and do you think they can defeat that monster you see in front of us?" The second elder, a white haired and shirt bearded dwarf said.

"You too?!!" Backhoir faced the king, "your majesty, restore our honor has dwarves, across the continent, people don’t even value our skills anymore, our presence does not carry importance, please your majesty, do what I right" he said and went on his knee. Three other elders in agreement with him also went on their knees, leaving just two standing, the second elder and the fifth elder.

"You really do put me in a tough position Backhoir..." The king said and let out a sigh of distress. He stood up and walked towards the serpent.

He bowed, Gedhoir, tried to stop him but held himself back.

"Lord serpent, I am the King of this nation, Duridrumri Bhaneatalin, I am a hundred and forty seven years and for eighty years like you said, I have given you all the sacrifices you required. But it is beginning to tarnish our reputation as dwarves. The legends our ancestors left for us are beginning to disappear, no one wants to see our skills, no one wants to wear our armour, no one wants to use our swords. Our heritage is declining, we are becoming nothing..."

"So?" The serpent said.

The King hesitated but mustered his courage, though he couldn’t help but sweat.

"We can’t help you anymore, we have tried enough" he said.

Gedhoir was shocked, including all the elders.

The serpent stood still and stared down at the King with his cold eyes.

~swooosh~

The serpent hand moved before the dwarven King’s eyes to even roll to follow.

"Keergh" he fell on the floor and put his arm up to guard, after realising that he was still alright, he opened his eyes to see.

The hand that the serpent had raised was flying in the air separated from his body.

"You really think you can do that with all of us standing here?" Ariel said.

Bel’s rod was a breathe farther from the neck of the serpent.

’She was faster...’ Bel thought.

Azes, Katherine, Bel, the red Knight and Ariel surrounded the serpent, while Godeye and Huemac watched from above the pole, though Huemac was still chained.

Silence filled the atmosphere as the serpent stared back at all of them.

The grave silence was broken by a tremendous scream that seemed to come from behind the castle, followed by a shockwave.

The King’s ring began to glow red light.

"Impossible" he said

Gedhoir looked at the glow, "this ring...the treasure of our ancestors...your majesty isn’t that ring meant to be the key to the treasure land of our ancestors he yelled, forgetting all that they were surrounded by"

"I felt a powerful dark magic just now...and I think it was from Master" Bel spoke gently to Ariel.

"Ah, what is he up to again, is he going to steal from the dwarf or what?"

While they were distracted the serpent disappeared.

Ariel was about to break its teleportation but she was already late.

"So he ran..." Bel said.

"No..." Ariel responded looking at the place the scream came from, "He’s headed towards where that scream came from"

"Wouldn’t that be Master?" Bel said.

"Are you worried?" Ariel asked.

"Yes" he replied.

Godeye jumped down and approached them, "if it’s about Rein, I also can’t keep my cool" he said.

Huemac came too but said nothing and just observed Levon, Mos and Twen, he’s eyes has been on them from the beginning.

"Let’s make sure everyone is safe and well, then we leave to meet Master" she faced the dwarven king, "Don’t think you are off the hook, you just angered the strongest nation in the all of this Abeir-toril" she said.

"Ohoh, you are the first to ever say this universe name, how much have you grown in terms of knowledge lady Ariel..." Godeye said but she did not reply.

’Her abilities are too much...is there something, Rein-boy isn’t telling us...’ he thought.
