Chapter 192: Chapter 190: The Alcot family

The next day Rein got up early and prepared for the day, before nine in the morning he was already downstairs at the lobby board where he would pick a mission.

A yellow haired gentleman walked to him.

Rein glanced at him, ’judging by his hair colour and how his skin is, he’s a dweller.’

"Are you having difficulty choosing a quest"

"Well, something like that"

"Why don’t you go for this one?" The guy, plucked out a letter, it’s a F rank quest, it should be doable, considering you are justing starting and your tag is wood, the lowest rank.’

"Thank you" Rein collected the letter, ’you didn’t have to point that out though’

"Oh and you will submit that to the attendant" he smiled.

’Eww’ Rein made a disgusted face as he turned over, ’he’s so handsome he makes me wanna puke’

Rein submitted the letter to the attendant.

"Wait a second" She did some reviewing and got back to Rein.

"At the outskirts of the city some families are being disturbing by two goblins, seeing how all they do is come steal their farm produces, the two goblins must not be a big deal and should be easy to take care of even for the weakest adventurer. Complete this and receive the reward from the family, you have to submit a letter of appreciation written by the family that submitted this letter"

"Yes ma"

"Well, that will be all"

Reinarf walked away and was on his way to go and check the family and hear from them, when the yellow dude from before approached him again.

"Ahhh... sorry, I wanted to ask you, do you want to form a party?"

’Party, huh...’, "No I think I should be good on this one"

"No not for you, it’s for us, you see there’s a quest that we have been after for the past three months, every adventurer has actually been running away from the quest and won’t form party with us, the quest is a C rank quest and even the new private guild has not been able to solve it yet, I really want to solve it and I think I can this time around, you don’t have to fight, just fill in the one slot, it’s a party quest so we can’t go unless we have the required number"

"....okay, when I complete this quest, I will join you"

"I can help you with your quest if you don’t mind"

"Thank you but I refuse"

He smiles, "my name is Pashar"

’Don’t fucking smile Pashar, I hate your face’ , "I’m Reinard"

"See you around" he smiles and waves at Reinard who turned and continued to his quest location.

On getting there, the family was very easy to find as their farm was located in front of their large cabin house. Rein got closer and in front he could see a young boy on tanks, feeding the goats. The boy stands and looks at Reinard, "are you the adventurer?"

"Yes, is Mr Bristol in?"

"Not at the moment, he went to the city market with my mother and sister, I’m currently the only one in. It’s the issue about the goblins right?"

"Yes"

"Argh damn, I told father I could take care of it he wouldn’t let me..."

’Is this how easy a F rank quest is, that a kid thinks he can take care of it’

"Anyways, you won’t see the goblins until night, you can stay and tell me about your adventures"

"Oh, sorry I’m new" Rein showed him his tag.

The boy made a disappointed face, "ohh, no wonder you got assigned to a thrash job like this"

’Is that really how a kid should talk’, Rein smiled, "so what is your name little one?"

"Don’t call me that, you sound like my uncle and I hate him, my name is Thurber"

"Okay Thurber, since it’s still early in the morning I’ll leave and check the area the I’ll be back around late afternoon."

"Ah wait" Thurber runs inside and comes out with a shirt. "Okay, let’s go"

"...uh?"

"Let’s go, since father and mother isn’t around and you an adventurer, hanging out with you might be a good idea, you an adventurer right, even though you are a wood tag adventurer, protecting a kid should still be easy right?"

’Is this how a kid should really be talking, I’m getting to my limit, I will fucking beat up this kid’, Reinard smiles, "yea sure", ’first rule of business, customer is always right. I can’t lose the quest when I just started’

Rein and Thurber then began to go around the outskirts, with Thurber pointing many things out to Rein who was a newbie in the city. Then they went to the city where Rein sponsored their lunch.

"Ahhh...being an adventurer must be so nice, you get to eat tasty food like this and even drink booze. Adventurer can I buy booze"

"Certainly not" Rein refused.

"Awh man, you are boring... do you even drink booze"

Rein looked at Thurber and did not reply he instead continued eating, ’fuck that’s right, I have not tasted this world local alcohol, all I’ve drank is that luxurious wine that taste like shit.’

"Father and mother should be heading home soon, let’s begin to go home too"

As Rein a Thurber got outside the city, Rein summoned Tom and he came running with his superspeed, a unique skill he received when he evolved to a draconic Feral Maaka.

"Waaah, you have such a big and scary mount, you are the real deal adventurer"

Rein rode with pride to their home.

They got home and waited together, Rein helped Thurber with farm work and they bonded well with their time they’ve spent together. The family came back and met Rein watering plants.

"That’s the adventurer that came to help us kill the goblins" Thurber said to his parents.

"Okay..." His father went in.

"Thurber come inside soon Okay" The mother also said, with Thurber sister Khelfa asleep in her arms.

"Yes mother"

Thurber ran towards the farm fence, "adventurer its okay let’s go in"

After a little while Rein joined the family and ate dinner which was eating quite early. The father of the family, Mr Bristol, took a long bag and told Rein, meet me outside adventurer. Rein followed immediately.

’What is this mood?’ Rein asked himself as he went out with him. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖

"Is dad going to test the adventurer like he did with others? And then send him away if again?"

"Thurber, understand your father. He’s doing it to protect you and us too"

"Tsk..." he scoffs and leaves the table, goes to the window of his room to watch them.

"Pull your sword" The man said to Reinard as unclothed and unboxed the stuff he carried outside.

"Pardon?"

"You must be thinking, why will he ask me to pull my sword. It will be your loss if you don’t" He finally finished unboxing and stood up a large Saber sword, its height was to his torso. He raised the sword and dashed at Rein with a large overhead strike, Rein easily dodged by hopping sideways but he was surprised.

’Combining the weight of that sword, isn’t that speed unusual for a human’

The man smirked, "you must think this is a piece of cake since you are not willing to still pull your sword."

"I’m sorry, it will be-"

ᴄʀᴀsʜʜ

Rein dodged again and the sword crashed the ground.

’Woh woh, this guy power is no joke...’

Mr Bristol was beginning to get wary, ’...it wasn’t a lucky dodge earlier, most adventurers couldn’t keep up with the speed, the ones that could found the power hard to deal with, if he can dodge like that, does that mean he can easily deal with it... no, let’s not conclude like that, this is a delicate job’

He began to throw his sword strikes at Rein who kept dodging and dodging till he was pushed to the wooden fence of the farm.

’...aish Dammit... I didn’t want to pull my sword but he won’t back off’

Rein held the black sword and elegantly pulled it but the sword won’t pull.

"Eh...please black sword don’t do this now" Rein kept dragging it but it refused to be drawn and stayed sheathed.

Bristol Alcot kept looking at him for a while, ’Dammit, I was dumb to actually expect anything from him’

He held his sword tight and filled it with aura, both his body and sword.

"Aura strike!"

ᴡʜᴏᴏsʜ

ᴡʜᴏᴏsʜ

The man swung his sword horizontal and vertical sending to blue-colored aura slashes at Rein who hurriedly pulled out white dragon from his subspace inventory and warded off the slashes even with white dragon sheath on.

"Excuse me sir, do you want to.destroy your farm."

"Did you just parry an aura attack, with a sword"

"I might not look like it but my aura mastery is superior level, to be able to easily fend off that attack you must atleast be a master or perhaps a superior master?"

"Yes, prominent master level"

"What...? Prominent? Then you have entered aura materialization?"

"Yes, is it a big deal?"

"Are you kidding me? Entering aura materialization is the dream of every fighter because not everyone can do it, only few I’m this world can. And those who can are the true aura masters" The man bowed to Rein, "I’m sorry to have misjudged you"

"It’s okay, but I’m wondering, how do you have such a large sword and able to fight like that when you should be a farmer?"

"Well, before giving birth to Thurber, I used to be an adventurer too, that was about eleven years ago"

’So the kid is about eleven years old huh...’

"...but I quit, I needed to be there for my family. I’ve had experiences, goblins are not to be taken lightly even though the Adventurers guild tagged it a F rank quest, it may not turn out so"

"What do you mean?"

"Well, you see the adventurer guild does not take proper measures when ranking a quest, they just tag it according to the request, they are quite careless and that has led to a lot of life loss, even my teammates included. Alot of times the F rank don’t always turn out to be F rank, so I had to take extra measures in making sure the adventurer they send is reliable. I’m at rest now that I have confirmed that you are a Prominent aura master, it gives the assurance that you can materialize your aura"

’...oho, so that was what the Prominent was for, to tell apart those that can materialize aura’ Rein smiled and nodded.

Thurber’s mother and Thurber came out, Thurber went running at Rein, "Wow you are so strong, you went bam bam whoooosh and bah bah against dad, dad was totally helpless"

Bristol smiled, "It his dream to become an adventurer too, if you don’t mind can you train him?"

Rein smiled, "oh, really. Thurber wants to be an adventurer"

’What the hell, is it with this Dexterity?!! Ariel, what is this innate skill’

{More like talent}

{It can also be likened unto Master’s profession concept which has been erased}

{In Master’s case, godgamer would be the innate skill}

’So what does this Ambidextrous mean?’

{The ability to execute any task perfectly with both hands}

{He can also write with both hands}

’How does this have to contribute to sword fight?’

{He would be an excellent dual sword wielder}

Rein smiled, ’...oho, for Ariel to say that...’

{300% better than any other}

Rein’s eyes widened, ’this is going to be fun’
