Chapter 194: Chapter 194: Pay Up!

"Miss, don’t cry."

"You can find someone better."

Jovian looked at the heartbroken alien girl and tried to comfort her softly.

Drip. Drip. Drip.

That only made things worse. The alien girl who had been hunted by Alien Muzan started crying even harder.

"Well..."

Jovian started thinking about ways to cheer people up, but after mulling it over for a long while, he came to a conclusion based on the experience of his original body and the other "comrades." Usually, in a situation like this, all it took was a nice lively drumline beat or some kind of upbeat clap routine. Of course, that part wasn’t important. What mattered was that it had to make a crisp smack-smack-smack sound.

Just as Jovian was about to say something else, he suddenly sensed a trace of killing intent.

"Darramb, take this girl to GUTS first."

"We’ve got a guest."

Jovian smiled at the red Giant of Darkness in front of him, then gave the order.

"As you command."

The yellow glow in the red dark giant’s eyes flickered faintly. Then, with great respect, he bowed slightly to Jovian. In the next second, he reached out toward the alien girl.

"Wait..."

Just as the red Giant of Darkness was about to touch her, Jovian suddenly spoke and stopped him.

"Hm?"

Darramb froze for a second when he heard Jovian’s voice.

"There’s one thing you need to remember. Control your strength. Don’t crush this girl too."

Jovian reminded Darramb to be careful with his grip.

"Understood."

After a brief pause, Darramb nodded lightly. He carefully pinched up the terrified alien girl, who did not dare move at all, then shot into the sky in the next instant.

"Stop hiding and come out."

After Darramb left, Jovian looked up at the clear sky and spoke.

"So you noticed me after all..."

"As expected of the strongest being in this universe."

The moment Jovian finished speaking, the sky warped. A golden portal suddenly opened, and a glowing golden alien strode straight up to him without the slightest hesitation.

"I can’t see your future at all. Who exactly are you?"

After studying Jovian for a moment, the golden alien asked in confusion.

"Who am I?"

"I’m just a Dark Great Space Emperor passing through this universe."

The corner of Jovian’s mouth curled upward. He made no effort whatsoever to hide who he was and simply said it outright.

"So it really is you."

"You’re the one who turned this parallel universe’s Land of Light into a complete mess, aren’t you?"

"I never expected you’d be able to break free of your original fate. That’s made me a little interested in you."

"I wonder if you’d be interested in working with me..."

"I am..."

When the little golden man heard Jovian personally reveal his identity, he smiled slightly and prepared to recruit him.

"I know who you are. The ultimate life form of the Absolutian race, Absolute Tartarus, right?"

Jovian smiled and cut off Tartarus’s big introduction scene before it could even begin.

"Uh..."

The little golden man, the ultimate life form of the Absolutian race, froze after hearing Jovian say that. He had not expected Jovian to know exactly who he was.

"What’s there to be surprised about?"

"I’m Jovian, Alien Empera, the Dark Great Space Emperor who shattered his own fate and became one of a kind across the entire multiverse."

Jovian smiled and calmly reintroduced himself.

"You Absolutians only want the Land of Light, don’t you? I can grant it to you."

With grand generosity, Jovian declared that he could reward the Absolutians with the Land of Light. After all, he did not actually own the Land of Light, so handing it away cost him nothing. As for Earth or any other reward, he said not a word, because he really did have an Earth.

"You..."

The little golden man stared at Jovian and began thinking. The reason he had not approached Alien Empera from the start was because Alien Empera was not only powerful, but arrogantly self-important. There was no way he would ever willingly stand beneath someone else. If Tartarus brought Alien Empera into his group, there was a very real chance his group would collapse from the inside before they even got started.

But this Alien Empera was different. Special. That was exactly why Tartarus had come looking for Jovian. He wanted to use the tremendous power of a man who had single-handedly wrecked an entire Land of Light to deal with the main universe’s already fully developed, terrifyingly powerful Land of Light.

And once they took the Land of Light, that would be the moment to turn on Jovian.

"All right. If you can help us seize the Land of Light, then the Absolutian race is willing to offer you our loyalty."

After only a brief moment of thought, the little golden man immediately swore allegiance to Jovian, though the unspoken condition was that Jovian first had to prove he had enough power to help them deal with the mighty Land of Light.

"That’s easy."

"If I can break one Land of Light, I can break a second."

Jovian sounded utterly calm, as if the Land of Light was hardly worth mentioning.

"I believe you. But I still hope you can display your power. You understand, I may trust your strength, but my people might not. I’d like you to show enough force to make my people shut their mouths."

Tartarus’s mind was moving fast. He was trying to use Jovian’s power to handle one of his problems for him.

"Heh..."

Jovian saw right through him and laughed.

"So what trouble have you run into? Let me hear it."

Jovian directly laid bare Tartarus’s situation.

"Hm?!"

Tartarus had not expected Jovian to see through him so easily. He went silent for a moment.

"I really have run into an enemy, one I’ve struggled to defeat no matter what I try."

Once Tartarus realized Jovian had already seen through his thoughts, he stopped hiding it and spoke plainly.

"Oh? An enemy even you haven’t been able to put down for all this time?"

"Interesting..."

"Go on. Tell me."

Jovian suddenly looked intrigued, clearly interested in the powerful enemy Tartarus was talking about.

"That man is U40’s strongest warrior, one who stands at the very peak of the Ultra warriors and comes infinitely close to a miracle, Joneus!"

Tartarus clenched his fists. He had assumed that the only ones in this universe capable of stopping the Absolutian Kingdom’s expansion were the warriors known as miracles. What he had not expected was that the Ultra warriors were full of hidden monsters. Beyond the so-called miracles, there were also beings who had spent countless years polishing their skills until those skills had reached absolute perfection, and those warriors were not to be underestimated either.

Among those supreme masters, the 대표 figures were Father of Ultra and Joneus, the warriors who stood at the very top of their respective worlds.

"Joneus..."

The moment Tartarus said that name, Jovian paused, then frowned.

Joneus really was a pain to deal with. The guy debuted by chasing down four or five monsters by himself. Maybe it was because he came from an animated series, but swinging around monsters that weighed tens of thousands of tons like they were toys was just standard operating procedure for him. And one of his bigger highlight reels included punching a thousand-meter-tall monster square in the upper jaw and swatting it clean into outer space with one massive backhand.

But none of that was the important part.

The important part was that people who didn’t know Joneus would look at that star-headed Ultra warrior and ask what backwater village he came from, maybe even whether he was one of Judge Bao’s relatives. People who knew Joneus would just call him Joneus. And the people who really knew him would be thinking of him as future family.

And Joneus had a sister named Amia, and she was pretty great too.

"I can recruit this universe’s Joneus."

After thinking for a moment, Jovian gave his answer.

"What?"

Tartarus froze after hearing that. Recruiting Joneus had never even crossed his mind.

"You’ve already visited that Land of Light I’ve been toying with like it’s in the palm of my hand, haven’t you?"

"So what did you think?"

Jovian asked Tartarus what impression Belial’s Land of Light had left on him.

"The entire Land of Light is arrogant beyond belief."

"To be honest, it’s pretty irritating."

After thinking about it, Tartarus voiced his opinion of the Land of Light under Belial’s rule. Belial was cold by nature, proud to the point of arrogance, and under his leadership the Land of Light, especially the members of the Inter Galactic Defense Force, acted like they were above everyone, looking down on this one and despising that one. And Belial truly did protect his own. After personally wiping out several civilizations for "disrespecting" the Land of Light, the rest of the universe could do nothing but seethe in silence.

"Well, there you have it."

"Do you think Joneus might be sick of the Land of Light too?"

"And more importantly, Joneus may be a saint, but do you really think the fools on U40’s ruling council have truly submitted to the Land of Light?"

"Do you think every single person in the Land of Light has truly submitted to the one Belial leads?"

Jovian smiled faintly, as though he could see through everything. Clearly, a plan had already formed in his mind.

"So you already have a plan?"

Tartarus gave Jovian a slight nod. At this point, he was beginning to feel a bit of genuine respect for him.

"Of course."

Jovian clasped his hands behind his back, utterly confident in his own scheme.

"No wonder you’re the root of all evil..."

Tartarus looked at Jovian and could not help sighing.

He had studied Alien Empera before, because Alien Empera was a turning point in Ultra history that simply could not be ignored.

Alien Empera, one of the greatest enemies the Ultras had ever faced, had nearly ruled the entire universe while he was alive and had once come dangerously close to conquering the Land of Light itself.

And when he was on the verge of taking it, Ken, the future Father of Ultra, who had already sealed Juda twenty thousand years earlier and possessed the Land of Light’s top-tier combat power at the time, took up the Ultra Blade passed down through generations, awakened his true power, and fought Alien Empera inside a barrier. Even then, the result had only been mutual destruction, each of them leaving permanent scars on the other’s kidneys.

But that was only the beginning of Alien Empera’s terrifying influence.

Alien Empera’s overwhelming dark power, so close to invincible that he could extinguish all light with a wave of his hand and even the sun itself could not shine in his presence, drove Ultraman Belial into despair and pushed him down the wrong path, turning him into yet another great enemy of the Land of Light.

Then there was one of Alien Empera’s own followers, the high-dimensional predator Bogarl. Because Bogarl slaughtered innocents indiscriminately, the overpowered Ultraman Hikari ended up falling into darkness and becoming Hunter Knight Tsurugi.

With Belial and Hikari both falling in succession, Tregear, who had already begun doubting light and the faith of the Ultra warriors, followed right in their footsteps without hesitation and became a great enemy of Taiga and even the Land of Light itself.

There were countless fallen Ultra warriors, and behind them you could almost always see Alien Empera’s shadow.

Sure, in the end Mebius Phoenix Brave joined forces with that man and used humanity’s utterly broken beam amplifier to kill Alien Empera, the guy who loved running around half-naked, bathing in beams, and never bothering to dodge, but if anything, that only proved how terrifyingly powerful Alien Empera really was.

That was why Tartarus remained so wary of Alien Empera. The Absolutian race, just like the Ultra warriors of the Land of Light, was also made of light.

And that left Tartarus wondering whether cooperating with Jovian would eventually lead the Absolutian warriors down the same path, one after another, into the embrace of darkness just like the Ultras before them.

"Are you afraid of me now?"

Alien Empera looked at Tartarus and smiled faintly.

Tartarus said nothing, but inwardly he felt even more uneasy.

"Relax. I’ve always treated my subordinates very well."

Jovian smiled and presented himself as a benevolent emperor who loved his people.

"?"

Tartarus blanked. If someone didn’t know Alien Empera, fine, but Tartarus knew his background inside and out, and he definitely did not think Alien Empera was kind to his underlings.

Who exactly was it that had blown away Alien Mefilas, one of his own Four Heavenly Kings, and casually stuffed Ark Bogarl, the king of the dimension-devouring Bogarl race, into a black hole?

At first Tartarus had only been a little uneasy. Now he was starting to worry about his own life. He could not help wondering whether the man before him, a man even stronger than any Alien Empera from any timeline, might just stab him in the back someday.

"Cheer up."

"I’ll make you one of my Four Heavenly Kings."

Jovian patted the little golden man on the shoulder and made the offer with grand generosity.

"This is bad..."

The little golden man panicked even more. One of Alien Empera’s Four Heavenly Kings? Forget surviving, was there even a single one of them who got a decent ending?

"Heh..."

Jovian looked at the smile Tartarus was forcing onto his face and laughed.

Meanwhile...

In the U40 universe, the Land of Light’s arrogance in recent years had bred deep resentment among many of U40’s people.

"Damn the Land of Light!"

Of all of them, a man named Heka hated the Land of Light and Belial more than anyone.

Unfortunately, he lacked the necessary strength. Otherwise, he would have taken his followers and thrown himself into a fight to the death with Belial long ago.

"Heka! I am Alien Empera, the Dark Great Space Emperor..."

"I am not dead. I’m currently assembling a brand-new army to defeat Belial and take control of the Land of Light!"

"I am now giving you a chance to pledge yourself to me. I will make you one of my Four Heavenly Kings!"

That day, just as Heka was once again cursing under his breath, a majestic voice suddenly rang out inside his head. It sounded exactly like a scam message, and Heka went quiet for a moment.

"My chance has finally come!"

With no anti-scam hotline around to warn him off, Heka burst out laughing.
