One word could describe how I felt the moment I finished my first Circulation of the Hidden Vestiges of Physicality….DISGUSTING!
From head to toe, I was drenched in the foul grey fluid, exhausted by the completion of my first Cycle; it felt as if I had been dipped in peanut butter.
’Blegh…that’s nasty.’ spreading out my fingers and observing the sticky substance drawing strings between them, I felt the strong urge to take a dozen showers, but unfortunately, that wasn’t in the cards.
Between being far too short to even turn the water on and being too young to be allowed to bathe alone, I knew my options were severely limited, so I did the next best thing.
I opened up the Arkadia Shop, navigated to the MISC Shop, located some anti-bacterial wet wipes, and began taking, as my father used to call it, ’a bird bath’.
In 30 minutes, I went through several boxes of wet wipes until I even felt remotely clean; only then did I take the time to observe any changes I had undergone.
For starters, I felt f**king fantastic, like no joke, I felt like I could run across the entire United States without breaking a sweat.
Jumping up to my feet, I quickly performed a few brief exercises, such as jumping jacks and push-ups. I even sprinted from one side of the room to the other and noticed a decent amount of improvement.
’Ok, Taylor, don’t let it go to your head; you already knew your biggest gains would be upon using the Skill for the first time,’ rolling out my neck and releasing a loud pop, I waved my hand in the air to bring my display panel back to the front of my vision and opened up my Status.

’WOAH! HA…holy s**t, it actually worked!’ pinching my cheek to double-check it wasn’t a dream, I began happily dancing around my room out of pure excitement.
’Who gives a rat’s ass about the 0.25 increase in my physical stats? I HAVE NATURAL PC NOW, HAHA!’
Although it was only a 25% chance, the first Cycle of the Hidden Vestiges of Physicality could potentially increase your natural PC by a flat rate of 5 points, and it appeared lady luck continued shining brightly on me as I had nailed that ¼ chance, earning myself the puny amount of PC.
It took me several minutes to reign in my excitement, but even when I was clean and dressed in my pajamas, I couldn’t stop smiling like a fool.
The reason being 5 points in PC was actually a pretty big deal. It was half of the guaranteed allotment post achieving Alpha Rank, which was a standard 10 points for a Basic Human.
Literally every human on Earth started with 10 when they ranked up for the first time, the only exception being those who had specialized Circulation Skills that allowed for early gain.
And here I was, a No-Rank level 0, and I already had five natural PC; that was something no sane person wouldn’t be freaking out about. It meant that my starting point was going to be higher than anyone else.
’Heh, it’s a shame I only get that benefit after the first Cycle is completed, or else I could be a powerhouse before ever obtaining my first level up. But I suppose beggars can’t be choosers.’
’I know for a fact I won’t be seeing another 0.25-point increase in my stats; it’s only downhill from here. If the knowledge about the skill I learned in the Technique Space is to be trusted in the Minor Attainment, I should only receive a 0.01 point increase from here on out.’ Smacking my lips and crawling back up into my crib, I knew I needed to crunch some numbers, especially after seeing the large amount of wealth I had blown on resources and items as of late.
’I’m nearly out of Low-Alpha coins, and I’ve spent over a hundred thousand dollars on conversions. Since I have 5 PC naturally, I can cut back on buying an 8th Particle stone; however, I will still need seven stones every time I want to use my Circulation skill…that’s 7000 Low-Alpha coins per use…70,000 USD…damn it, it just isn’t worth it, but I NEED to do this or else I will fall too far behind those rich bastards.’
’At best, if I spend seven of my eight-million dollars, I can only use my Circulation skill a total of 100 times…at which I would only be earning a single point in my Physical Stats…’ ruffling my hair as I fell backward onto my pillow, the feeling of being poor while being rich was frustrating.
’Damn inflation, damn Arkadia, why does everything have to be so freaking expensive? I should be living well with 8 million dollars, but NO, my dumb ass needs to get stronger by burning cash like feeding a fireplace kindling.’
’Money…I need more money, but how…if I had my control Skill, I could do a bank heist or something, but it’ll be a while before I can use that skill due to PC restraints, let alone get my hands on it early.’
