{Talent Growth Rate: 0%} *5x Modifier*

{Physical Offense: 1.25} (+1)

{Physical Defense: 1.25} (+1)

{Intellect: 26} (+1)

{Meta Physical Offense: 4.25} (+4)

{Meta Physical Defense: 4.25} (+4)

’Jackpot, well mostly, I only got +4 in my Meta Physical Stats, but still, that’s 3 points higher than the worst possible outcome, so I’m happy with it.’ The light in my eyes brightened as I continuously read the Modifier attached to my Talent Growth Rate.

’Now THAT is f**king awesome; I know that it will depreciate in time, more specifically with each increase in my Rank. The Modifier will fall by 0.5, but that’s fine; with it, I will be at an advantage.’ Upon throwing all the empty vials into my inventory for disposal at a later time, I crossed my legs and closed my eyes to think.

’The sun hasn’t been up too long, so I slept around 6 hours; in that time, my body fully adapted, and I can officially say I am sitting at the maximum potential of a 6C…only I’m a child.’

’There is still too much mystery behind higher races, especially since the Myriad jerks refused to divulge the information, but from what I can tell, the higher your Racial Classification, the more unstable your physical growth rate is.’ Inhaling through my nose, I slowly exhaled out of my mouth as I worked to feel as much of my body as possible.

Think of it as a meditation technique or a modified one, considering this was precisely the method I used in the future to cycle Particles through my body to get stronger.

As it turns out, Leveling up is only a fraction of what goes into a rank-up. Sure, a big part of opening the door to breaking through to the next Rank is maxing out your level; however, there is more to it; for example, you need to ensure your body is 100% adapted to your Rank’s Particles.

Much like how the planet needed to be saturated with Alpha Particles, your body is the same. Through the process of leveling up, your body absorbs a portion of the Particles making up your opponents, and Arkadia represents this numerically as XP.

Essentially, all you are doing is stealing the particles absorbed by your enemies and using them to strengthen yourself.

However, once you reach the maximum level, it is indicative that your body can no longer store any new particles, and thus, the assimilation step begins.

During this step, you are tasked with merging the abundant particles you’ve absorbed with your body, and once you have completed the process, you rank up, and your body can contain the next grade of particles.

In broader terms, think of leveling up as eating a meal and Assimilation as digestion.

This leads me to explain how utilizing Particles works. Unlike in fiction, where characters have a Mana Core or some similar organ to hold their Mana or Qi, in reality, things are vastly different, as it is your BODY that contains the Particles; in a sense, your entire body becomes one giant receptacle for Particles, and by leveling up, you are increasing how much it can hold.

This also means if you somehow lose an appendage, such as, let’s say, an arm, the maximum amount of Particles you can store will have a drastic drop-off.

Diving further into the topic, utilizing particles, was no easy task in the beginning. Hell, it took me weeks to even understand what Alpha particles felt like.

But the process was expedited thanks to the planet’s grade increase; thus, for the most part, everyone had a grasp of the strange feeling that came along with being exposed to radiation-like sensations.

The higher up the ladder you climb, you begin to naturalize the feeling, and moving the foreign objects, much smaller than atoms, becomes second nature, and that was something I was banking on.

Between being in a higher Racial Class and having spent years using particles to grow, I had a relatively decent grasp on what I was about to attempt. Although it would be extremely difficult and even harmful, it was a necessary step I needed to take.

The worst part was, if you tried pushing past the limit and tried accumulating even more…well, have you ever seen an overfilled water balloon, basically your body becomes that until it can’t stand the strain any longer and POP!

Luckily, there was a relatively simple way to increase the natural maximum of particles your body can store, and apart from leveling up, if you had a higher Race Class, you could contain more particles. As a 6C, there was no doubt in my mind that even as a No-Ranker, I should be capable of holding, at the VERY least, 50 PC or Particle Count.

At the peak of No-Rank, the maximum amount of Alpha particles your body can hold is numerically classified as 10. That was it, or at least as a Basic Human.

Also, bear in mind that 50 PCs doesn’t represent only 50 of the microscopic particles stored; now, each tick on the PC counter represents a Unit similar to a Medical CC *Cubic centimeters*, which are used to convey liquid medication.

Getting the Particles to move to your will takes time, but once you’ve got a firm grasp on it, you realize it is not as difficult as, say, forcing your blood to move; no, instead, it’s almost like particles have a mind of their own, and WANT to help you grow or fight.

Now, when it comes to Talents, everyone’s way of training is different but similar at the same time. In a sense, your Talent can be compared to a muscle: the more you use it, the stronger it gets, and the stronger it gets, the more adept you get at utilizing it and learning more about how it works.

For Brenden, his method of training was relatively simple, working out with his Talent Active, and in the beginning, the amount of time he could sustain his Talent was, at best, 1 minute.

He simply didn’t have enough particles stored to keep it active.
