Guiding everyone to the Command Center, I looked around and nodded in approval. If before Brenden, Dad, and I looked like a bunch of battle-hardened veterans from a fantasy world in our leather armor, now, everyone looked like true Movie Heroes.
Over the years, I have spent vast amounts of money and resources developing our current gear, and everything has been overhauled from the top down.
Gone were the leather vests and makeshift armor, and in their place was something on par, if not slightly better than what we all wore in the Origin Timeline, with the only real difference being the Grade of the gear.
While I was limited to Beta-Grade resources with a few Gamma pieces here and there, I replicated everything we had used to such an extent that visually, it was no different from our future gear.

All of our suits were form-fitting yet breathable, flexible, and, more importantly, comfortable. They were also extremely durable. While they couldn’t protect us much from, say, a nuclear blast, they could definitely make us resistant to just about anything the modern era had to offer, including any weapons under Beta Grade.
This included against Talent Attacks, considering all our suits were capable of absorbing our particles and strengthening our equipment further, meaning unless it was an attack approaching Gamma-Rank we were intercepting, the odds of us getting hurt were extremely slim.
Mind you, that didn’t account for consistent damage sustained in battle. Like anything else, our gear would wear down, and the more powerful an attack we dealt with, the more likely our equipment would get damaged.
Keeping that in mind, unless we were in, say, an all-out war or an extremely prolonged battle of attrition, we were pretty much the walking embodiment of the "tank" class, only in a tightly compressed and stylistic skin.
From oldest to youngest, Dad’s equipment was in two-piece brawler style. The Kevlar-Synthetic hide sleeveless undersuit was in deep blue, with silver accents. Covering his neck down to his feet, he had metallic glossed silver boots and shin guards, which would allow him to kick the hell out of things without feeling even a bit of shock.
But the blue suit wasn’t the highlight of his gear; instead, it was the form-fitting yet hefty metal breastplate. Covering his shoulders and collar gave him a modern gladiator feel, which was further accented by his gauntlets.
As his primary weapon, they were by far the most durable part of his loadout, as they used particles to focus the shockwaves he would create by punching.
The cherry on top of his metaphorical ice cream Sunday was his cowl. Seeing as it was part of his undersuit, Dad was able to pull it up over his head like a hoodie’s hood, and as per my usual standards, the lenses of the cowl were multi-functional.
It was a specification that all of our masks or cowls had; the lenses hid our eyes while having an array of different settings, from heat vision to acting like sunglasses.
Honestly, the Cowls and masks were my technological masterpieces, or at least they could be considered to be in this timeline.
Connections to the Communications Relay, teleportation array, and GPS tracking, the cowls were a technological advancement FAR beyond what should have been possible in the early 2000s. Yet, using tech from Arkadia and my previous knowledge, I was able to pull it off…though it took me several years to work out the finer details.
Looking away from Dad, who was stoic as always, my eyes fell on the pair of Brenden and Emilia.
Brenden’s armor was drastically different from what he had previously warned, and it was almost a spitting image of a mini version of his Hero suit. Bright Red, Blue, and Silver. If you look at Dad, you get the feeling he is more of an anti-hero, but when you look at my brother, there is no doubt he is a force for justice.
The bright red cape he wore turned into a tall flared collar and expanded out over his shoulders into multi-layered points.
His mask was unlike anyone elses in our group, molded perfectly to fit him; it covered his ears and chin but left his mouth and part of his face exposed and crested into a W-shape with each of the three points reaching up to his hairline and a bright sapphire diamond-shaped gem smack dab in the center.
His suit was all one piece with a silver utility belt, and apart from some of his face, not a single ounce of skin was showing; everything was covered by either his suit, gloves, or boots.
Frankly, if he were a bit older and didn’t have a pre-teen body, he would be indistinguishable from his adult self, only right now, he looked more like a sidekick playing hero than anything….or at least that was my opinion.
In contrast, Emilia was the physical embodiment of a Fantasy Mage, with a long, flowing, purplish grey cape with gold accents and a crimson inner seam on her cape; everything about her suit was more cloth than…well suit, apart from her spandex-ish pants.
Her outfit was multi-layered with several belts and different forms of protection, all of which served the purpose of storing excess particles that could be used at a later time during battle.
Unlike the rest of us, who tended to cover our eyes, Emilia’s mask was more Ninja-like, only covering her lower jaw and nose while leaving her eyes and forehead exposed.
The reason for this was that she didn’t need any outside assistance to hide her eye color or enhance her vision, as she could use her talent to form small barriers over them for both protection and enhanced vision.
Black, blue, cream, gold, and purplish-grey were her colors, and when she used her talent, it presented as a combination of Green, Yellow, and blue light.
The last piece of equipment she had were her gauntlets, which were generally covered by her long tapered sleeves but doubled as a storage space akin to our utility belts.
