The Call with General Farshar lasted all of 10 minutes, and it had been almost an hour since I disappeared into Gnarnia; with less than three hours remaining until the emergence of the first wave of players, I could no longer dawdle around in my workshop, so I walked into the teleporter room, topped off its energy supply and zapped myself back to my bedroom.

Exiting my bedroom, I walked back downstairs and found everyone around the TV, well, except Abuella, who was setting up to cook dinner for everyone.

’Have you calmed down now?’ My father asked without removing his eyes from the TV. Everyone knew the time for action was drawing closer, and I could tell from my brother and Xilia’s body posture they were ready to go at a moment’s notice.

’Yeah, and I just got off the phone with Farshar; I assume the media has been tracking the mobilization of war machines and are preaching doomsday prophecies?"

’As usual, they even have war reporters on the scene in flack jackets and helmets; it’s quite funny.’ He said while reclining on the couch in a comfortable position.

’Figures, anyway, ima knock out Paola and Abuella, everyone; it’s time to move, Brenden; call Emilia and tell her we are coming over.’ Glancing at my brother, I saw him nod before pulling out his cell phone and dialing his Wife…girlfriend…honestly I wasn’t sure what title to use for them, because technically right now they aren’t married, but her family thinks hes her boyfriend… It’s messy, but whatever. The two of them still act like a married couple; however, they don’t live together anymore; anything more that happens between them is private, so I don’t inquire.

Still, not living under the same roof is something I offered to remedy, but Emilia was adamant about not allowing me to use my talent on her parents and siblings frivolously.

’Sigh, I wish we had a better way to move Paola and her mother, but until the descent…’ My father mused, causing me to shake my head.

’Yeah, I know, Dad, but safe is safe, and if keeping them in stasis in the Medical Facility is the best way to do so, then that is what we should do.’ Shrugging my shoulders, I clapped my hands, drawing confused looks from Paola and Abuela.

’Psy-kinesis, you will sleep and won’t awaken until I wake you up.’ With icy blue, glowing eyes, I gently used coercion on the two before disappearing from my position and catching my unconscious Abuella while Dad caught Paola.

"Let’s go," with that said, I waited for my brother to finish talking to Emilia before the four of us summoned our masks and disappeared into Gnarnia.

10 Minutes later, Brenden and I appeared in a girly, pink and purple bedroom.

"JESUS, could you two give a girl some warning? What if I was changing!" Emilia screeched before launching herself into Brenden’s arms and kissing him.

"Sorry babe, you know how Tay is, always gogogo; we barely finished setting up Abuella and Paola in the Stasis tanks before heading over." Apologizing as he hugged his…fuck it, that’s still his Wife in my book, anyway, giving her a second hug, Brenden put the smaller girl down and smiled at her, causing the girl in question to shoot a glare at me, making me flinch and take a step back because I knew what she was about to say.

"Taylor Lawrence Jörgensen, you listen to me, so help me, god, if anything happens to my family while you do your little mind voodoo, I swear I will have your brother and father hold you down while I castrate you with a rusty carving knife." With hands on her hips and standing at an intimidating 5 foot nothing, the teenage Emilia growled, making a trickle of sweat run down my spine.

For what it’s worth, I have stared down dragons and thousands of enemies more times than I can count, I’ve been taunted, cursed, threatened, and maimed, and not once have I flinched, yet for some reason, Emilia freaked me out, maybe because I knew she didn’t make idle threats, or what have you, but that’s just how it was… an instinctual fear.

"I will use the utmost care; it’s either I use my talent, or we physically knock them out, you know that, Emi." Raising my hands as a sign of submission, I said what I could to quell the angry mama bear for a minute or two before she relented, and we set about rendering her mother, father, brother, and sister unconscious.

With Emilia carrying her mother and sister and Brenden carrying his father and brother-in-law, we teleported back to Gnarnia and brought them to the stasis capsules.

Since the last upgrade, we have obtained a total of 10 stasis capsules, all of which were fully equipped with automatons that would constantly check the status and life signs of their designated patients.

As it was the first time we were using so many of them, I went ahead and triple-checked that everything was in order before leaving an abundance of resources for the automatons to use; in this way, not only could we cure any ailments but also slowly acclimate everyone to particles in such a way that when Particles began flooding the earth, they would be completely adapted.

While I worked, I explained all this to everyone and got their approval before we finally left the medical facility and went to the second storage facility, where we kept all our battle supplies.

"Stock up on everything you need, don’t hold back; although I haven’t perfected the ratio to make a bunch of Beta-Grade Particle water, I have about 50 liters of it, so everyone gets 10 liters; use it sparingly and only in emergencies." Pulling out several large bottles, I handed everyone some Beta Water and moved around the warehouse, getting my own supplies.

Particle grenades, rope, Stamina and Health Potions, caltrops, spare weapons, basically anything I would potentially require during a combat mission or infiltration I picked up.

The most important item was a massive container filled with Beta Particle-infused dirt. Sure, I had some on hand, but this was what I would be storing within the pores of my new armor.

Thirty minutes later, everyone was geared up in their suits, fully loaded with supplies, and ready for the pre-mission briefing.
