SMACK
"When you put it like that…it makes some sense,"
SMACK
"Yeah, I tend to do that,"

"Um…Nexus, do you plan on stopping him any time soon?" Watching my brother smack his buddy relentlessly for a few seconds, Piniki felt the need to step in.

"Give it another couple of hits; if he doesn’t wake up, I’ll stop Marek; still, you gotta admit, with all that swelling, he kinda looks like a pig, can’t stop that work of art from being completed," I stated with a shrug as if I was unbothered watching Sonnasitc get his face disfigured by my frantic brother.

True to my word, after allowing two more hits, I caught my brother by the arm mid-strike and flung him away from Sonnasitc as if he weighed nothing, dumped half a High-Grade potion on the poor sap’s face, then opened his mouth and dumped what remained in.
Next, I brought out a little white stick, held it under the unconscious guy’s nose, and cracked it, and when Sonnasitc inhaled naturally, his eyes snapped open, and he was instantly on his feet, looking around with a mixture of fear and confusion.
"What, huh, where? Ow, what’s up with this crazy headache." Sonas complained while massaging his temples, then looked at Brenden and me for answers.
"Well, you can thank Marek for that one; he took the liberty of waking you up the hard way…by the way, probably avoid mirrors or anything reflective for a couple of minutes until that potion I gave you fixes your face.
"AH, WHAT THE FUDGE IS THAT! THOSE BRIGHT LIGHTS IN THE DISTANCE AND…." Partway through his little speech, Sonas froze and slowly turned around while trembling like a leaf.
’My guy, you’re in your 50’s why don’t you swear like the rest of us,’ I thought while rolling my eyes, but half a second later, I had to give the guy props because he understood what was happening without me saying anything.
"This is…a Mass Runic Inscription. Baby Barf Green light mixed with Bright Crimson…the red is like what happens when someone crushes an instance token, but that green…Undead?"

"WHAT? How the hell does he know what it’s called?" Brenden shouted thanks to his buddy, not calling it a Magic Circle like he had and even knowing what the colors represented.
"1 point, Sonas, 0 points, Marek, Piniki, did you recognize the same details Sonnasitc did?" Looking over my shoulder at the girl dressed in pink spandex, I asked, receiving a nod in response, which then caused Brenden to almost collapse on the ground for being the dumbest one here.
"Let me guess; you want to utilize my Talent to either brute force our way through the Inscription barrier or go up and over." Walking beside me and examining the Inscription barrier to my left, Sonas asked.
"Either or works. I’m a Geomancer, but with my current Rank, I’d be lucky to form a platform large enough and get it more than 25 feet off the ground, and that’s primarily us riding on a Geo-Wall. I don’t know the limit of your Talent at Alpha nor what skills you have, but since I have some Particle water, you can use it to charge up and give it a shot…catch."
At first, my words drew a surprised gasp from Sonas and Piniki, but when I brought out a full two-liter bottle filled with Alpha Grade water, a hint of awe and surprisingly flirtation entered Piniki’s eyes.
In contrast, when it came to Sonas, you’d think I shot the poor guy because the moment the bottle impacted his chest, he fell to the ground and shrieked.
"Quit being so damn dramatic, Sonas, it’s just Alpha water, even I have a bunch of it…wait, did you guys not enter Alpha ++ instances? Wow…kind of…"
"Not everyone is willing to throw their lives away by jumping into high-rank Instances while under-leveled and under-prepared Marek," Piniki intervened before Brenden could say anything dumber.
"Anyway, my initial plan was to build a platform, shoot us toward the sky with as much force as I can generate, and then have you blast us higher using your Talent…but if you believe you can open up a hole in the inscription, by all means, do that."
Very few things could cut through an Empowered Inscription Barrier; mainly, it has to be an intangible counterforce, such as IE lasers or something of the like. Basically, what I mean is Talent Skills that have some type of plasma form will be able to, at the very least, open up a small pocket before the Inscription heals itself, but the question is whether or not Sonas at A-Rank would be able to do so.
If my Geomancy was strong enough, I could probably build a four-sided horizontal tunnel through the barrier; however, for that, I’d need to have access to Gamma Particles at the lowest level, then it’s a matter of being able to reinforce the tunnel as its obliterated by the barrier constantly.
"That…may be possible…" Getting back to his feet, Sonas carefully opened the bottle and drank down a mouthful of Particle water, savoring it as if it were the nectar of the gods, and with that, his power shot through to the peak of Alpha-Rank, temporarily negating Earth’s Particle suppression.
"Nexus, can you tell me the characteristics of this Inscription Barrier…I may have been able to identify it, but you seem to know more." Sonas asked in an uncharacteristically mature manner, controlling his breathing and taking a typical boxing stance.
"Based on the particle density I am sensing and the makeup of the Empowerment, I have reason to believe this Inscription is between High Beta and Mid Gamma Grade in power. However, with us being on the outer fringes, I expect the particle density to be around the peak of Alpha."
"The barrier goes out of eyesight because of the clouds above, but when the funnel cloud appeared, I could see the top of the Inscription, roughly 180 feet; with that height, it needs a substantial density, leading me to believe the barrier is approximately 100 to 150 feet in thickness."
It was a massive wall of light, one hundred fifty feet in depth and 180 feet tall. Even if I charged every ounce of my PC into a Geo-Spike, at best, I could make it 10-15 feet through the barrier before my Spike dissolved.
