To cut a long story short, no, Vincent didn’t eat, maim, or torture the puppy; it was quite the opposite; in fact, from the moment we walked into his Condo, the man went into what I could only call "Dad mode," catering for little Schnitzel’s ever whim and want, spoiling it beyond anyone’s expectation, even my own.

Like I knew he liked animals, but what I witnessed was far from what any shrink or psychologist would acknowledge as something exhibited by a person projecting Sociopathic tendencies.

In the Origin Timeline, Harlow was a well-established sociopath and psychopath, yet the man fluttering around the house, playing with a small wiener dog, was a far cry from the monster I knew him to be.

Regardless of my thoughts, Renni was a nightmare to deal with the remainder of the time we were at the Condo. She would constantly look over her shoulder all night long to check on the puppy’s status.

No matter how much I attempted to appease the girl, nor how gentle and kind Vincent was acting, it wasn’t nearly enough to quell the anxiety she seemed to have.

Eventually, I grew tired of her annoying complaining, and with another decisive chop to her neck, I knocked her out for the remainder of the night.

---

By the time the sun rose the next morning, I was up on my feet and pacing around the living room, the reason being that Renni was sticking to the stereotype we all had heard or experienced at one time or another.

Updated from freewёbnoνel.com.

Be it our mothers, sisters, or spouses, we all had a woman in our lives at some point; thus, we should all know about the dreaded wait time that comes along with "getting ready," why would I ever believe it would be any different?

After around 45 minutes of waiting, I grew impatient, and with a swift attack, I kicked in the bathroom door, where Renni stood in only a bath towel covering her body and a second one her hair. On her face was a mixture of moisturizers and exfoliating gel.

"EEEK, XIPHER WHAT THE HELL?" Shocked and frightened by my sudden kicking in of the bathroom door, Renni screeched and covered her body as if trying to hide the towel from my eyes.

"Bitch, you have been in here nearly an hour; if you don’t hurry the fuck up, you won’t have to worry about Vincent killing the puppy because I will gut, skin, and hang it in front of your face, NOW GET A FUCKING MOVE ON!"

SLAM

Spinning on my heels, I grabbed the door nob and, with enough force to shake the Condo, slammed it behind me as I stormed into the kitchen, where I found a concerned and fearful Vincent cradling his little Nelly in his arms.

"You...Milord, you wouldn’t really hurt her….right?" Unsure about whether or not it was okay to question my actions if it was for his darling Schnitzel, he would, at the very least, present the question to me.

"That’s not for me to decide, Vincent, if Xilia takes longer than 10 minutes…." Bringing up my right hand, I dragged my thumb across my throat in the universal motion representing killing, causing Vincent to shiver.

"If…if…if that is what Milord wishes, although I would be sad to lose her after only just bringing her into my life…so be it."

’Dude…it was a joke; I’m not going to kill the fucking puppy,’ I thought while rolling my eyes and sitting down at the table to destroy some eggs and bacon.

Not even a full two minutes later, Renni came storming out of the bathroom, her hair neatly done and wearing a sporty pink outfit. Her eyes were another story altogether as they rapidly scanned for the puppy, and when she saw the sad look on Vincent’s face, she nearly had a mental breakdown.

"One minute 38 seconds, see if you had been that quick earlier, I wouldn’t have had to incentivize you to move that ass of yours." Turning around with a strip of bacon poking out of my mouth, I motioned to Vincent as if saying hand over the puppy, to which he regretfully obliged.

It wasn’t like he could go against my orders, and although I hadn’t confirmed his question pertaining to the puppy, he still handed her over obediently.

Taking the small creature in my arms, I began petting her small, fragile head until she opened her eyes and looked up at me, a signal to Renni that she was still alive, but it didn’t serve to calm her down at all.

No, instead, it spiked her anxiety to no end, and she slowly stepped toward me.

"Xi…Lord Xipher, I apologize for taking so long to get ready, but please don’t harm defenseless, adorable little Nelly; she hasn’t done anything wrong, and if you wish to punish someone, please punish me instead."

"Oh, for fuck sake, I’m not going to hurt the fucking dog, you idiots; it was an empty threat," rolling my eyes, I broke off a piece of the bacon sticking out of my mouth and offered it to Schnitzel, who happily snapped it up before getting comfortable in my lap.

At my statement, both Renni and Vincent exhaled the breath they had been unknowingly holding, and Renni even joined us at the table.

"You two need to loosen up a bit, anyway; if you weren’t so damn annoying all the time Xilia, I wouldn’t have to ambush you with things such as wounding small animals; however, it does please me that you believe I would and COULD do it."

"Anyway, hurry up and eat; we have a 40-minute drive back to Munich and then a plane to catch. Oh, and Vincent, I have left you a notebook filled with detailed instructions, a do and don’ts list of sorts that you can but don’t have to abide by."

"They are merely my thoughts and a few strategies for avoiding detection. Do with them what you will, but after we leave, it will be some time before we will be in contact again, so you will basically be on your own from here on out."
