"I don’t really know where to begin; well, I guess I can start by saying I’ve never encountered anyone with a talent remotely close to mine," Renni stated as she saw me come out of the closet with my hands behind my back.

"How so? Like I understand that no two Talents are exactly the same, but what separates yours from any other?" Stopping a foot away from Renni, I pulled out two foldable chairs from my inventory and handed one to her before unfolding mine and sitting down for the conversation.

"Well…my Talent is called Tangential Conduit, and its name is a pretty good representation of what it does." Mimicking my actions, Renni sat down on her chair and looked me in my eyes.

"Tangential as in touching slightly, or incidentally, conduit as in well…conducting, hold are you saying that your Talent is able to mimic or copy others so long as specific conditions are met?"

"Precisely…" Renni flinched slightly at how easily I deduced her Talent based solely on its name alone.

"Explain," although surprised by her Talent, if I had learned anything over the years, it would have been that talents could be anything you could imagine them to be, and those talents took after their owners.

There were millions of different theories about what dictated a person’s Talent, and the only ones that seemed to make any sense revolved around the personality traits of a person.

For example, a good majority of Pyromaniacs seemed to develop talents revolving around and involving fire. In my case, I had always excessively used my mind, so it wasn’t too shocking that my Talent was what it was.

However, for Renni to receive a Talent that could copy others, that would mean one of two things: one, she had multiple personalities, which I could assure she didn’t and found highly unlikely to begin with, or she was VERY good at mimicking other people.

"My Talent is multifaceted and both useless and extremely useful depending on the situation. The first condition is that I must be knowledgeable about a person’s Talent, and the second is that I must have come under the effect of it directly, such as being subjected to or attacked by a talent skill." As she spoke, Renni held up her hand and manifested an inky black orb.

"Depending on my Rank and knowledge, I will have access to a certain number of Talent Skills pertaining to the copied Talent; for a Non-Rank, I only have access to at most 2 Talents and one skill each, with the number increasing by one every rank."

"So right now you have a Shadow Based Talent, with a stealth skill; that was how you were able to sneak into my room without alerting me; even so, it must be a damn good stealth skill to completely hide your presence, sound, smell, and effect on your surroundings." As I got to the end of my statement, I found an inconsistency in her story and interjected before she could continue.

"If you need to be hit or affected by the Talent, how is it you already have access to that Shadow Talent…I see…you must have either carried it over from the Origin Timeline, earned it as a reward, or….came in contact with a Returner already. So which is it."

"The first, I was able to carry over not one but two of my copied talents from the Fu…Origin Timeline, along with my Racial Classification, but that was all; there were no other added benefits." Dispersing the collection of shadows that had transformed from an orb to a faint mist, Renni brought up her second copied Talent, or rather; her body began twitching and enlarging.

"The Second one is a Super Strength Talent, and that one is pretty self-explanatory."

As I had seen her use it to beef up her bicep yesterday, I didn’t delve further into her second Copied Talent.

"So let me get this straight: you have two Copied Talents, Super Strength, which augments your Physical Offense Stat, and Shadow Talent, which only has a stealth skill, interesting and extremely useful given that apart from a wandering Returner here or there, the majority of what you will deal with in the foreseeable future will be regular Non-Particle Affected Normies." Nodding my head, I remembered the reason I had asked her about this topic in the first place.

"But that still doesn’t explain why you didn’t want me washing your memories." When I said this, Renni stiffened for a moment before smiling wryly.

"I mean, isn’t it pretty normal not to want someone messing around with your brain…but that fact aside, I was worried that if you wiped some of my memories, I would lose not only the progress I had made with my current Copied Talents, but the use of them entirely."

"Ah…so they are that deeply rooted to your memories, I see, then that makes sense…I suppose, regardless of this new information, I will need to adjust my plans slightly; it seems you won’t be staying here in the UK for long." Nodding twice, I stood up and stored my chair away before swiping Renni’s as well, causing her to fall onto her butt again.

"HEY! Would it kill you to treat a lady with a little more care?" She cried before jumping up and glaring at me again.

"Lady? All I see is a little brat who wears too much pink," with a sniffle, I rolled my eyes and walked out of the room, leaving Renni standing there with her cheeks puffed out in a pouty expression.

The moment I opened the door to the master bedroom, I saw Vincent standing at attention and wearing a pristine and perfect suit.

"Good morning, Young Master," giving a slight bow of acknowledgment, Vincent was quick to greet me professionally, causing me to look at him with narrowed eyes.

"I see you have fallen into your Butler role a little too well, Vincent, but don’t get too comfortable in it, as you will soon return to being a Doctor again,"

"As you wish, Young Master. Shall I ready breakfast for you and the young mistress?"

"COUGH! WHOSE A MISTRESS!" The choked cough and screeching behind me nearly made me burst out in laughter, but I buried it and nodded at Vincent before watching him hurry off to prepare my meal.
