"AH, Milord, what happened…the train’s not moving. Did I fall asleep?" Shooting up and rubbing the spot I smacked, Vincent looked around with confused eyes.

’Listen carefully; our plans have changed slightly, and I will need to make the proper accommodations; it’s time we hit the ground running, so we won’t be stopping to rest for the next few days; keep up, and obey my orders.’

Getting off my train seat, I scooped up my dagger off the ground where the inspector had dropped it and shoved it into my inventory before putting it on my back and walking towards the door.

’The ball is in your court, Slater; let’s see if you are still suspicious or if I did a good enough job of throwing you off my case.’ Scanning my surroundings as I stepped off the train, I caught sight of Inspector Slater off on the other side of the Station with a group of other police officers, and as if sensing my gaze, he turned in my direction and nodded before going back to his conversation.

’Well, I guess that’s that, for now at least, I need to hurry up and find a place to use as a base camp…I hate to do it, though, because there are far too many working pieces in play here…. and I’ll need to forge a new on-paper identity for Vincent, but that can wait until we arrive in Munich.’

’Sigh, so much to do, and too little time to do it all, fuck this is annoying.’ Gritting my teeth, I swapped places with Vincent as he took the lead to find us a car to "go home" in, and as expected, the moment we got into the luxury sedan, I noticed the presence of a tail.

A quick observation by way of my extended perception allowed me to notice the two officers sitting in an unmarked car that was two cars behind ours as we drove off from the train station.

’Heh, ok, logically speaking, the odds are the Inspector just wants to make sure we made it home in one piece, but my hyper-analytical brain refuses to allow me to accept this at face value.’

Leaning forward, I tapped on the shoulder of our driver and used my Talent to Cheer him into driving us to an affluent neighborhood filled with large, old, and expensive mansions. Luckily enough, he knew the perfect place, a gated community with tight security, as a few celebrities happened to live there.

Hiding my twisted smile as we pulled up to the security box with four guards who constantly monitored the going ons of the community, I told the driver to pull up to the drive-through meant for residents and stop.

Following my command, the Guard monitoring the gate itself frowned before stepping up to the car, but as I rolled down my window and he looked into my eyes, I instantly activated my Talent and Coersion Skill.

’My butler and I are returning from a long trip; you know us both very well, Butler Vincent and Young Master Calvin Jetson of the Jetson family, and easily recognize us as our family has been residents of this community for decades. Welcome us both home and wave us through the gate.’

The 52-word command caused my body to shiver as I pumped three times the PC I usually used into the command, and as such, my nose began to drip blood, and I fell backward into the leather seats of the town car.

"Ah, if it isn’t Young Master Jetson and his head butler, I see you are tired after your trip; welcome home!" with as much enthusiasm as he could muster, the Guard put on a bright smile and motioned for the Guard in charge of opening and closing the gate to open it up.

The moment the gate swung open, the driver pulled through, and using the side mirrors of the car, I watched the massive gate close right as the undercover police car made a U-turn and left.

Seeing this, I exhaled shakily, pulled out a half-full bottle of Particle water, and downed it in one gulp.

’Fuck, ok, well, at least that proves one thing, the fact that those cops turned around and didn’t try to enter is enough evidence that their only job was to make sure we made it back home safely. Still, I don’t doubt they will run back to Slater and tell him about the neighborhood I "live in," so I guess I should probably find a house here.

"Drive around until I find a house suitable for my needs. I will inform you when you can pull into the property I have chosen." From my reclined position, I vocalized my order to the driver, who absent-mindedly nodded before giving me a tour of the large living community.

From my observations, I could tell that each Mansion seemed to be between 50 and 150 years old, which was both a good and a bad thing, as it meant the families who lived there had been established for some time.

However, since my plan was never to buy whatever house I found that was for sale, I still took a moment to examine each one of the over 50 mansions in the large neighborhood until I finally found one that fit my tastes.

Positioned atop a small hill and surrounded by several acres of land with a massive gate and wall around it was a home I estimated to be around 80 years old, and judging by the expensive cars parked in the long cobblestone driveway, I had a feeling that the family who lived here was loaded with cash.

Voicing my decision on the house, I had the driver pull up to the gate, wherein he leaned forward to press the call button. A few seconds later, the voice of a young man came through the intercom system.

"Hello? How can I help you?" the voice asked while I whispered what to say to the driver.

"Um, yes, I have a delivery here. Can you please let me in so that I can drop it off? I have eight more after, and I am hard-pressed on time."

"A delivery? Uh, sure, give me a moment to open the gate."
