{The single chosen skill will be able to grow and strengthen just like any other Talent Skill; however, as it will be one of the Talent’s original base skills, it will have a finite amount of power that it can utilize.}

{One final note: the XP required to upgrade both your Talent Rank and Skill Attainment will be increased by a factor of 5, and any boosters, such as the one obtained by way of an Elixir, will not apply to your second Talent.}

To say I was a bit underwhelmed by Arkadia’s restrictions on the new Talent would be an understatement, as they practically neutered any chance of the new Talent being overpowered.

When I first read that the new Talent would match my current Psy-Kinesis’s Omega Upgradeable potential, I was excited to gain a powerful offense or defensive weapon; however, the dark cloud named Arkadia decided to take a giant steaming dump on my head.

By locking the Talent down with a single skill, although I would have a new tool in my arsenal unless I were given an elemental Talent, I was basically in for a mediocre option…then again, there was a saying that could be applied to this situation.

There are no weak talents, only weak-minded people wielding them. With that thought in mind, I accessed my Imaginary library to peruse through all the known Talents I had come in contact with or researched in the Origin Timeline, along with a list of their Starting Skills.

"Hope isn’t entirely lost. I’m sure I can figure out some way to turn whatever I get into a useful tool…I only hope it isn’t something lame like that Meltman guy…who only had the power to melt himself like candle wax."

Leaving my Imaginary Library, I opened my eyes and found myself sitting on the edge of the small lake’s bank with the token in my hand.

"Guess there’s no time like the present; at least I now have the Training room, so even if it’s a shit talent requiring a hard grind, I should be able to pull off making it stronger with enough time." With that final thought, I crushed the token and watched thousands of small light orbs explode forth from my hand before slamming into my body like a tidal wave.

The sudden explosion of light caused me to flinch at first, yet it was the wave of nausea and headache that caused me to grimace and grunt in annoyance.

After nausea and the headache came a feeling not unlike my blood being boiled, as it felt as if someone had injected molten lava into my veins, replacing my blood, and my first instinct was…

’Hell yeah, A FIRE TYPE TALENT!’ Strangely enough, even though I was being put through hell, something in the back of my head was telling me to open my System Panel, and as someone who always follows his gut intuition, I followed suit only to find a carnival-style wheel spinning on the screen.

Unfortunately, as the wheel was moving too quickly and filled with millions of tiny lines of text, I couldn’t read a single option. However, still, the burning sensations racking my body were making me lean toward something fire-related.

That was when something strange happened in my body; from scorching hot, my blood instantly became frigid cold, causing my excited smirk to become a confused frown.

’I guess it’s not fire, but instead ice…no, wait…OW!’ My frown then morphed into a grimace as I clicked my tongue and tried to ignore the sharp pains zipping through my body as if I were being struck by lightning.

By this point, I was thoroughly confused, as the pain I was being subjected to flowed through the full spectrum, from fire to ice, then lightning, and a wet sensation like water; I went through it all until I finally gave up and robotically watched the wheel spin.

In response to my resignation, Arkadia apparently decided to stop harassing me with different aches and pains and instead flashed a rainbow of colored lights before slowing down the wheel’s spin until finally, after what felt like a lifetime, the tiny needle landed on a single choice.

{Congratulations, you have rolled the Talent: Geomancy}

{As this Talent is under several restrictions, please choose one of the following Basic Skills to be locked as your Permanent choice.}

{Option 1: Geo-Spike}

{Option 2: Geo-Bullet}

{Option 3: Geo-Wall}

{Option 4: Geo-Skin}

{Option 5: Earthen Fortress}

"..." for a solid five minutes, I stared blankly at the system panel in total silence. Not because I was upset or confused but because my mind was RACING in an attempt to figure out which of the five options was the best fit for my Combat Toolbox.

For starters, my new Talent, Geomancy, was already a severely restricted classification due in part to it being designated as a Mancy vs a Kinesis.

Although the two types shared similarities, they had a very big difference.

Mancers, such as Pyromancer or Cryomancers, were considered flawed and powerful at the same time. It was subjective and conditional at best, considering a Mancer couldn’t summon or manifest their element.

Instead, they took control of what already existed; for example, let’s use Pyromancy. Every single one I had fought in the past carried a lighter, the reason being they could take control of the flame it emitted and bend it to their will.

Whereas if it were a PyroKinetic, they could create, generate, or manifest their own flames.

And then there are the freaks of nature like that Wyrm I killed, who could do both Mancy and Kinesis; some races just have it easier.

The fact that I was now considered a Geomancer wasn’t lost on me, as I fully understood the benefits as well as the negative aspects of the Talent.

Of the five available options, number five was immediately tossed away as it was something that took too much time and Mana to be useful in a fight for me.
