’The biggest issue has been dealt with; without the ability to constantly draw in Particles by way of its second heart, the Wyrm is nothing but a hulking mass of muscle with a few extra pointy bits.’ I thought while dancing around the lackluster, and few skills launched in my direction.

My goal was simple: bide time until the combination of blood loss and particle poisoning came into effect. By puncturing the Particle Heart, I had caused irreparable damage. The instant my blade entered its body, I made sure to wreak havoc inside, eviscerating the organ that made dragon species so powerful.

The Second Heart of any draconic species was generally the most important part of their body, as it was the means of both passively drawing in and filtering particles. They would usually go to great lengths to protect it, as it was the main thing that separated them from the lower beings in their eyes.

Sure, one could argue that their great recuperation and recovery skills should be more than enough to mitigate the damage I had caused. Frankly, had I targeted any other organ, they would have been correct; however, since it WAS the second heart I had targeted, that whole area was practically unhealable unless they had a member of the Teal Draconic Species nearby.

Since Teal Dragonic races were the all-purpose healers, I didn’t doubt that they could patch the poor sap up relatively quickly; luckily, that wasn’t the case, and as the minutes ticked by, I noticed the first hints of fatigue setting in on the monster, as its frantic and bloodshot eyes followed my every movement.

Even so, physical damage aside, there was another budding issue cropping up, and that was the constant spewing of unfiltered particles into the Wyrm’s system.

Just like how a water filter purifies and cleans dirty water, the Particle Heart had a similar function, and since it was always "turned on," in a sense, that meant giving all 2C and higher Draconoid Species theoretical unlimited PC.

Now, what would happen if the vital organ was ruptured or, better yet, eviscerated as I had done?

Damaging the fragile organ was like poking a hole in a being’s bowel, allowing all manner of filth to spew out through their system, thus my mentioning of Particle Poisoning.

It wouldn’t take long for the wound to fester and spread like an infection, greatly hastening the monster’s deterioration. Following the earlier analogy, "Dirty Water" infiltrated its bloodstream, contaminating its already dwindling blood supply.

Not to mention the excruciating levels of pain it must be feeling, the pitiful Wyrm was clearly mentally destabilized as it thrashed about, burning away what little time it had left to live.

Meanwhile, I, on the other hand, was in peak physical condition thanks to a multitude of different potions, from stamina to particle pots; I was brimming with energy and easily avoiding any attacks that came my way, much to the frustration of the behemoth across the cavern.

Approximately two hours into our battle, I caught sight of muscle spasms running up and down the length of the Wyrm’s body, partnered with its labored breathing, and I knew the time was upon me.

Coming out of the autopilot state I had been in since delivering the first strike, my legs surged with energy as I rushed forward, swapped my sword and dagger, cocked back my left arm, and launched my cracked sword as if it were a javelin.

Fwooosssh BOOOOM

In a violent shower of sparks and blood, my sword not only hit its mark, the beast’s weary and tired eye, but it also shattered into molten hot fragments of metal as the sword practically disintegrated on impact.

For a moment, the cavern fell deathly silent as I skidded to a stop, eyes trained on the Wyrm, and time seemed to slow down as the molten shards bounced around the inside of the monster’s head, obliterating its brain and causing an insane amount of damage inside of its skull.

Then, after what felt like an eternity, a rush of energy coursed through my body simultaneously with the loud, meaty thud of a dead, draconic monster crashing into the rocky cavern floor.

Closing my eyes, I didn’t utter a word as I felt the changes running through my body. It was as if the floodgates had opened, allowing a surge of stormy water to rush through a winding canyon.

My calculations were spot on; killing the 2C Beta-Ranked Wyrm had netted me plenty of XP, pushing me to the pinnacle of No-Rank, Level Five.

It was a feeling like no other; the first time I had experienced it in the origin timeline, I felt on top of the world, unstoppable and invincible, as was expected when one stepped out of the general populous of Earth and into the Rankers territory; however, reality said otherwise, as by the point I stepped into the Alpha-Rank back then, many had already reached the Beta-Rank.

While I was learning how to walk, others, especially those from the Myriad Races, were already sprinting like wild cheetahs on the open Savanah.

And it didn’t take long for my once proud achievement to turn me into a laughing stock. But things were different this time; with less than a thousand people in the past alongside me, I was technically in the top percentile, or at least that was my theory.

However, their Level Five and mine were two entirely different stories altogether, and on a fundamental level, I could feel it. Being level 5 as a 6C was VASTLY different from what I had experienced as a Basic Human. It was so much so that it was like comparing heaven and hell, polar opposites.

Slowly opening my eyes, I looked at my hands while opening and closing them in confusion. I couldn’t put my finger on it, but something was off, well, not off per se, but definitely different.

It had been years since I reached the peak of Non-Rank in the Origin Timeline, but even so, with my perfect memory, I should have easily been able to spot any significant changes in the process, yet I couldn’t.
