Chapter 223: Chapter 223: Beginning a Safe Pregnancy

「Inside the Rebel Army base.」

Lord Red shot to his feet, and the Bone Hourglass slipped from his palm, crashing to the floor with a BANG.

A crazed joy surged in his purple eyes.

"Perfect. Absolutely perfect! The Divine Fetus’s blood is the final piece of the puzzle for the King Blood Beast!"

He suddenly raised his voice. "Retreat immediately."

Louis’s fangs ground together with a sharp GRIND.

"Retreat now? We’re only one step away from victory."

"Idiot!"

Lord Red’s fingertip slid across the unconscious figure of Su An’an on the Light Screen, his voice laced with venom.

"If you so much as harm the Divine Fetus, I’ll let you experience what it feels like to have Blood Erosion Spores gnaw on your bones."

Louis let out a resentful roar but could only slam the retreat button.

The beast horde retreated like a receding tide, leaving a scene of utter devastation behind.

Louis sprinted back to the Rebel Army’s core laboratory, his crimson pupils fixed on Lord Red, who was dressed in a white lab coat.

"Why did we retreat? We could have razed Zone B1 to the ground!"

Lord Red didn’t even look up. He toyed with a malformed monster floating in a cultivation tank, his tone icy.

"Because you’re an idiot."

"What do you mean by that?" Louis gritted his teeth.

"See for yourself."

Lord Red abruptly projected a Light Screen. On it, the Golden Light on Su An’an’s abdomen was slowly fading.

"If the Divine Fetus is damaged in the slightest, the King Blood Beast project, a century in the making, will be completely ruined."

He turned around, the corners of his mouth beneath the Evil Ghost Mask curling into a cold sneer.

"The Divine Fetus must live."

Louis’s fangs ground together with a sharp GRIND.

"Then let’s capture her and keep her until she gives birth!"

Lord Red gently tapped his finger on the cultivation tank. Inside the glass enclosure, the malformed monster suddenly began to convulse violently.

"Do you know why the monsters we create can only last six months at most before going berserk and self-destructing?"

He raised his hand and brought up a Light Screen. Amidst a dense stream of data, red warning boxes flashed frantically.

Just as Louis was about to speak, Lord Red grabbed him by the throat, his cold knuckles digging into the gaps between his scales.

"Because they’re missing something."

Greed swirled in his purple eyes. "And that something can only be provided by the Divine Fetus in Su An’an’s womb."

BANG!

The cultivation tank suddenly exploded, splattering Louis’s face with a bloody mist from the detonated monster.

He wiped the bloody foam from his face, his voice trembling.

"How could Su An’an be pregnant with this kind of child? Could she really be the legendary Divine Female?"

"Perhaps. Or maybe she just got shit-lucky."

Lord Red leisurely wiped his gloves, then crushed a nearby test tube between his fingers.

"But none of that matters. I want them both, mother and child."

He suddenly looked up, his purple eyes scanning a list on the Light Screen.

"What does Su An’an need most right now?"

A masked man emerged from the shadows, his voice like rubbing sandpaper.

"A medical team. The one led by ’Bai Ge,’ which specializes in delivering the Empire Royal Family’s offspring."

"Excellent."

Lord Red pushed a chip forward, its metal surface glinting with a cold light.

"Have Bai Ge check on the Divine Fetus’s condition and report back promptly."

The moment the masked man took the chip, a profile popped up on the Light Screen.

In the photo, a female doctor with a full head of silver hair smiled with gentle kindness.

Her white coat was spotless, but a strange glint flashed in her eyes.

"I disagree!"

Louis slammed his hand on the table, his fangs piercing his lower lip.

"These petty tricks are useless! Give me a Frenzy Agent, and I’ll go tear that trash Seville and his cronies to shreds right now!"

Lord Red didn’t look up. "You can’t even touch Seville’s Golden Wings."

"That’s only because you insisted on taking them alive!"

Louis’s beast-like eyes turned red with fury. "If you let me go all out, I can..."

SWISH!

A Light Blade suddenly pressed against his throat. The searing Energy made his scales sizzle.

Lord Red’s voice was as cold as ice.

"If you dare act on your own again, I’ll throw you into the Genetic Furnace."

"I’ll turn you into the same kind of thing as that monster just now."

Louis’s fangs ground together, but ultimately, he said no more.

In the shadows, the masked man had already slipped away silently, the chip in his palm emitting a faint blue glow.

「In the B1 medical room, soft light washed over Su An’an’s pale cheeks.」

Alita’s hand hovered over Su An’an’s abdomen, her fingertips trembling slightly.

"You... How could you!"

She suddenly grabbed her sister by the collar, tears falling onto Su An’an’s face with a SPLAT.

"Hiding it from me is one thing! But how dare you go into a fight while pregnant?!"

Su An’an weakly curled her lips into a smile. "You’re so ugly when you cry, Sis!"

"Shut up!"

Alita buried her face in her shoulder, her voice muffled.

"If there’s a next time, I’m tying you to the bed until you give birth!"

Seville’s Golden Wings twitched slightly as he earnestly wrote in his memo: *Procure top-grade restraints.*

Ying Jiuyao gave Alita a thumbs-up. "One hundred percent agree!"

Night Abyss, his face cold, brought up a Light Screen. "The cause of the Gang Vine Wall’s destruction has been determined."

He tapped a 3D diagram with his Long Zhua. "Blood Spores were mixed into the construction materials. They’ve all been cleared out. From now on, I will personally oversee the inspection of all building materials."

Lan Cangming silently handed her a chilled fruit juice. "Your body temperature is a little high. Drink this."

Fei Zhao’s nine fox tails fanned out behind him, one of them curling around a book of fairy tales as he moved closer.

"I’ve learned a new Fetus Protection Illusion Technique! I’ll read to you from now on!"

"I’ve already had the Empire’s best medical team come over,"

Alita said, wiping her tears. "They’ll be here in half an hour."

Su An’an frowned. "There’s no need to make such a big fuss."

"It’s not up to you!"

Alita glared. "The one leading the team is Doctor Bai Ge. Every royal offspring she’s delivered has been perfectly healthy."

She sat down on the edge of the bed and gently poked Su An’an’s belly. "This little one is far more precious than any royal bloodline."

「Half an hour later.」

Lan Cangming pushed the door open and came in, holding a medical report.

"Doctor Bai Ge’s ship has docked. She said she wanted to come over early to check out the environment."

He handed the report to Seville, then brought Su An’an a glass of warm milk.

"Drink this before bed. It will help you relax."

The words had barely left his mouth when the doors to the medical room slid open.

An older female dressed in a white lab coat walked in.

Her silver-gray, curly hair was draped over her shoulders, and her gaze was full of affection as it fell upon Su An’an.

"I hear Your Grace Duke Su’s little one is quite mischievous. Has the Female Mother been having a hard time?"

Su An’an was taken aback and was about to speak when Seville cut in.

"The baby moved three times today. Is there anything we should be concerned about?"

For once, his amber pupils held no trace of arrogance, only cautious anxiety.

Doctor Bai Ge smiled and waved her hand, signaling for the Five Great Beast Husbands to give her some space.

"Let’s start with a routine check-up. The little one may be strong, but the mother’s body still needs to be carefully protected."

She took out a scanner, her eyes sweeping over Seville’s tense Golden Wings and Ying Jiuyao’s twitching tiger claws, and suddenly she smiled.

"It seems the little one’s fathers are even more nervous than the Female Mother!"

The scanner of the medical bay emitted a final, soft BEEP.

Doctor Bai Ge removed her stethoscope, folded the report, and handed it to Seville.

"The mother’s condition is stable, and the little one is very energetic. Just make sure she avoids any strenuous activity."

She patted the back of Su An’an’s hand, her silver-gray curls catching the light with a soft glow.

"Just focus on resting. I’m here now."

Just as Su An’an was about to thank her, she saw Doctor Bai Ge turn to leave.

A faint blue glow was faintly visible through the pocket of her white coat, as if something was pressing against the fabric from inside.
