Chapter 2149: Chapter 2149: Nathalie the Goddess from Our Family Didn’t Even Want Mine, Outsiders Definitely Can’t Cut in Line
The Kingsley Family received an invitation from Marcella Davidson, and Yuni naturally knew about Marcella’s desire to have Nathalie Quinlan as her goddaughter. Yuni was not a person lacking intelligence, and that’s why she could hold the position of Mrs. Kingsley.
Yuni reacted extremely quickly and immediately grasped the meaning behind her son’s words.
After a moment of shock, she immediately pulled a stern face, her sharp eyes turning towards Mrs. Davidson, Mr. Davidson, and Leony Davidson among others, fuming with anger: "Who taught you to do this?!"
Mrs. Davidson, Mr. Davidson, and Leony Davidson hadn’t expected Jaycent Kingsley to expose their little scheme so blatantly, and they were left standing awkwardly, unsure of how to refute.
Yuni was so angry she saw stars, clutching her head, almost fainting from the exasperation they caused her.
She took out her phone and made to leave: "I’m going to call Marcella and tell them not to come."
"Stop right there!" The old lady saw her carefully orchestrated drama about to end before it even began. She hurriedly sat up, but the movement was too much and it strained her chest, causing a sharp pain in her lungs. The old lady couldn’t take the shock; bracing herself against the headrest, she began to cough violently: "Cough cough, come back, cough, are you trying to infuriate me to death?"
"Mom." Yuni saw that she wasn’t pretending, and though she was angry, she couldn’t possibly force her own mother to death.
In her urgency, she called Jaycent to hurry and find a doctor.
She then put down her phone and quickly returned to the bedside to help the old lady catch her breath.
Mr. Davidson and Mrs. Davidson let out a sigh of relief and quickly gathered around to try to make a good impression.
Jaycent, seeing the chaos inside the ward, felt overwhelmed and helplessly went out to call a doctor, while also finding a chance to send a message to Nathalie.
*
Outside the hospital.
Nathalie Quinlan’s car had just arrived.
Amadeus Yancey brought the car to a steady stop and watched as the girl beside him unbuckled her seatbelt to get out, concerned he asked, "Do you want me to go with you?"
Nathalie paused her hand on the seatbelt, raising an eyebrow.
Sadam Vinson in the back, without any reservations, spoke openly: "Yeah, Nathalie. I think Mrs. Davidson’s ’fainting’ was too convenient; why don’t you let Amadeus accompany you in?"
Nathalie had already unbuckled her seatbelt, opened the car door with one hand, turned back, her delicate, eye-catching face under the brim of her hat was quite arrogant and wild. Her voice was low and husky: "No need. Their aim is nothing but one, I know it well. I came just in case; in case the old lady is really sick, I can lend a hand; that’s all there is to it."
"You..." Amadeus, knowing her quite well, curled his thin lips and was about to speak.
Nathalie glanced over at him with her beautiful eyes, and as their eyes met, they both knew what the other was thinking.
Nathalie candidly admitted: "If things are really as I think, then at worst I’ll clear things up. After all, I’m not after what they can offer."
Amadeus chuckled.
His hand rested on the steering wheel, adopting a rather carefree pose, he murmured lazily: "Our Nathalie the Goddess hasn’t even taken much of my stuff; it’s truly not their place to cut in line."
He referred to those people in the Davidson Family who assumed Nathalie was coveting Marcella’s connections and wealth, thus agreeing to Marcella’s kin offer.
In reality, he knew very well that Nathalie didn’t care about those things at all.
If she had wanted them, she wouldn’t need outsiders to provide them; the Yancey Family, Silvania Ingram, Shawn Norton, Master Cadmus, there are so many people lined up wishing Nathalie to inherit their legacy.
Marcella managed to convince Nathalie this time entirely relying on a photo of Lynette Kingsley.
Otherwise, Nathalie would most likely not have agreed to attend this meal.
Yet some people in the Davidson Family failed to appreciate this, insisting on ruining this stroke of luck.
