Chapter 2148: Chapter 2148: Or Is It That You Insist on Having Aunt Come Over?

The banquet was nearing its end, and many people had already left.

Kenzie Nabours made some arrangements.

Nathalie Quinlan went over to say a word to Amadeus Yancey.

The group then rushed to the hospital.

In the hospital room, an elderly lady in her sixties lay weakly on the bed, while Leony Davidson was covering her with a blanket.

The old lady was about the same age as Mrs. Sullivan, with graying hair, but she was better maintained, revealing a life of luxury and pampering.

After covering the old lady properly, Leony Davidson reached out to pat her hand, seemingly to comfort her.

Soon after.

Yuni Davidson and Jaycent Kingsley arrived first.

Yuni Davidson burst directly into the ward. Upon seeing the elderly on the bed, she anxiously called out, "Mom."

Jaycent Kingsley entered a step behind her. He saw Mrs. Davidson lying on the bed with her pale yet spirited face and paused momentarily before following suit in greeting, "Grandma."

The two of them came in one after the other.

Yuni didn’t notice that although Mrs. Davidson looked weak, her eyes remained brightly spirited. She went straight to the bedside to visit before turning back, nearly biting her lips off in impatience as she asked Mrs. Davidson and Mr. Davidson, "What did the doctor say? What’s wrong with my mom? Her health has always been robust, how did she faint? Did you get her examined?"

She asked several questions in rapid succession, clearly angry and insinuating that Mrs. Davidson and Mr. Davidson didn’t take proper care of the elderly at home.

Mrs. Davidson hadn’t opened her mouth to explain yet.

Suddenly, the old lady on the bed called Yuni’s name, "Yuni."

She struggled to sit up but started coughing as if she couldn’t muster enough strength.

Frightened, Yuni refrained from confronting Mrs. Davidson and Mr. Davidson and hurriedly went over to assist the old lady, both angry and distressed, "You should be resting properly. What do you want to sit up for? Lie down quickly."

The old lady insisted on not lying down, merely saying, "I know my body. The doctor just said it. I just think too much and didn’t rest well, which is why I fainted accidentally. It’s not related to Adeline and them."

Adeline was Mrs. Davidson’s given name.

Since the old lady said so, no matter how angry Yuni was, she couldn’t express it outwardly.

She propped up the pillows by the bedside for the old lady, helping her to sit against them, and then kept a stiff face without speaking.

The old lady felt somewhat awkward, her gaze wandering outside. After hesitating for a second, she asked weakly, "Has Marcella and them not arrived yet?"

All along, Jaycent Kingsley had been beside her, serving tea and pouring water. Upon hearing this, a hint of a sarcastic smile flashed across his handsome face. It seemed that he understood why the old lady suddenly ’collapsed’ at home.

Since learning that Nathalie Quinlan was his biological cousin, Jaycent hadn’t seen her in the meantime, mainly because he hadn’t sorted out his emotions.

Even so, at this moment, Jaycent couldn’t help but interrupt while serving warm water to the old lady, "Grandma, you’re sick now. Don’t worry too much."

The old lady faintly frowned, opened her mouth.

Jaycent handed the warm water into her hands, gently interrupting her, "My aunt is an adult. She knows you’re hospitalized, and she’ll rush over as soon as she finishes her work. Don’t worry about her; taking care of your health is what matters most."

His eyes slightly narrowed, and then, facing all members of the Davidson Family, he seemed to unintentionally add, "Or is there something that you must have my aunt here for?"
